And BTW, the “Devcoin” room in Keybase is my room so I think I’ll act any way I want.  You guys own the room “devcoins”.  Are there multiple devcoins?  Lol

Yes in  fact there are. Would you like me to send you more than one devcoin? Sure I'll send you some devcoins, how many? Multiple devcoins of course! Who would just send one devcoin. Silly!

I don’t know who the lead dev here is or if you have one.  If you don’t I’ll gladly submit my resume.  Anyway, there seems to be a lack of focus or vision on what’s gonna be big in the tech/communications world.  I think Keybase is gonna be at least as be as telegram.  I just wanted to let the community know that as far as Keybase goes I’ve got it covered.  And I threw in an forward thinking avatar hoping to attract the original bitcoin adopters - the whole anonymous/privacy thing is still going strong.  We may just get all those whale bitcoin early adopters with this plan.

I wasn't aware Keybase was even still a thing. I had created an account way back in the day and have completely forgotten about it. People use that?

I don’t know what it was like back then but right now it’s like telegram built around crypto for crypto.  It’s quite amazing when you think of the potential.

It used to be sort of like LinkedIn, in a way. Just a way to verify identity IIRC. That was back when it was brand new though so I have no doubt it's grown since it's still around now. I'll look into it when I have time!

I’ll second that on Keybase.  I think it’s gonna really take off when crypto goes mainstream.

I just wanna confirm that is indeed me and I’m sure people who know me are shocked.

But I would like to be mature about this and apologize that I was too instangry at your commie behavior to come up with something more eloquent but equally trashy, true and insulting.

That said, I bought dvc cause of Dan and I gave away like 75% of it to devs.  That’s how little I care.  I have my own coins I truly believe in and have unshakable convictions.  And in my rooms people have the gift of freedom of speech.  That’s what the block button is for.

And BTW, the “Devcoin” room in Keybase is my room so I think I’ll act any way I want.  You guys own the room “devcoins”.  Are there multiple devcoins?  Lol

Finally, you don’t know the history between jackjack and I.  Trust me she can dish it out.  I simply gave her a lil jab for old times sake so I doubt she was offended.  And if was offended about something like cooking me a chicken pot pie then she can forget ever going on a date with me.  I’m an old fashioned kinda guy.

Neat.  haha

Hopefully this doesn't get deleted. But I decided to backup my "devcoin" folder by making it "devcoin-bkp" and then installed "Devcoin" which once successfully installed I checked the About folder and a popup displayed "Devcoin version 0.3.25.1-beta Copyright (C) 2009-2011 Bitcoin Developers" (yes this is an old win-32 wallet haha). I just wanted to see if it would run, and run it does, but I noticed it won't sync the blockchain after loading block 0('s) Wink. Anyone have any input into how to make this run/have expertise and hints at why it won't (yet?). It'll at least help me understand the project and its history better. If you want to share I find this all fair discussion in the Official Thread of this [DVC]DevCoin Smiley... so Moderators try not to interfere:

Hey, I had to leave for a while so seeing this thread alive brings much nostalgia
I thought that was a great idea when Unthinkingbit created Devcoin, it's sad to see he left
Is it still maintained? Is there some need for help?

Hey, jack, long time.  I might have to take over as lead dev but I’m so busy with other projects I’m not sure yet.  Otherwise things are moving along.  Feel to help out in anyway you can.  Hey, can you make a chicken pot pie?   Grin Kiss

Thanks develCuy.

When all the security scams like ripple and stellar get delisted, maybe its room for the OG alts to come back to life and relevance in 2021?  Cool

No scam. Ripple has some alpha gateway debt locked in v1 Smiley and Stellar has our galactic milieu and official Devcoin website tokens Smiley k.devcoin.org $kDVC

Thanks @drmutz! I'd love to see your feedback about the official Dockerfile: https://github.com/devcoin/core/blob/master/examples/Dockerfile

- develCuy

Ha! I didn't know there was one.  Learn something new everyday :-)

Looks like whoever wrote the official Dockerfile knows more about Docker and Devcoin than I do, but it might be a bit overwhelming for a n00b.

Perhaps a n00b would have an easier time starting with my edition all the while having a handy upgrade path with the official edition.

They are actually 0.02 Bitcoins!

I'll be happy to add your code into the examples/ folder as Dockerfile_starter. If you don't mind, can you start a pull request with your addition?

Hello folks,

For a good time please take a look at https://github.com/bostontrader/crypto-docker/tree/master/Legacy/DVC-Devcoin

This is a Dockerfile that builds a modern commit (2020-Dec) of the DVC source code with Ubuntu 18.04.  It weighs in
at a mere 73 mb, which ain't too bad in today's world.  I would have used Ubuntu 20.04 but attempting to do so
makes building db4.8 much more difficult (cuz it's getting too old!)

This works well for me and easily finds peers and downloads the entire DVC blockchain from scratch if necessary.

My humble offering to the ecosystem.  Enjoy!
