Sorry guys, there is no option to upgrade from Metallic to Classic preorder. Only limited number of metallic cases were made and they are all being shipped.
they should upgrade als plastic models to the metallic one. problem solved. i dont think a metallic case will cost 10 times more than the plastic case.

and they signed a contract that didn't define any goals the manufacturer has to achieve before he's receiving the full payment??

he hopefuly didn't ask them to implement a minor bugfix for their Dual Elliptic Curve random number generator in order to help them out, haha..

There will be an announcement next week. The only thing that is holding us back are the plastic cases. Firmware is ready for quite some time, but there will be a small change on myTREZOR wallet because of the newly accepted BIP44 (https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0044.mediawiki)

okay if everything is ready beside the case then just ask your customers if they want to get their trezors without case. some guys are able to print a case with a 3D printer in some minutes...
I run 10 plastic injection moulding machines for zipper manufacturing . I am located in India , i ordered multiple moulds from China .
I received my final mould in 4 weeks and the production started in 1 day from those moulds .
I can't believe Trezor team have not even received their moulds yet . Its shocking . If they can provide me the mould design , i can provide them the finish cases in 5 weeks and in multiple color themes as well .
I can print 40 trezor plastic cases in 10 seconds .
