Been always wondering where the most of the coin supply is residing. Coimarketcap shows no volume for this one, and apparently its not traded on major altcoin exchanges. Dont tell me it has been begheld by early birds since 2013.

Pepe is NOT a hate symbol
Pepe was just about to ask for good IPs of full nodes.

Are those that?

EMC
Good news! We are now:

1) Officially supported Debian 8 armhf and devices based on the Raspberry Pi (emercoin packages, emcssh, emcweb 2.0)
2) Released EMC WEB 2.0 to Debian 8 amd64

How to install the Emercoin (client, emcssh, emcweb) to Debian 8 (x64, ARM):
Minimum system requirements: 1 GB RAM or 512 MB RAM + SWAP 1 GB

Just run:

Code:
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv B58C58F4
echo "deb http://download.emercoin.com/debian jessie emercoin" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
apt update && apt -y install emcweb redis-server mysql-server
emcweb-setup -G -C -R="YOUR_MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD"

Please, before executing the last command, replace ‘YOUR_MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD’ with the password ‘root’ user in MySQL (it will need to be set in the installation process).

For install emercoind only:

Code:
apt -y install software-properties-common
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv B58C58F4
add-apt-repository 'deb http://download.emercoin.com/debian jessie emercoin'
apt update && apt -y install emercoin

The wallet (emercoind) is managed via the command "emc" (the user must have sudo rights), for example:

Code:
emc getinfo

The configuration files are in /etc/emercoin/

Just for your info:

HashFlare and HashCoins are the same company & are a proven, verified & well known scam who have & continue to steal from customers who paid them for vaporware & cloud mining contracts.

I would be interested to know why you are promoting them.

importprivkey problem happening, because of Java-script in the online walletgenerator based on the old EC library, and library in the new
bitcoin core is more strict. Thus, some keys, generated online, can be rejected with a new wallet.

Since new library is more secure, and standard for Bitcoin, we will continue to use a new one. If needed, lets online generator updates their code.

Currently, as tentative solution, I can suggest you two ways:

1. After generation, try to import this key into an empty wallet. If successful, you can delete a wallet, and send EMCs to the address without problems.
2. If you already got some EMCs on the account - use old wallet version, i.e. 0.3.7, import key as Fixx suggested, and thereafter copy wallet.dat to new client.

Many thanks for responses! Fixx gave me the advice to try the import with an older version. So I downloaded v0.3.7 and private key import worked very well.

Maybe there should be a hint somewhere that is pointing to this issue. I googled before and I did not find any hint to this problem. Could save time for those who are looking for a solution, too.

They all give me error Invalid private key encoding (code -5)
Any ideas why it does not work?
The private keys are correct. I tried some others which I just created with a paper wallet and no one works. Is this a bug maybe?

This is known bug reported to developers

I need technical help. I created a paper wallet account some time ago. Now I want to import it.

I used the debug console in Emercoin wallet and executed the following command combinations

Quote
importprivkey 6R...
Quote
importprivkey "6R..."
Quote
importprivkey '6R...'

They all give me error Invalid private key encoding (code -5)

Any ideas why it does not work?

I had a similar issue some months ago. You might want to check this thread ~half a year back to find the answer - I think I somehow solved it by including the label thing after the command.

Btw: What happened to the rest of the EMC from the Emercoin idea contest? It has been ridicolously long since it finished without the rest of the EMC being distributed to the participants.
