from personal experience, i have to say that grau is a content, genuine, reliable and uncomplaining pro.
from personal experience with the trezor device, i have to say this is a great product which i have bought several and which i recommend to anyone i run into that owns bitcoins. respect for the team that developed it.
please meet in person and declare this little misunderstanding officially resolved because it feels bad to keep substantial funds on a device that has "issues" like that.
Thanks a lot 600watt.
First of all there is no need to worry. Funds in your TREZOR are not depending in any way on me, Bits of Proof software or my working relationship with SatoshiLabs. They are stored with the seed known to you only.
The back end that serves myTREZOR was developed by my company and delivered in source code to SatoshiLabs who operate it on their own. The software serves you and many other in unchanged version since months.
There are two known problems with that version:
1. Transactions initiated sometimes are not reported as confirmed until the user closes and later re-opens the browser window.
2. Under a race condition that is seldom, but not yet fully understood the server throws an exception and stops processing requests. The condition can be resolved by a restart of the service that takes less than a minute.
There is no non-trivial software without bugs. None of the known bugs endanger funds or justify a long downtime. Operating complex software usually implies operational care, monitoring, and yes workarounds.
The responsibility for the user experience is shared between SatoshiLabs and Bits of Proof yet it was represented as a BOP issue. This was not quite fair.
Likely both me and SatoshiLabs learned out of the downtime and this thread.
I am a big fan of TREZOR and worked on this project mostly for its success and associated fame. It does not go down well however that most people in this thread mistake Bits of Proof as the thing that one needs to get rid of ASAP. BOP was and is an enabler of this project. The web wallet will likely remain the preferred tool for quite a few user.
I was occupied with other projects for the last couple of months, but have not given up addressing the above issues.
