Yep, fair enough. If you trade on eBay, you gotta play by their rules.

Vote 4fryn :)
Ebay doesn't want anything to do with Bitcoin anymore, not surprising.
Not correct. The guy broke their rules actually.

Thats fair enough I would suppose.

Exactly, read the post above made by murraypaul. It is not surprised to see that auction getting deleted.

eBay DELETED my auction for Avalon Miners because I accept Bitcoin!

I only mentioned in the auction description that I accept bitcoins and they pulled my auction citing a "violation of payment policies."  They claimed that buyers and sellers "aren't protected" because transactions can't be proven.
[...]
I mentioned in the revised auction description to contact me with questions about "alternate payment methods." Do you think they'll pull my auction for that too?

This is clearly against their payment policies, and I'm not sure why you are surprised about it:

Not Allowed
-Sending cash through the mail
-Sending cash or money orders through instant, point-to-point cash transfer services (that aren't banks) such as Western Union or MoneyGram
-Mailing checks or money orders (except for items in categories specifically permitted)
-Paying through bank-to-bank transfers (except for items in categories specifically permitted)
-Paying by "topping off" a seller's prepaid credit or debit card
-Paying using online or other payment methods not specifically permitted in this policy
-Asking buyers to contact you for additional payment methods
-Offering a payment method to some buyers and not to others
-Discouraging buyers from using any payment method you specified in the listing
-Asking buyers to pay using a method not mentioned in the listing
-Paying with Virtual or Cryptocurrencies
These rules apply to all transaction-related correspondence between a seller and buyer, as well as to the listings.
In addition, you aren't allowed to make statements such as:
-"Contact us for payment information."
-"Contact us for other payment methods."
-"Contact us for your preferred payment method."
-"Buyers may request to pay by check or money order."

And how about this http://www.coinspeaker.com/2014/04/03/ebay-adds-new-virtual-currency-category-to-u-s-site/ ? Really strange blocking BTC payment while accepting crypto )

dosn't sound right as long as you give the buyer the other standard option's  Huh

with normal auction sites I though it was ok to offer things like swaps for other products

check out if swaps with not currency property is ok then I think you would be covered

""provide us with a screen print please of their message all we can see is action ending as per normal""

You can add the FRENCH ebay that it deletes all items that it "proposes" the bitcoin as a payment ... the nature of material is not incriminate (i don't sell bitcoin material, it's to sell somes clothes).

Since 1 month, i have added "you can pay with bitcoin if you want" (at the end of the item in normal font).

So, now ... yes, in europe too, you can't use eBay with bitcoin (like cash...).
not a surprise for me (I have read all thread about ban paypal/ebay).

lack of buyer protection is a reason.

Bitcoin as a payment sees them getting possibly less fees.
Allowing people to sell crypto sees them making money from those sales.

Simple business logic, Do what is profitable, ban what is not.

I don't like Ebay but this is within there rules and it's a reasonable rule considering they own PayPal and they aren't allowing other options since they are within the limit.

Because dreamer like you is still possible, that scammer can use this crap service. Easy to cancel the alleged "buyer protection". And what you think who pay the fee really, the seller or the buyer?

Your english is very hard to read.
I don't sell things.
I know the merchants pay the fee and I feel that is how it should be.
They are in business to make money while I am just trying to buy a product.
They probably adjust their price for the fees, eBay still has the most competitive pricing anywhere.

I appreciate that eBay/PayPal have such strong buyer protections.
The internet has many scams and I've had to open cases against scammers more than once.
It is nice to know that if some merchant uses false advertising I can get my money back.

ebay sucks just same as paypal

Have you forgot that both are owned by the same people?

On October 3, 2002, PayPal became a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay.

Paypal was doing just fine, until that fagg0t Persian Pierre Omidyar brought it.

you could put a BTC address in there "payment accepted via 1xxxx..." they can hardly filter that can they? too many addresses possible :-)

But really I am not surprised, Painpal is a criminal org, and part of the Ebay empire, of course they are against bitcoin, bitcoin makes Painpal obsolete, and Painpal only exists because wire transfers are so expensive in the US

die Painpal die  Angry
Ebay dosn't filter anything like Bitcoin and even don't delete after about a word filter. If so, you would not be able to place the auction, because the word filter work BEFORE you place your auction, not after.

All auction which got deleted after place, get reported from other seller/bidder.
