How about a Pay Pal Heat Sink Donation address?
$5 per board is a great deal, thx.

Are the risers for the heatsinks or do these riser go high enough to put a fan on. Also if you have a plan for rubber nubs to go on the bottom of the planes I want some too. I've got funds in the works so you should get your heatsink money. just make sure its added in for batch 3.

I think the risers/standoffs/spacers go here:

Hey guys.

A few notes on heatsinks. Basically, heatsinks are good for your boards. They will lessen the strain on the chips and extend the life of the boards. If you are planning to run the boards conservatively without too much overclocking, then they will not get too hot and fans may well do the trick, but even then having heatsinks will be better than not havijng heatsinks. If you plan to overclock the shit out of your boards, then you will definitely need heatsink. Once they are cranked right up they get HOT, regardless of what climate you're in. The reason the BFSB boards didn't need heatsinks is because they were running each chip at 1.6 GH/s, very low power draw and heat at that level.

Soooo, we have made they executive decision to ship heatsinks as standard with all boards. For every board you have purchased you will receive one heatsink with thermal tape on it to adhere yourself. If you have already organised heatsinks or don't want to use them, then you can just leave them off. They are sized to make sure the boards with heatsink attached will still fit the miniplane

Now, these aren't free, they are costing us a reasonable chunk of money, but basically we don't have time to chase 100s of payments at this point. If i had more time i would be taking payments from people who want them and only shipping them to those people, but there isn't time for that. So, consider this a social experiment of sorts. It would great to get payments for the heatsinks. If you would have payed for them anyway, and know that you want them and are happy to be receiving them, please pay. If you wouldn't have ordered them, and don't really want them, then don't worry about it and enjoy your free heatsinks.  Smiley Lets see if an honor system can work in this crazy scenario. I believe it can. Prove me right!

I managed to get a whole bunch at bulk cheap rates so the price for those is $5 or 0.03 BTC each. Bargain! Please send BTC to 1AF1WmU9Ut2CMuMJWgeBiXb2LMCd6x1GYA. USD to [email protected].

Let's see if this works.

Also, everyone who is getting a miniplane will receive stand off spacers and little plastic screws so you can lock the whole thing together and make it nice and rigid! Cool huh?  Cool

The heatsinks will be these:

The spacers look like this:

LoL i do think true miners is another definition in my view, a true miner keeps mining even if he looses thousands of dollars on this.
Yes indeed self reflection

Anyway i like the design showed however the double scroll is showed as the boards sit on opposite sides
As you showed them you simply placed 2 miniplanes right !?

Again i like the design, i might try to buiild a similar box, because for me it does not matter much if the cards are free but you must think of all kinda situations happening especially playing kids and cleaning housewifes and most of all people who look with their hands like my neighbourds and guests

I'd rather hang them on the ceiling if I had enough cable. If there were more hub choices where I shopped for mine I would have done the same for my eroupters.

We just have to hope barntech has good record keeping to tell us to pay up after they've made the final choice.
It goes without saying that he has! Smiley

I already have my own heatsinks organised so won't need any.
lucky i have some sizable ones i can cut to size (from old Amps and a junked solar inverter)

We just have to hope bartech has good record keeping to tell us to pay up after they've made the final choice. All I gotta figure is if they're testing with add ons like 12v connectors and heatsyncs, all they gotta do is finalize paths and send it to the machines depending on where and who is putting the final product together.

An option is to just include or send (or even have sent, direct from the source) the heatsinks for each person's Board order separately (as opposed to pre-installed on the boards).  And write a brief instruction page on how to install them the recommended way.  Then each individual can affix their chosen (of the 2 offered) heatsinks themselves, and/or customise as they choose.

I'm just saying, I would rather that aspect be done that way, rather than have everybody's shipping date held up by any delay entailed by Barntech and crew / subcontractors having to take the extra time themselves to do it for Everyone in advance of shipping.  If that's what it would mean*

*(by some magic, Barntech and crew have been managing to eliminate or very much minimise some steps of the process so far, so I don't entirely discount the fact that they may be able to cover any heatsink possibility with no significant time cost!)

I'm more worried about how the heat will effect how much I can mine Wink. I have 6 eroupter working uncooled and cgminer says they're working at their peak except for when I tested some new cgminer software and they went down uneventfully Shocked.

Hopefully @Bartechs [workers? Undecided] have everything in line and will be the best for our buck. If these mining devices poop out every 5 minute I won't max out my planes and Bartech won't have my money Cry.

My fun is I need for both hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

I haven't thought to check if Bartech is having winter or summer right now or where the boards are being tested. Austrailia weather says Sydney 75*F/24C* during the day.

in australia, summer starts in december, work the rest of the seasons out from there.

8.50am friday morning right now, three of the last four days this week have been over 30C (86F) with a little drizzle of rain inbetween just to make it muggy shit. i heard some areas out west got up to 39C (102F).

that said, correct me if i;m wrong, but good guess that barntech and crew have warm to hot climates in mind with regard to heatsinks so either should be more than adequate regardless of where you live. if you were in the russian winter type situation, you MAY be able to get away without them altogether or go the passive cooling route which saves another fraction off your electricity bill. if power is expensive in your locale this could be a contributing factor to going passive rather than active, and realistically, it's not going to get cheaper. shit in finance inflates, you don't hear about deflation often.

everybody's predicament is different tho so one solution probably wont be exactly right for the next person, same as the all the random bullshit i'm reading regarding power supplies.

more food for thought ladies, if there's something wrong with the flavour, cook your own fucking brunch next time...

Assuming the black one's specs are measurably better, I vote for them.  Heat can kill us all.
Obviously it has to fit the plane and the double scroll.  And the fins all have to be going the same way on a fully loaded double scroll.
But another $10-20 a board in the name of cooling is probably $ well spent.

EDIT: Or you could determine who gets what heatsink based on their country's 2014 weather forecast.  Really?
