I am more worried about Ethereum network failing to cope with this ICO.

If I understood the ICO sale terms correctly, the price of the tokens will scale based on the number of tokens available in the ICO round and the total number of ETH contributed in that round. There could be huge differences in token prices during each round of the ICO, later rounds of the ICO could potentially have lower token prices than the first rounds. The varying token price makes me afraid to invest during the ICO.

The first sale is very hot, too  many people buy it. But later, another ICO take the hot place, the ECO token price will down too much. I will monitor it to have a good entry point.

Is EOS turing complete or non turing complete?

The ICO is still on the way, the start date and the price are still to be announced. what you can is staying tuned to wait.

I was wondering if the tokens sold in the first 5-day period will be tradable on the exchanges.

In other words, do the investors need to wait a year to sell their tokens?

This ico is an interesting model. If there is a buzz for it the price will jump up and the Devs win. But if you are not block.one (or whoever gets the ICO cash) then you are incentivized to keep it quiet and even rubbish the coin in public while accumulating as much in private as you can. I think Dan is a genius and am sure this will contribute a massive amount value to the world like all of his other creations but I won't be mentioning to anyone because I am incentivized not to.   It will be interesting to watch and to see if any pundits change their tune after the ICO is finished.

If i had a dollar for every "had i known"
Call me greedy! but as much as i love investing on the technical specs of a coin, i prefer those where i foresee a quick profit. I do realize that a yr long ico creates some form of stability, but that also suggest that the price might not grow post the ico phase for awhile. Also, its fair to say that crypt dev is still at an infancy stage. So i hate the idea of tying up capital for yr, cos a far more exciting ideas might be introduced to the market. I understand that stability is key but i don't foresee this ico picking up real steam till it close to the end of the aforementioned year.

The current market situation proves one thing: cryto has outgrown itself. The existing designs apparently can't sustain the mass public's interest. I think the cryto masters should quickly find a solution to unify the cryto confirmation networks which are running mostly in silo mode. We need a crypto's Swift network.

i assume we can expect that someone would create website to monitoring how much eth donated in single day, amirite?  Grin

you know like old days, ags

You mean during the ICO sale?

When the ICO was beta tested, you could follow the numbers (ETH submitted, price per EOS, per window) on the ICO page. So I expect this information to be available in real time for anyone to see.

yup, correct. that's good.

This is going to be huge, and another pioneering step in how ICOs are run. I just hope FOMO doesn't create a negative experience for everyone

The thing to keep in mind is the massive amount of tokens and the 5% annual inflation. Bitshares has a supply of over 2 billion and steem has 250 million, I would expect eos to have a huge supply as well (edit 1 Billiion eos). The way the offering is going down you will not know the price you are paying per share unless you purchase on the exchanges during the year of the distribution
