If we really want people to hold why don't we convert to PoW/PoS?

please explain.

Sorry if I am incorrect but I believe that we can make it so that interest will generate on stake.  (but then merge mining will not be possible, right?)

Devtome request - when submitting articles could you also list them (formatted) on the front page under 'Most recent'.

This obviously makes the admins' jobs easier, but also with the incorporation of improving vetting - views and ratings - as factors in determining compensation it means if you don't do it nobody will see them, file them, read them ... so any consequent return will be lower, perhaps considerably.

I was thinking of that, the post idea is pretty good, we always need good human judges of work. What if we posted hashes of our work through a browser add-on that connects to Devtome? We sign in to the Add-on it connects to Devtome and we simply highlight what we want hashed and send it to Devtome ... this can create far more content. It just makes it more managable to share work anywhere. Plus we can easily advertise and guide others to everyone's posts over the internet not just Devtome... lots of marketing opportunities.

Search engines don't like duplicate content, it would just be spam basically.

As per Unthinkingbits Bounty Evaluation guidelines at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3658756  I would like to propose a bounty for an Android devcoin wallet...

...Also I would like to thank who ever changed the devcoin logo at devtome. The new look is fantastic.
There was a start on android compatability here: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_android (although not really what you're talking about, I'm listing it in case it helps anyone develop things further).

The logo is thanks to jasinlee and unthinkingbit (and marticps who designed it).

I would like to bring your attention to Currency Exchange Rates, an Android app by Integrics. Not only does it convert every currency in the world, but also cryptocurrencies including devcoin. A big congratulations to them.

Below is an image of it with dvc converted to AUD$ and USD$, going both directions.

You can also use it like a calculator. Below is it converting 100,000 dvc to $30 USD.

As per Unthinkingbits Bounty Evaluation guidelines at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3658756  I would like to propose a bounty for an Android devcoin wallet.

Presently I am using a Goldcoin (GLD) wallet to spread awareness of virtual currencies. It only takes a few minutes for some one to download the wallet app, and for me to scan their QR code and send them some coins. This would be a big step for devcoin. It would allow us all to tip anyone anywhere anytime. I will put my money where my mouth is, I pledge 300,000 devcoins towards this, whether or not there is an official bounty. It has to work like the Goldcoin wallet (identical to the btc, ltc, ftc wallet), with QR codes, back up keys, etc.

Also I would like to thank who ever changed the devcoin logo at devtome. The new look is fantastic.

I suggest limiting the posts per user to forty per month. Also, duplicate posts will be removed.

Are there are objections to either suggestion? Should the posts per user be limited to a smaller number?

Any way of implementing diminishing returns?

I support this.

Do you mean the shares per user?  I might support that, what happens to the extra coins?

I may be wrong but I figured he meant forum posts, not anything to do with Devtome itself (as his post was right after we talked about spam here on the forums).

It would just be part of the algorithm. There wouldn't be extra coins.

Same,
but only if bounties start being given for answering posts from people with questions, not just talking to each other about how great holding is.
Since none of you do that (mods aside), and that is why I am here all the time.

I post about Devcoin all over the internet and about how people are writing and coding and show them the bounty page. They don't just want to be told to buy and hold when they get here.

Talk about your articles, your current projects, your ideas, etc.

It also prevents learning. On my FinShaggy account I had tons of newbs thank me because I was the only one that would answer right away, while all the old schoolers bitched at me for being present too often.

So it is give and take.

You also know that ban evasion results in more bans right?

I didn't evade a ban, a robot did it, not a mod. And I didn't know that I wasn't allowed to PM people telling them about writing for Devcoins. I was just trying to PM people in the noob section to teach them, and I didn't even get a chance to appeal the ban. It wouldn't let me back on the site to email a mod or anything for an appeal, so I made a new account when I moved. I no longer PM hardly at all, I am currently in a discussion with 1 person via PM and nothing more.

40 a month is way too few. There are already too many noob questions that go unanswered for days.

It prevents thread bloating.

You can start by stopping to repost your own posts for the purpose of bumping.

I don't do it just to bump, I do it to educate. I made a list of like 100 bounty ideas, if you read that and it does not inspire some ideas of your own, then you should probably stop writing.

I bring new people to Devcoin all the time, sorry if I have some stuff I'd like people to learn and try.

Fin - you've already listed multiple suggestions. Please stop with just posting whatever comes to mind. I appreciate that you believe your approach is the best one, but when almost everybody else disagrees - within a group endeavour - surely it's time to take a step back and consider those other opinions. There was a period earlier this year when pushback against your posts grew to the extent of real animosity and the devcoin thread centred only on such attitude. It's beginning to return to that vibe so many of us would really appreciate keeping things on point. If you want to pursue some of the ideas you suggest then just do them - you're getting paid via devtome so put that compensation to good use.

Unthinkingbit - Maybe just eliminating duplicates would be a start. Not sure how/why broad interest could/should be curtailed to address a narrower problem.

None of them were 50 words. So, no this is my first suggestion
