The thing is this :

1. Bitcoin Volatility are drawing in the wrong people, because speculators and profit hunters are attracted to high volatility... because it provides for an opportunity to make huge profits.  Roll Eyes

I am very sure, if the novices come because of this problem. Even I used to be interested in BTC because its Votality can make us profit. Maybe if only small traders will not make the market volatile. But the whales can certainly direct where the market will go.

2. Bitcoin pseudo anonymity attract criminals and those people give Bitcoin a bad reputation. So our task is to educated people on the "legal" uses of Bitcoin, so that more "good" people can start using Bitcoin ..than bad people.  Wink

It seems difficult, if indeed they already have an evil nature. Because wherever it is bad people are always there, they sometimes also have more knowledge than good people. So I think it's natural that in an innovation there are always things that are not good there.

People begin to learn something new, most often during a crisis or their own failures.
That's often the case in most instances. My question is always why wait till there's a financial emergency or crisis before doing what one ought to have embarked on under a relaxed atmosphere? As an aside, the case is even worse when you want to teach it to those around you for free. There's often that misconception that things given for free aren't valuable, especially when the person giving it isn't a flashy or flamboyant type. People want to equate one's level of achievement with flamboyant lifestyle. It's common in Africa. In Europe, those who have wealth may live in disguise especially if they aren't in showbiz but that isn't so in Africa. Most Africans like making their little wealth count as a form of intimidation to others.

It's the scarcity that makes it difficult to become a currency we can just use casually in daily life. When I was new to bitcoin, I used it to buy some stuff online like computer games or topup some credits on my mobile phone. But as many years pass and seeing its growth, you will regret doing it and just hodl it as much as you can.
(....)
And also because of the price of Bitcoin why you experienced regrets especially if you use your Bitcoins before at cheap prices. But you should forget and start moving on because we all didn't know how the Bitcoin price will soar high, especially for the last few years, pure speculation.
And also it is somehow because of the supply and demand, especially the scarcity of Bitcoin. That's how Bitcoin works.

This is one of the many reasons why most people starting to use Bitcoin must educate, even basic of how Bitcoin works is a must.

Despite the fact that just a few countries have made Bitcoin a legal tender, the truth  Bitcoin is going to be adopted by the whole world as a decentralized global digital currency.
But One of the set back for Bitcoin adoption is the lack of proper awareness about Bitcoin and the stereotyped opinion of most newbies in Bitcoin that make Bitcoin look like a get-rich-quick scheme, this assumption about Bitcoin has made many frustrated when their investment/holdings in bitcoin go down during a bear market. So there is a need for enlightenment on the key features and purpose of bitcoin adoption.
I have tried my best to educate people around me on the basic concept of Bitcoin and make them aware of the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin adoption and how best to minimize the risk associated with Bitcoin, to attain some level of self-satisfaction through Bitcoin.
IMO, we are the one who is complicating the bitcoin to an average joe because they already know how to use money so if they are supposed to spend bitcoin they can and they will but the volatility of the bitcoin is making it more of an investment and speculative asset over the currency. And then its not really mandatory for everyone to know the technical knowledge of cryptocurrencies just the basic understanding of decentralization is more than enough.

But One of the set back for Bitcoin adoption is the lack of proper awareness about Bitcoin and the stereotyped opinion of most newbies in Bitcoin that make Bitcoin look like a get-rich-quick scheme.
With the news about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies all over the world, i think its wrong to say or believe that people lack proper awareness of Bitcoin, i personally think more than half of the entire world that have access to the internet have heard and read about Bitcoin, but what other factors are stopping every one in this category from adopting Bitcoin? i think that other factor is FEAR, fear of loosing whatever they already have, with the of scams happening and how many investors loose everything, some after hearing or reading such news are overwhelmed and gripped with fear each time the thought of investing in Bitcoin and crypto enters their head.
And on the other hand, those who are bold enough to get in want to make some money as quickly as possible to withdraw so as to prove to themselves that they weren't scammed.
In my area, i have some neighbors down my street, I tried talking to them about Bitcoin one day, and surprisingly, they told me they've heard about it and have also done some research, and when I tired to find out why they haven't invested or aren't investing like every other person in the neighborhood, they said fear, they began giving me instances upon instances of scams that they have read about, I did my best in trying to change their perspective, but then, this is just in my neighborhood, how about other hundreds of millions of people out there that have this same mis-oriented mindset towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general?

Let us forget about the world and talk about us in this forum for a start. How many of us here use use bitcoin as a currency for buying, selling and paying for services? Very little percentage of us right? This is to tell you that the world is not interested to use bitcoin as a currency, rather as a store of value which will appreciate and give profits.
So, if bitcoin Will succeed as a currency, it should start with us.

It's the scarcity that makes it difficult to become a currency we can just use casually in daily life. Volatility is also the issue, many people will not embrace a currency that can make them rich today and become broke tomorrow.

How did you come at the conclusion that bitcoin would be adopted by the whole world as a decentralized global digital currency?
We all love bitcoin and wish the best for bitcoin, but if we can be very objective and realistic with the present situation of bitcoin, we will understand that it is very difficult for bitcoin to become the world digital currency.

Let us forget about the world and talk about us in this forum for a start. How many of us here use use bitcoin as a currency for buying, selling and paying for services? Can you let us know some of the disadvantages of bitcoin adoption?

Today I read the news that in Holland, schools have banned the use of the Chrome web browser and Chrome OS due to a violation of privacy rules.
Chrome, Brave and Internet explorer are not browsers for privacy.

If Chrome breaks it and is banned in Holland, what about Brave browser and Internet explorer, now is Microsoft Edge?

Brave browser is a hilarious browser because they break their product rules for privacy by asking their users to fill KYC.

Only in schools, not all in Holland and it is on-hold, not ban. Chrome is prohibited in Dutch schools due to data security issues. If their investigation leads to more solid reasons, they will make ban, not on-hold like now.

Today I read the news that in Holland, schools have banned the use of the Chrome web browser and Chrome OS due to a violation of privacy rules. What is happening with banks in China, regarding the blocking of depositors' accounts, also sounds like a wake-up call that people are tired of being under constant control. These are just a couple of examples. People want freedom, anonymity, and privacy, and we are hearing more and more calls to fight for a free person.

The times themselves show that learning Bitcoin is becoming not just an interest or hobby, but a necessity.
Fast forward to 2021/2022; they now want to be tutored about Bitcoin. I guess it's because Bitcoin has gained more traction now than it did four years ago.
I completely agree with you that those people who previously rejected bitcoin are still beginning to be interested and learn all its advantages.

People begin to learn something new, most often during a crisis or their own failures. Don't ask why everything is bad around us. It is more correct to ask how I can fix this and what I can do so that the crisis touches me personally as little as possible. Alternatively, learning about bitcoin and how to ensure your savings may be one of the right decisions.

Get rich quick scheme is more correct for altcoins and NFTs, DeFi projects that created hype in crypto market since 2020 and collapse since early 2022 started with Terra Luna, Celcius, Three Arrows Capital and Voyager.
It's more of getting scammed and losing your money with altcoins and DeFi not getting rich quick as most of them are trading in market under pump dump scheme and we have seen million dollar scams in DeFi so 90% of the people loose money and only those who sell out timely make profits.
If people are interested in getting into crypto because of posts about get-rich-quick schemes, they will be disappointed because while altcoins and DeFi can do that, not all altcoins and DeFi can. We know that there are a lot of altcoins and DeFi in the market and unfortunately, we will never know which projects can deliver the most profit. And this is what causes many people to lose their money in investing in crypto because they choose the wrong project. They must learn that investing in altcoins and DeFi can be promising but they must have the ability to find the right project. Otherwise, they will experience the same losses over and over without being able to profit from investing in those projects.

I wouldn't teach or educating people about Bitcoin even I get paid because it will harm my privacy and there's no reason why I should teach them. It doesn't mean I'm selfish, but if someone is really curious and want to understand the whole thing about it, they can start search and collecting many courses on google. Actually you can search anything and you can learn what you're looking for without waiting someone conducting a seminars on your local.

I guess it's better if we hear someone approaches us and really interested about bitcoin and maybe we can teach that individual.

But as far as putting efforts and going out and telling the public about it, yeah I agree that it's better not to do that, as we all know that they might have built their idea on bitcoin already and it might not be positive. And the thing is, individuals also like to put blame on someone specially if they fail. So if by chance they lost their investment because they thought it's a get rich scheme, then perhaps you will get a bad rep and the blame is on you.

I like your effort but the sad truth is that no one wants to learn about Bitcoins.
Rather they want to make quick money from it.
Initially Bitcoin was not developed to make money, rather it has an objective to make the people decentralised way of using the money.
Nevertheless people will only show interest to learn when they get something on return, and therefore if you teach them just merely to give knowledge , then it won’t be as much fruitful.
Nevertheless really glad to see that you are going to your maximum effort and educating people about Bitcoins.

it seems that it is important for us to provide free education about bitcoin, especially when the world economy is experiencing a decline, and indeed very many people provide education about bitcoin for free, a simple example is to families who do not know about bitcoin. because I myself have experienced something like that. because at first I also didn't know about bitcoin, until finally my own brother taught me about bitcoin, until finally I was interested in investing in bitcoin. and also I think it is important for everyone to know about bitcoin, especially when the world economy is in a downturn, because bitcoin will open up opportunities for those who are interested in investing in bitcoin. for long term or short term investment. and uniquely investing in bitcoin can be started with small capital or large capital. so it can be reached by everyone.

There's always a catch when it comes to efforts like these though, I always think so. The real non profits are the guys right here on this forum, helping people out with Bitcoin, helping people understand and use.

It's kinda the fault of all the Matt Damons telling people to be bold and buy crypto.

I disagree that awareness is the Issue. Are you saying that the government that is giving Bitcoin a hard time like China is not aware? and same goes for the rest of the country where the Government is doing the same thing to Bitcoin. The newbies have less to contribute to the general adoption of Bitcoin globally, they are mot even in the system yet and how far has your people's education come through? The fact is, these people that matter "Government" are fully aware of what Bitcoin is that's why they take the stand they took with Bitcoin. In terms of Bitcoin being Volatile, I can guarantee you that the day Bitcoin turns into a stablecoin, its less adoption. Volatility turned out to be one of the major positive xtics of Bitcoin, what do you think is the main differentiating factor when investors start comparing Bitcoin Vs Gold Investment?
People might continue to have the notion of getting rich quickly with bitcoin which shouldn't be, but still could happen.

When speaking to people about bitcoin, it is not done with the intention to convince them to "buy-in". It is done with the intention to make them aware of the present reality. What reality? The reality that bitcoin is now just too big to ignore. The reality that contrary to the past, it is not a fad. And the reality of the future of bitcoin, of what's coming. It is not my job to convince them but to help them understand. I am always willing to engage anyone who cares in a conversation about bitcoin in the bus, train, taxi etc And one thing I notice overtime is that these are curious to know more.

So far, many people know bitcoin because its value is volatile and tends to move up quickly and fall quickly. So it is natural that many people know that bitcoin is used as a tool to enrich themselves not as a means of payment according to the original purpose. This time, many are more familiar with Bitcon as an asset such as a stock that can provide long-term benefits. My country legalizes Bitcoin as a commodity so this deviates a bit from Satoshi's goal. Many new people don't know the purpose of bitcoin, they just want to profit from investing and trading. But they don't want to learn and sometimes won't last much longer.
