I think our President Rodrigo Duterte can make the Philiplines free from drugs. I believe with the support from everyone, this dream can be achieve in no time. As i see today, people critizes our the negative side of the program but doesn't look atthe positive effects from it. I, as a student, i hope that this goal can be achieve as soon a possible to make our country better.

Your right, Especially to those people who related in drugs, they are looking for the bad consequences of the presidential duterte, to cover up what they are doing wrong. Hopefully the Philippines will be well equipped with the help of President duterte.
Yes, I also believe that President Rodrigo Duterte can do it. But our president can't to do it own by himself. Every citizens should act and do their role to help our country prevent from using and selling drugs. Government should act to this many of crimes are cause by drugs like rape, murder, terrorism and other illegal activities. Lot of people still believes that President Duterte can do it even others make it bad. Police should wear cameras on their vest to insure what is really happened during their buy bust opeation.

I have yet to hear about a drug free country. Not even the big US of A is drug-free. Let alone a country such as the Philippines. However, I admire the Phil president for his dedication and hard work to eradicate drugs in his country. Never have i seen a man work so relentless to solve a dug problem. Who knows he might make history by making his country the first ever drug free. Nevertheless, the fight against illegal drugs doesn't rest in one mans hand only. It must be a collective effort from citizens of a country. Should they decide to be drug free they must do their part in the fight by not using/selling, passing helpful information to authorities, etc.
I've been spamming this quite heavily in this thread now, but that's mostly because nobody seems to be reading anything.

A drug free country does not exist and will never exist.

The use of drugs is a paramount aspect of human nature. Humans have been using drugs since long before any hint of modern civilization came into being. There is nothing wrong with taking drugs responsibly and there will always be people who will be compelled to try drugs, no matter how hard idiotic uninformed nonsense will try to demonize the use.
Nobody other than sheep and greedy warmongers and profiteers want "drug-free" countries. And most of the people I've just mentioned only pretend to fight for a drug-free world. Nobody who knows anything about drugs would ever propagate this war on drugs nonsense.

I am a supporter of drug legalization. But I really doubt whether it will work in the Philippines. Even for the legalization to happen in the future, the current bunch of drug kingpins needs to be taken out. But going by the public opinion, I don't think that the legalization will ever happen in that country.

Can the president of the Philippines can do it. Well I like what his doing in his campaign. It is very amazing program and very work program in the country. Many were discipline now because of him.
I don't really think that there would be a drug free country,
I mean yeah he could really lessen the number of user's but the truth is we couldn't really know how many users are in the country,
How could we tell if the country is drug free?
No country will ever be drug free. I'm an academic and I know a lot of very successful people who partake in recreational use of substances of all kinds without damaging their mental or physical health or private/public life.

The only reason drugs are banned are greed-driven propaganda and silly power games. The same people who ban drugs are the ones stuffing their bags and laundering money en masse while pretending to be some saviors of justice.

Now we will not answer this question. The country has been under the influence of narcotics for a very long time and it is very difficult to remove it in a short time.
But we can definitely say that the president has done everything possible to give citizens a chance at a normal and healthy existence

i understand he is fighting drug trade and the agenda i believe is very good, but the method used is a bit drastic. i beleive if the Colombian government has decided to kill all involve in Drug Trade in Carli or Manilla in the 90s about a tenth of the population woul have been wiped out. The best thing is to dialogue. This killings will not solve the problem. Fighting drugs is not fighting humans. Duterte's actions might bounce back to bite him if an opposition wins power in the future. killing is never a solution

Then what do you think is the best solution?  Do you think just by saying things to drug peddlers, drug lords, asking them or beg them to stop it will really make them stop?  Are they that too good that they will ascend to the president's command?  The stake is big as they will not be powerful enough and their livelihoods will be affected.  That is their business and they will not care and will not stop because they are making money to it.  When people in the Philippines will be afraid that they might be dead if they do anything associated with drugs, then that might stop.  They will be afraid to use or sell drugs if they see that the President is sincere on what he promised.

The dark side of Drug campaign of President Duterte is that some victims (ex. drug users) are innocent in a sense that they are just taking drugs (although using illegal drugs is illegal) why not drug pushers and drug cartels? mostly illegal drugs are coming from China (Digong's BFF is Xi Jinpi). Lastly, all people deserves due process (stated by the constitution). Drug users are mostly coming from the poor sectors. Using drugs according to them will give "High" feelings like a bird flying in the sky. Hence, the government must give effort not just having an "Oplan Tokhang" but also help the poor in their needs.

As long as poverty will be reduced, more jobs, more infrastructure projects, improve quality education and imprisoned corrupt politicians and drug cartels. Philippines will be clean again and that is the change that ALL are hoping for.

How can they succeed in eliminating drugs when one of the BFF's of President Duterte is Peter Lim?? an alleged drug lord. Duterte is also a close friend of the President of China?Huh?

Oplan Tokhang doesn't even happen in the expensive subdivisions. Corinthians told them to fuck off. They were supposed to come around my subdivision but we told them to fuck off as well. They're pretty much exclusively targeting poor people in the slums. Peddlers, users, etc. If you have money you're pretty much exempt. This country is fucked and being led by a drug addict.

I wish he'd fight stupidity and the retardation of the country instead.

Do you think there would be so much drug usage if they actually built infrastructure so businesses would want to come to the philippines?
Has anyone taken MRT going north from makati at 6PM on a weekday? Do you think it's acceptable?
Do you think it's acceptable that it takes hours to drive 30KM from the airport to quezon city?
Do you think there would be so much drug usage if people were actually taught critical thinking in schools instead of how to be a subservient slave?

If people don't have jobs, don't have any possible future, are unable to do anything, yes they will use drugs. Why not? It will make their shit life a little better. They have no options.

Oh, by the way, what happened to all those billions that were GIVEN to the philippines for reconstruction after the tacloban typhoon? I wonder who's swiss bank account those ended up in. It's quite obvious with the state of tacloban none of it made it there. The amount of money given was enough to build a modern city with infrastructure. Modern airport, MRTs, Roadways, proper retaining walls to prevent future flooding, etc.

And, stop complaining about corrupt politcians when you fools keep voting the same corrupt politicians in office!! Not that it really matters, even if the people posting in this thread were voted into office -- they would just become the new corrupt politician. The people are corrupt. That's why the government is corrupt.

300 years of the spanish killing anyone with an IQ above a peanut has left the country with an average IQ lower than what would be considered to be mentally retarded in any modern country.

I really can't wait to leave this shit hole and never come back. I'm taking the 2 good employees I have (out of 100+ that i've hired and fired) with me. This place would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

Now, come on! lets all go claim people are drug king pins and kill them with no evidence, no trial, etc. Just an accusation is enough, right? Fuck due process. Marijuana cures cancer? Helps with many debilitating diseases? Fuck that, who needs medicine. Kill those drugs addicts!

Come on everyone! Let's follow the drug addict president! I wonder if he's had his fentanyl today. Just wait for him to talk, if he jokes about raping women, then he's good, he's had his drugs. If he calls everyone a son of a bitch then he needs more pain patches, he's in withdraw! I can't believe people would actually follow this narcissistic piece of shit. He would be removed from office by force in any country worth a damn. Welcome to the philippines!

There are no positive sides. If you study developed nations and human history you will quickly come to understand that drugs can not be eradicated from human societies. They will always exist, and fighting them with violence is a despicable crime against all of humanity.

If he is able to achieve his goals, then that will be a great accomplishment. Something which no one else was able to achieve prior to this. And as a non-Filipino, I am glad that the citizens of Philippines are supporting his initiative.

I 100% support the campaign about drugs but a drug free country will never be attained. We have to give credit to the president for being the only president who made drastic move against this criminals, now me and my family feel more safer than ever compared to before. If you have done nothing wrong or against the law you should have nothing to worry about.
I give zero credit to that president. He's an outright murderer and criminal. No good comes from prosecuting drug vendors or drug users and it only creates more problems. Illegality raises the prices of drugs and thus leads to more money being involved in the black markets. That is what creates violence and other crime with regards to drugs.
If drugs were legal, there'd be no black market and no people murdering others due to the large sums of cash involved.

Education and control is so vastly superior to illegality and prosecution that there shouldn't even be any debate about this. Unfortunately most people are still brainwashed by Nixon's propaganda, and they don't even realize it!

That is debatable. According to various reports, hundreds of innocent bystanders were killed during the vigilante squad raids. And many of these bystanders had absolutely nothing to do with drugs.
