This has been a growing challenge, for people to appreciate Bitcoin as a P2P decentralized system more than a digital asset whose price against fiat is rising. But the problem is that real-life situations are actually reinforcing this treatment of Bitcoin. With the unlimited printing of fiat, its fast devaluation; with banks freezing money, charging high fees, offering interest rates much lower than the inflation rate, and so on, you cannot blame the people if they embrace Bitcoin and treat it not as a decentralized currency but as some form of refuge.

But those who treat Bitcoin as a get-rich-quick scheme, don't mind them. A bear market would either prove them wrong and shake them off. Or they would eventually be converted into believing that Bitcoin is something else.

Despite the fact that just a few countries have made Bitcoin a legal tender, the truth  Bitcoin is going to be adopted by the whole world as a decentralized global digital currency.
But One of the set back for Bitcoin adoption is the lack of proper awareness about Bitcoin and the stereotyped opinion of most newbies in Bitcoin that make Bitcoin look like a get-rich-quick scheme, this assumption about Bitcoin has made many frustrated when their investment/holdings in bitcoin go down during a bear market. So there is a need for enlightenment on the key features and purpose of bitcoin adoption.
I have tried my best to educate people around me on the basic concept of Bitcoin and make them aware of the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin adoption and how best to minimize the risk associated with Bitcoin, to attain some level of self-satisfaction through Bitcoin.
Somewhere I also just read about the future of users reaching the 1 billion mark with BTC and what the crypto market says to them. Maybe it doesn't have to be so complicated as people will be confused about the opportunity this market offers. I think as I approach this market that I didn't really understand it before and just looked at it. I see the media talk about the negative that it takes place. But once you've grasped the information surrounding it and seen it as an opportunity for life, it's impossible to resist.

Despite the fact that just a few countries have made Bitcoin a legal tender, the truth  Bitcoin is going to be adopted by the whole world as a decentralized global digital currency.

The acceptance of Bitcoin as a legal tender should not have much relevance when it comes to its adaptation in society, because as we could already read countless times on this forum or anywhere else, Bitcoin does not require permission from any government or institution to be used. Bitcoin is already accepted all over the world, but researches say that it is used in one way or another by about 5% of the total population.
This.
Technically it can be used by anyone around the globe anyway. There were just bans and regulation that the government imposed although it cannot stop people from still using VPN or even doing a P2P transaction.
There is no stopping people from doing such thing.
^ Because this is how BTC was designed. No one can stop and good for p2p transactions.
Educating people was a great help to spread out awareness and I think that is alright if you are willing to spend your time teaching other people about BTC technically or even its usage on it in society. Because this is the problem why BTC has a slow adoption because there are no ads and no one were willing to teach someone else in their free time, for those who are got interest will most likely learn.

Nice job, as a little bit of advice I'd say that while educating people around you about bitcoin you should also be careful not to enforce your opinions on them, try as much as possible to make the process of educating them an interactive session so that you can understand their concerns and know how to tackle them properly.

In summary, do not force them into loving bitcoins rather you woo them into wanting to know more about bitcoins and the advantages it has.

I think the best free education on Bitcoin comes from having to use fiat for international transfers.  At least that's what I used to think when Bitcoin was being billed as a p2p payment network.  I have had plenty of experience waiting on international transfers for both work and personal reasons.  It's always a nightmare where you cross your fingers and close your eyes for a week and hope to have a happy ending that cost you a small fortune.

Try ordering a product from Bitmain with a wire transfer at the same time as you pay with Bitcoin and you will never doubt Bitcoin's usefulness again.

To learn about bitcoin, you definitely need a desire. You can take small steps toward explaining it in an understandable language. And until a person understands one step, it is not worth raising him to the next. In the same way, the understanding of all other things occurs.
That's correct. Let me quickly add that it's not enough for anyone to set out to teach others when those they're trying to teach aren't even ready to learn. As interesting as the topic of Bitcoin may sound, we've to realize that not everyone would want to jump in learning it at once. There are those who will want to foot drag before getting involved in learning it. It could be that the subject of discussion is a new or strange one to them and their skepticism and doubt will make them stay out. Let me quickly share an experience I had with folks around me on Bitcoin when I got into it in 2017. Those I shared the Bitcoin stuff would listen with rapt attention to my preaching but at the end would not get involved because the desire wasn't there. Fast forward to 2021/2022; they now want to be tutored about Bitcoin. I guess it's because Bitcoin has gained more traction now than it did four years ago.
Depends on someones interest because even if you do really show up some hardwork and interest on teaching some people but if their interest is not there then you would just basically wasting your time

and effort and this is the reason on why i dont really make myself do make out considerations on educating people around me.If they would tend to approach then its good but if not then i dont care.

I know its a bit selfish but we know that people are totally different when it comes on approaching on new things. Some of them do really mind off about making quick bucks and on the time you do
tell them about the risk and volatility then they would say up negative things or some people doesnt really show interest which most of them do ignore afterwards.

One very sure thing you have to understand is that you can a take horse to the river to drink water but you can't force it to drink water. What I did mean here is no matter how you teach people about the fact that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick business, you still gonna have numerous number of people that would still look at Bitcoin in that way, because some of them have heard how Bitcoin transformed some people's lives without knowing or taking into account how long those people did invest into Bitcoin (early investors).
Therefore, so far that Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency are still highly voilatile you gonna still have such kind of people in this space until they got to a time when they're mature in the space and I think this is much within people coming New into the industry.

You have really taken a bold step to help people around you learn about Bitcoin without getting material things in return which is much welcome looking at it from the prospect of helping those in you region to learn about Bitcoin. The problem making countries that had embraced Bitcoin are having is the lack of proper education for their citizens to learn and get good knowledge how the Bitcoin network works. Let no forget to teach people around us about the Bitcoin network and how it works.

I really admire people who have the desire and never get tired of teaching others about Bitcoin.  I know how hard and tiring it is to teach someone who originally doesn't know any basic knowledge of Bitcoin.  Unless you have a passion for being a teacher, you will find it troublesome because of the bombardment of questions once they got interested.  Worst is, most of them would like to be spoonfed with information.  So @OP, if you happen to continue educating your friend about BTC, try to make them responsible for the additional knowledge they wanted to know.  The internet is just 1 click away, so better give them the resources where they can learn deeply about the Bitcoin ecosystem while guiding them if they became confused.

Yes definitely one should definitely educate everyone for absolutely free.

Acquiring knowledge has a cost, so it would be a losing deal if you did this one. But I am for free education though.  Grin

It is already evident that Bitcoin is going to be mainstream in the next decade, which will increase the demand of the global digital currency. But, most people do not like getting their hands dirty with any new idea, and it is good that you try to educate others, because they are likely to be more receptive to the idea once they have been properly educated. The main drawback about Bitcoin adoption is lack of awareness.

So if you do not know what Bitcoin is, or how Bitcoin works, so how can you ever understand the advantages of Bitcoin? We should all follow your example and try to help people understand the true potential of Bitcoin and work on spreading the word about Bitcoin as widely as possible.

well the fact that very few countries made bitcoin or crypto as a legal tender and it's seeing all this success is impressive, it just shows how bitcoin and crypto is yet to gro mw, the more adaption crypto gets the more successful it becomes, and educating people about it definitely helps a lot, and good for you for educating people you know, I did the same thing with all my friends and they all at least understand and some joined in, if everyone did the same thing it would really help spread awareness.

Yes definitely one should definitely educate everyone for absolutely free. Upto the maximum extent one should try to distribute their knowledge but obviously there are some skills that you have learnt which you have to sell in order to earn money and not all education can be free so it's even okay to charge minimal amounts for the education that you are providing. Talking about adoption and the way it has grown i feel adoption would grow more rapidly if people would know about the returns of bitcoin rather than the utility behind it.

Most neccesary to provide education about bitcoin to the general public, exactly for beginners, especially when bitcoin is used as a legal currency in a country, there will certainly be many companies with an investment based on behalf of bitcoin. Beside need to change people mind when hearing about bitcoin as investment assets for future. Many people still claimed about bitcoin as the faster way how to be rich, I think when giving education for people what is bitcoin and how bitcoin function will be easy how to chamge their mind about bitcoin investment.

You should keep doing it, educating people to understand the bear and bull season more because new investors are attracted by the profit they can quickly earn but in most cases lacks real knowledge about the different market seasons. Having the basic knowledge of the different market periods will save them from being overwhelmed when the market is down. It is a lifetime learning process because there will always be newbie coming into the space and needing assistance to understand how crypto operate. So my friend, don't get tired of teaching, this is how we can grow btc awareness through the grassroots.

Bitcoin adapting well, but the problem is most newbies join the Bitcoin trend to become rich overnight. It's because they introduced Bitcoin wrongly. I know many people become rich from Bitcoin but it's impossible overnight. It's become quite important to educate people about Bitcoin technology and how it works. Besides that how the Bitcoin price works should know by every Bitcoin user. So that they will not regret upon the bear market.

yes and we are getting closer to that time, when bitcoin adoption would have been unanimously a common thing for acceptability, it had suffered alot already in paying the price from those speaking against it, this more it goes the stronger it became, watch and see within a little space of time the numbers of countries that will soon join the adoption as a legal tender.

But One of the set back for Bitcoin adoption is the lack of proper awareness about Bitcoin

what other form of awareness could be better than the one derived from those that speak against bitcoin, they don't Know that what they do only increases the awareness for global adoption, the more they attack the wider it adoption becomes

and the stereotyped opinion of most newbies in Bitcoin that make Bitcoin look like a get-rich-quick scheme

I don't expect a newbie to come out in teaching a fellow newbie on what he himself barely knows about, that is wrong.

this assumption about Bitcoin has made many frustrated when their investment/holdings in bitcoin go down during a bear market.

this happens simply because those that introduced them to bitcoin does not take time to explain well the risk associated in bitcoin and how they can avoid running a loss instead of making profit, bitcoin is not what you can just explain with mouth within a day or two, it requires a two years + experience to know some part of it.

I think in many places Bitcoin isn't legal tender but many people use cryptos regardless of state policies (Nigeria) or even the state itself is very crypto-friendly (Ukraine). I am not sure about the whole world adopting Bitcoin and the level of this adoption, but I do agree that it is likely to grow over time. Education is important, and it's a noble task to educate people about Bitcoin for free. People should stop seeing Bitcoin as first and foremost an investment, and they must understand the basics of safety when storing and transferring Bitcoin.

I have tried my best to educate people around me on the basic concept of Bitcoin and make them aware of the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin adoption and how best to minimize the risk associated with Bitcoin, to attain some level of self-satisfaction through Bitcoin.

The average person has the opinion that Bitcoin is some kind of internet money that you can buy for a certain price, and after some time sell at a higher price and thus make a profit. If you explain to them that they should use Bitcoin as a currency, most of them will tell you that they have nowhere to spend it anyway, and even if they do, it's too precious to them because they bought it in the first place for profit.

Knowledge is mostly free and available to anyone with internet access, so anyone can research what they are interested in - the only problem is how to filter all available information. I often heard people talk nonsense about Bitcoin, and when I asked them where they got it from, the source would always be the Internet.

I agree that everyone should contribute in order to pass on the knowledge they have acquired about Bitcoin because that is the only way we can fight against lies and misconceptions. At the same time, I always emphasize that we should also take into account our privacy and security, because people who talk publicly about Bitcoin can often become targets of hackers, as well as ordinary thieves.
