Many reasons to trigger a platform tool to freeze/ block an account and it does not need to relate to compliance problems but also can be related to security issues.

As long as I know and as my own experience, VPN is allowed to bypass ISP block only or to bypass the block by 3rd party providers but I dont think it is allowed to bypass countries restriction as per terms. In the past I used to use VPN anytime I played in duelbits in order to be able to play some providers such as relax gaming and no limit city. Those who are coming from the restricted countries should not try to bypass the restriction by using VPN unless they are ready for any possible effects.

When using a free VPN, which like you both have confirmed that the IP address associated with that free VPN may likely be shared with other people using the same free VPN, i dont the other players have to necessarily cheat before the casino blocks you, there are other reasons the casino might block you, and one of those is multi accounting, since several other people are using the same VPN as you, the casino would not be wrong to assume that you are operating multiple account with them, this is if the other users of that same VPN are also using the same casino as you though, aside this, i do not think there can be any harm in using free VPN, though the risk is on the high side, like for example, someone using the same IP address as you from a free VPN might wake up one day and decide to sign up on the same casino you have been playing on, then the assume will automatically assume its you who signed up another account, and both you and the person or persons will be blocked.

Yeah, peeps are going to be fussy about this all the time because they are not really thinking straight when they want to do it. I have seen this through the moderation experience on one of the micro-tasking websites where users would use VPN so that they can get qualified for the high-paying surveys or tasks and whenever we identify their original country by various methods we usually end up blocking them on the website. As punishment, we also cease the wallet money that they have earned because it is anyways illegal money. This is more or less against the rule and also to teach them the perfect lesson they should be getting.
