That is what I do for example. I do not gamble with a lot, I gamble with a small amount of my money, and I end up losing most of the time but usually lose slowly and not that quickly and that means I do not lose too much money neither. In the end, is it a loss? Yes, but it is cheaper money spent on it than a movie, think about that.
Between disney plus, netflix, amazon, hbo, youtube premium, discord nitro and a million other subs, I pay less on gambling per month than I pay for those things and in the end I probably spend at least as much. Or at least when a series is open on the tv, I am on my phone gambling at the same time as well, thats how most of my days are going.
This is not often brought forward and it is quite true, when people find out that you gamble they think you are losing a huge amount of money every day and this is not true, if you make small bets then you can gain some entertainment for a few hours for a price lower than many other entertainment options.
This is something similar with what we see with video games, where I live the average price of a video game is 70 dollars, however if you play it for 35 hours then you only spent 2 dollars for each hour of entertainment you got, an amount which is awfully cheap compared with the money you need to spend with other hobbies.
That is true and it is hard to convince the people you love about this as well. My wife was mad at me for gambling at first, she didn't want me to gamble and she thought we would lose all of our money if we did that. And you know what happened in return? Now she loves gambling as well. Put up like 50-100 bucks a month into an account, and then gamble all day everyday with it, for hours and hours.
When the work is over, it's usually 8 or 9 pm, sometimes quicker sometimes later, but even with the average, we are talking about nearly 5 hours a day free time for me. That means I can gamble for nearly 150 hours and that is for 50 bucks, that's 30 cents per hour. Cheapest fun anywhere in the whole world if you ask me
