Welcome to round 100!

The fallback reduction is finally away starting from block 400000, so we are back on track!!

It means that the new file custodians were accepted by the majority of miners. Also, according to our block explorer 25% of the network is running the latest Devcoin pre-release (v0.8.6). Let's see what happens with an official release!

Now I want to acknowledge not only the file custodians, but everybody running the Devcoin blockchain. Everybody might have different interest, but you all have an inspiring loyalty for what you do! Kudos to you for that  Smiley

Go go Devcoin!

P.S: People outside call it burial. Our hearts drum the rebirth!

Dear Devcoin miners,

I'm pleased to announce that all the file custodians are finally in sync and ready to hit round 100!

It is very important that you make sure that your node has the latest receiver_99.csv and receiver_100.csv files into the receiver/ folder, in advance to block 400000, otherwise the fallback reduction algorithm will keep halving the miners reward down to 2500 per block. If you can't find the files in your local copy of the blockchain, please manually download them from here:

http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_99.csv
http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_100.csv

You don't need to stop your node or perform any other action apart from downloading those files into the right place. Also, I recommend this because during round 98 many file custodians, for different reasons, had their mirrors offline temporarily or definitively. Your node needs the up-to-date list of file custodian mirrors in order to work correctly, and that can't happen automatically if the majority of mirrors are offline for too long.

Last but not least, there is a new pre-release of Devcoin awaiting for you in the official repository: https://github.com/devcoin/core/. It was a very long time since the last release, so you have another reason to give your merged miner setup some maintenance.

Thanks for your precious time and contributions to the Devcoin project!

Go go Devcoin!

Dan, I’m new here, but I read most of your stuff and I’m wondering if you’re currently on any antipsychotic drugs to manage your delusional psychosis?   Grin

Here’s hoping you’re the right kind of crazy cause I bought some DVC cause of you.  Wink

Where is DevTome content now?  Need config infos listed there about block sigs

Do you include GRouPcoin and CoiLedCoin in your merge? How about UNObtanium?

Do you find GeistGeld's six-second block-target too fast to the point it messes with the efficiency of other coins if you merge it?

What software are you using for your merge?

Probably if someone successfully executes a trade there should write a short "how-to" guide (about how they found relevant pair, executed an order, and "withdrew" the "real" assets) and post it here.

Somebody wrote the following guide:
https://steemit.com/devcoin/@satoshi0x/how-to-buy-sell-dvc-using-stellar

I invite everyone who goes through steps 1-9, and optional step 13, to provide feedback here.

Btw, apparently there is an app as well:

Starting from round 100 we are reassigning the 43 shares for OpenSource projects to the new OpenSource Fund, under the Devcoin address: 1KKZGDL56sHrZefZWw2p61x1z3qzyNAUDJ

Wait! Why?

Because, The Devcoin Foundation is supposed to fund OpenSource projects and writers. That is the actual purpose of the organization. The admins team discussed about how effective is that financial support given that Devcoin is currently hard to sell in the exchanges market. In other words, we are basically "giving away" Devcoins that can't be dumped (exchanged) for some other asset or fiat that can pay their particular expenses. That is not effective help for people that asked for financial support in the first place!

For the reasons above, the decision is to hold the shares in a new fund that will be used with a new fair distribution system in the future, only when the Foundation can provide real financial support. Good news is, the team is working hard for that day to come sooner than later!

Last but not least, we are setting up a tribunal to control all the funds (Software Development, DevSTEEM, Devtome, Operations, etc). If the accountant is ever hit by a bus, there will always be another person available to control the funds.

Go go Devcoin!

Can you supply me with the old url, unicode.03C0? Equiped with the url then the original page should be retrievable from the backup server and made available for you.

- Nova

Nova, I can publish the info to our github receiver's wiki https://github.com/devcoin/receivers/wiki. You only need to send me links to the pages in the backup server.

- develCuy

Searched for "block sigs" with no results. That's the reason for asking for the original link. Should be easy to get then.

For the people with interest on what is being discussed in the internal forum for admins.

Apart from boring managerial stuff, we also share some interesting ideas. So, I "spoiled" a few of mine here:

What truly worked for me was downloading the receiver files and making sure they were copied over to my roaming>devcoin>receivers folder (I was missing 96-99 so I just copied those over after seeing that my 95 was the same as the one I downloaded from the seed at http://devcoin.darkgamex.ch/

I went to this https://github.com/devcoin/receivers and download zip master receiver file and open %appdata% roaming>devcoin and move the unzipped file to this location and rename it to receiver after deleting receiver file already there and my wallet now syncs.
Thank you for this solution.I would give merit but am unable to with newbie status but help appreciated!

Yes, that method works but my intention was to have your help testing if your node can successfully sync with the blockchain and to report any issue in the process. Can you still make it?

- develCuy

I only am regular wallet user.I sync wallet any day I am on here but I don't run a node?

Think that still counts, Windows is just an unfinished product.

You're like a middle aged male Harley Quinn. Not sure I'd ever call.

Haha, man, I had to google that.  Oh, you’re gonna call.  Wink

But I already joined a rigorously verbally abusive frat 13 years ago.

Dude, we’re buds, we’ll get along great so just call when you need a shoulder to cry on.  Smiley
