Im having issues opening my Devcoin wallet. I recently had an update for windows, and since the update I cannot open the wallet. I went to my firewall and chose to allow access, restarted, open as admin, and still nothing.. any ideas? all my other wallets work fine.

P.S Im an idiot I have no back up for this 1...
hold down ctrl shirt esc to open the task manager. Can you see devcoin.exe under processes? If so it's probably just in your tray. If not, first thing I'd do - as it's windows - is copy the wallet.dat file (browse to appdata - roaming - devcoin) and turn your pc off and on again. Edit: ok, you're cool now.

I got a response from Zach Harvey from Lamassu ( https://lamassu.is/ ). They are working on a Bitcoin ATM, and I emailed them about Devcoin. They said they are considering a Litecoin ATM first, and will consider other Altcoins (the ones that show promise) in the future. They are focussing on the Bitcoin first though (which is set to be released early 2014. So they might consider a Devcoin ATM later in the future, as long as we keep growing.

In Vircurex you can buy 5M DVCs with extremely low prices still.

I wouldn't call that low anymore...  Grin

or do you have 10 k $ lying around everywhere?

I am starting to believe that DVC will be the biggest surprise of 2014.

 Cheesy

if the devs keep polishing the looks and functions of devcoin community, I say nothing can go wrong.

If that's acceptable for any bounty, my address is: 1LHVxAkzcN8BzSdrT7J2W3CCpiz5Rgj72E

It's great, it'll get six for the second award, as long as no one objects by Dec 18. Web wallets like vircurex can't handle generation devcoins, is that devcoin address from your computer?

Edit 1: Hmm although I seem to be getting a different time to you lot - looks like I had a local time in there...fixing atm

Edit 2: Nope I'm not seeing why I'm getting a different ETA. At this present moment it's 15th Dec 14:04 UTC, there are 2106 blocks to go (120,000 - 117894), which is 21,060 minutes to go = 351 hours converts into 14 days and 15 hours. Going by this, the target date and time should be the 1400 on the 29th of Dec plus 15 hours, or 30th December at 0500. I think I'm correct.

Please message Emfox to clear that up. In any case, both are close enough to get the bounty, they're certainly closer than my backup plan which was to say that the new round starts on the new moon Smiley

Hey guys, Love the DVC idea. I see DVC in a few years really being the moving force behind open source devolvement.

I was wondering if anyone here wants to sell some DVC, looking to by in 5M lots. Willing to pay in BTC,LTC,NMC, ECT.

Why don't you do that at cryptsy?

Ive already bought just under 10m using cryptsy.. its just that I'm having them stupid deposit and missing balance issues today.. a few days ago it was fine.. now its all messed up.

I'm willing to go first if its a trusted member who is part of the dvc community.

I'm also willing to buy up to like 20mill if the price is right.. maybe even more!

Vircurex works like a dream. I have had tons of headache with cryptsy. Today I lost 16 k GrandCoins there and no even response, no information on their site what is going on.

In Vircurex everything works just fine.

Edit: and the price is right there.  Wink It is based on low demand high supply so more than great opportunity.

Yup, DVC is the investment # 1 on this and next year.
I believe the price will adjust to the new levels quite soon so if you want to get the cheap DVCs, please hurry up - the cheap Devas are limited offer!
I am in buying mood and I will keep it until it hits the target and then I will re-calculate it.
This will be something big and it will make many early ones rich.

Thanks for the reply,I have used that one but for whatever reason it wouldn't open when installed, perhaps a antivirus thing,i'll download to another pc and see what happens ,many thanks
A few suggestions:
1) Checked that it's not being blocked by your firewall?
2) Tried running the exe as administrator? (I know when I first downloaded it, for some reason because it was so new my av tried to sandbox and stall it, so maybe that would over-ride any program blocking it)
3) You sure it's not minimised in the tray? (can change that via settings)

got it in the tray, many thanks Smiley

Countdown clock - all it needs is a spreadsheet link, could probably just be added to smeagols dvc price site:
Using an old start point for calc: In A1 enter '12/05/2013  21:50:00' (date formatted, this is GMT for ref if want to be specific). In A2 enter current DVC Block. In A3 (also date formatted as above) type =A1+((120000-89150)/((A2-89150)/(NOW()-A1))). Right now that gives 31/12/2013 10:24 GMT

I agree that it's not so hard, so I suggest 12 for the first person to accomplish it, and 6 for the second.

2) I think that's under discussion/plan.

What do you mean with that? Is there a place where this matter is discussed at this moment, where I can participate?

If yes, where is this place.

Thank you.
Everybody takes you seriously, it's clear the portal needs work. I was just inferring from this post and from many comments such as yours (and mine) highlighting the need: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3969597

This is the best place to discuss until there's a devcoin-specific forum or site that meets all the criteria necessary to work well.

Until quite recently efforts were forcused on the varying projects funded, rather than necessarily the public awareness medium. So for example a number of open source projects have been regularly funded for a long time, clients developed, devtome grown, bounties offered and worked on etc. Unlike many other cryptos, there wasn't a pool of pre-mined devcoin to easily channel into stuff - nor the market liquidity to facilitate easy constant exchange for those most able to fund without undermining it - and I think the initial developers are themselves open source developers busy with getting a number of things done across cryptos and elsewhere.

That has changed. Interest is growing, there's greater liquidity, devtome is now a revenue positive project and growing, the number of bounties offered and completed are rising with it all, and more people like you and me have ideas and suggestions.

Thank You.

Now, look how silly this thing is :  Go at http://devcoin.org/   Press CTRL+F, put "forum''.
What do you find? 2 results. One is about the pool forum, another is '' BitcoinTalk.org Forum '', which is a dead link.

How are people supposed to know where forum is? I wouldn't know now if you didn't tell me.

If you people really want DVC succeed, start making the site from the scratch.

Peace

Yes, clearly.

I already mentioned this exact problem a few pages ago in this thread.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3949363

But no one seems to take me seriously with that matter...

So either there is no webmaster for devcoin.org, or he is asleep or not responding, or it's simply not getting thru to him, or he doesn't care, because he's dreaming about ATM machines.
