It's hard to teach people how to be frugal, let alone teach themselves that thing. It's like asking a candle to light itself without giving it any light source at all. I know that there are people who are really getting the fun in gambling and are not degenerates, but there are still a lot of people that are looking into gambling as the next big opportunity to improve their income. It's hard to sway their mindset if that's what they continue to believe, although it's never too late for them to change their ways if they really want to. They have to have some kind of support though, because initiating something isn't as easy as it sounds, especially if it contradicts whatever you've been doing for the longest of time.

"You Can't become rich with betting!"

This is my first betting rule. Personally, time ago, I experienced some "stress" due betting even with trivial amount. No fun? Well ok no betting! There is no choice, it's should be a must betting and have fun or yes you're doing wrong.

Please note that people can earn with betting but...it's a job. Literally is a job with all good and bad things related. And of course it requires a lot of time (and why not also expense) be able to be in profit.

I think it is not about playing for fun or playing for profit, it is about gambling responsibly.  If a person knows how to gamble responsibly, he is able to avoid the things you stated.  People who know how to be responsible will never spend the money that is allocated for their kid's college funds and life savings on gambling.  A gambler can be playing for fun and still spend the money allocated for their kid's education if they are not responsible enough to moderate their gambling activity.

People often think that they play for fun and spend many hours playing, as it has been said that people should play with money they can afford to lose, so people take money they can afford to lose. they lose and spend many hours playing, but when they do this, these people also run out of time to spend with family and friends and completely forget that there is life in the real world, these people start to fall behind in their jobs because they spend hours without sleeping because they are playing . and since the person is playing with money that he can afford to lose, he thinks that there is no problem, he thinks that by doing so he is playing a responsible game

Gambling is entertaining because of its promised wealth once you become lucky on your game. The only problem is it’s very hard to have luck on games that design for casino to have an advantage over players.

Have you ever played an online game on PC? Whatever, CSGO, Quake, Starcraft... You start playing for fun and you usually have fun doing it, but there comes a day where you just keep losing. Everybody kills you, you lose ladder points left and right, people get all kinds of luck like run away with 1hp and you're just mad. You can't cope with it. Instead of stopping you keep on playing so that you can end the day with a win, but it doesn't come. If it eventually comes, you're to tired to enjoy it.

That's your "playing for fun" in a nutshell, because it's the same thing in gambling and even in competitive sports.

One would call such a person stupid yeah, and irresponsible, but addiction has nothing to do with being stupid. In fact addicts have often high IQ. Some people just have better control over their impulses, while others are just stuck with their dopamine reward system. That can make people act irresponsibly. Combine that with untreated ADHD for example and you have potential future criminal in your hands.

And i am not taking away anyone's responsiblity of acting this way as adults they are responsible no matter the cause or what i think. But if we don't treat the cause, and just blame someone for being stupid, we shall have way more stupid acts like this in the future.

As I've never had addiction problems, I confess I don't know exactly what goes on in the head of a gambling addict

But here in my case, I set aside a certain amount, make my bankroll, work with that in a championship and stick with it until the end. It's been working very well and I have fun betting and watching the matches. I've even had a lot of success and profits by taking my time and studying the games I bet on

As long as there are successful gamblers who are earning a living out from gambling, the original design for gambling which is to give fun and entertainment will always be underrated. So it’s not actually wrong whether the people will see gambling as a source of living, because a lot can actually prove that it can be a profitable source for wise and professional gamblers. However, since gambling is still luck and chance based, not all gamblers are given the chance to be in profits, that’s why some just resort into enjoying their favorite games even if they are losing from it.

But I believe that gambling as a means for entertainment is a common knowledge for gamblers, and that everyone who engage with it should know that the main reason of gambling is as a source of fun. It is sad to know that there are cases where people came to the point where they spend funds that was set to be use for more important things but end up wasting it in gambling. You should set a fund only for your gambling purposes and remember that your funds for essential things like your kids' college funds shouldn't compromised and affected.

As what we are always saying for a countless time, gamble responsibly and make sure that your gambling activities doesn't negatively affect yourself, your family, and the people around you.

Believe it or not, people's desire to gamble varies, the money used in gambling also has various origins, but as you said, those who are frugal and think are the ones who don't get frustrated/stressed easily when their money runs out in gambling.

I am aware of the money used in gambling, most of the money I bet in gambling is just bonus money, I mean the money I get unexpectedly, that's the money I bet without using personal cash.

The same old topic mate, I believe that when one don't have control over his gambling activities that is when the person will losing all that he has to gamble because he is been controlled by addiction, either if he is sees gambling as a get rich quick means or not.

People that also see gambling as a job that they can use to survive will also end up spending all that they have on gambling because they will be busy chasing their loss and from there addiction comes in, which is not a healthy practice for gamblers. It is until gamblers have known that gambling is for entertainment wether, you loss or not, you shouldn't let it get into your head but have your gambling budget and gambling time frame for your gambling activities.
