We should have him located and sent to prison. The traitor needs to be apprehended and put on trial for breaking his oath and his security clearance. The subject matter makes no difference he is a criminal and needs to answer for his crime. Burn Him!

The Russian Federation is more chaotic and powerful than the alternatives; his choice was probably not political, but strategic. There he is / was able to maintain status quo and is / was able to vanish in respect of the United States of America (USA). A prolonged stand-off at that location is costly to the United States of America (USA). In a few months, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will be economically too exhausted to take on e. g. the Peoples' Republic of China (PRC) in combination with the Russian Federation. Then there's the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will be sufficiently thermonuclear within a few years to defer any invasions of its' territory and capable of sufficiently striking its' enemies a decade or so later. The United States of America (USA) are becoming less and less capable or rebuilding in case of Mutually-Assured Destruction (MAD). Within a few months, they will not want to provoke any type of conflict with e. g. the Russian Federation. You were already able to see this with the Syrian Arab Republic. In reality, World War III (WWIII) will bring fourth an authoritarian / totalitarian government in the United States of America (USA). Perhaps the United States of America (USA) are strategically beyond salvation, but its' people are not – that's approximately what Eduard Snowden is doing; perhaps this type of activism is the only hope the people of the United States of America (USA) have in the long run. The United States of America (USA) supposedly exist for its' people, do they not? In the long run, Eduard Snowden is actually the enemy of the external enemies of the people of the United States of America (USA) and is doing these external enemies what we in the "Republic" of Croatia call medvjeđa usluga – a bears' favor. Remember Nicollo Maciavallis' discussions of republics in Il principe: republics can be occupied, but not conquered, but the discussion was about true republics, not republics in name.

WWIII?  what is this?  I thought bitcointalk was for serious engineers and miners, but in reality it's a bunch of conspiracy theorist anti-governments communists.

You didn't really think bitcointalk was 'or serious engineers and miners', did you?

Try scammers, hackers, spewers of all things inane, salted with some wise individuals that have been here a long time.

Hahahaha fair enough Smiley

I wasn't expecting this level of anti-America.  It's really saddening.

He was #1 a hypocrite, believing that China and Russia are "freer" nations than the US and #2 he has huge amounts of power.  Plus money from ignorant bitcoin miners.
EVERY country is "freer" than the US...

Besides - some news: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_BM3sW34LQ

By the way russian news ask better/more questions and doesn't just act like a tool of the US government.

Define free for me dude, last time I checked republics are a lot more 'free' than totalitarian regimes.

And speaking of tools of the government, that's exactly what snowden is-- for the Russians and Chinese.
And what government brainwashed you? The US?

Ummm... can someone please tell me why Snowden wasn't a downright traitor to the US?  He leaked sensitive US info to two of our biggest competitors, and painted the US security system black.

Also, here's something Snowden fans might want to think about: he left to US complaining about big government imposition on privacy only to seek asylum in China and Russia, both historical and current impediments to personal freedom.  No one can deny that he was a hypocrite.

He betrayed the United States and the people of the US.  Time for Predators to take over.   Grin

Somebody prove he's not a complete traitor.  Why are we giving him money?

complete traitors do it anonymously for $$$ or other benefits.

i wonder if snowden has bitcoins, and if so how many? he had to have known before outing himself that he'd never set food on american soil as a free man, so where else would you put your money? can't put it in gold if you're flying to hong kong.. and he was making 200k/year after all.

Good question.
