Looking good. Any update on the mini's release?

Release is really "Soon(tm)" now for BOTH the dev and paid users.. It will be the same image for both, just different modes based on the license file... a sneak peak of what is to come below (the text in 're-enabled' being off is because of the watermark box).

When this is released, I will be disabling developer fees for a few days as an apology for the time it has taken me to complete this next version.

Thank you,

one thing I noticed is that if the fan is set too low manually on the mini batch 4 the machine will cut speed back accordingly. So if the controller sets the fan to say 4500rpm and you drop it too low the speed will reduce. The batch 4 mini's need a fan simulator and other hw mod to fan to run batch 1 firmware unless you don't mind the fan running 100%

What do you mean "cut speed back accordingly"? Are you saying the frequency and hashrate drops?

Otherwise, I would not expect a "fan simulator" to not act any different than a regular fan in the condition you have described.

Another point on the "batch 4 minis" is that I believe their availability is only mainland china?

Folk,

quick update -- I've finished the major components and I am in the process of "zipping the firmware up". By that, I mean going through the stages of testing, validation, bug fixing, web UI updates and ultimately packaging the firmware itself.

I was hoping to include nicehash support in this release, but so far the documentation I've received from nicehash on why these are not working does not seem to be correct. It could be my own knowledge of the stratum protocol (which is limited), but... the proposed fix is not working and after spending a few hours looking into it in more detail, I've decided to table that feature for this release.

net-net, I should have an image to a few beta testers in the next 24-48 hours.

Thank you,

One thing that could be changing is the code on the PIC on the hashboard. Depending on how it is programmed can explain some differences between the batch hashboards and rates

more likely it's just the addressing of the devices in the chain.

Cool the odd thing is the firmware on it is the same as the firmware currently on bitmain. It only has balanced for freq options.  The batch 1 fw runs fine with only 1 board reporting temp. I ran your z9 2.0d and stock z9 firmware on this mini it runs fine but same thing no temps on any board but it clocks up to 737 stable your fw also unlocked the 4th port on the controller so I could run an extra hashboard where the stock mini only allows 3.

Wait...what??! Ur running Z9 FW on your Z9 mini and it works fine? Shocked

Dev fee version has always worked, the issue has been the temp controls and such which is why I have not been recommending it

Jason

Sorry for asking, ive been using your 2.0D on my mini batch2.

Automatic fan doesent work, but i can manually set it and it works Smiley Using push/pull with 2 fans.
Temp reading seems to work on 1 board i still got numbers on the other boards but only like 15 and 7c.

But my hashrate is fluctuating alot.
With batch 1 firmwire its between 14.0-14.4  Average 14.3ksols at 662MHZ Highest i can go.
With your FW its between 12-18k Average  14.7ksols at 681MHZ

Its kinda like 2board jumps up to 6-8 ksols and one board goes down to 2-5ksols.
next its the other 2 board that jumps up and another one goes down.

are you aware of this? Smiley and sorry again for asking about the mini when your priority are on payed biggies Smiley

and great job btw!  Grin

Ignoring the fluctuations, what you are seeing for improvement is about what I'm seeing in the testing I've done so far (14.3 to 14.7 in your example). On I can sometimes get more out of the units, but it depends on things I don't yet have understanding on.

Hashrate will naturally fluctuate otherwise -- that average (and the work submitted in terms of shares) is really what is the best indicator.

The other items you mention about temps/fans are things I am aware of as I previously mentioned.

Thank you for your feedback!

Correct you lose temp and fan control as Efudd says. If you can deal with the fans running at 6k speed it works but mine is with 10 others and the fans get pretty dang loud for now I will use a resistor to lower the fan but not recommended for long term use just a temp fix

I figured it was a batch 4 now I need the batch 2 firmware dated around 08.12.2018 to see if it recognized the temp and the fan quits running at 5880 rpm. The 08.31.2018 firmware works fine it just cant overclock it set at Balanced only. If I cant find the batch 2 firmware  im gonna run it as is and put a variable resistor inline to lower the fan some

Probably means addresses have changed a little. Ill “add it to the list” and unlock that image later on.

today I received 2 new z9 mini's and found they wont run batch 1 firmware correctly. When running the batch 1 it will not show the temps on more then 1 hashboard but if I use the current version from bitmain everything runs fine showing all the temp's. Tried all the resets and everything but sameissue. When the temps arentshowing the thing hashes finefull speed just no temps which cause fan to run full speed and fault light to be on. Anyone else have this issue on any mini shipped after nov 1st

Eh, that's probably their crappy web interface and nothing more... but it's possible they think they are being tricky.... the fault like thing is a little interesting, but probably still a simple fix if it's what I think it is.

On your miner, go to these two URLs and PM me the output please: /cgi-bin/get_miner_status.cgi as well as the output from this /cgi-bin/get_status_api.cgi

NiceHash: I've generated the traces requested by nicehash and submitted them for analysis. My eye does not see anything obvious as to the failure reasons, so I am reliant on them to provide information in order to try to add in support.

Other: I'm sure I'm forgetting something(s)... more soon.

Thank you for your patience and support,

Jason
