Even then a virus can modify the transaction which you transport to the offline PC

That's why you take one more look at it before blindly (pun unintended) signing & broadcasting it.

I need this thing for my parents as soon as possible, cause I clean out viruses from their system pretty much every other month!

They can still store the bitcoins on an offline PC, use it to for tx signing, and use the online PC for broadcasting the transactions.

The more I think about the concept of this device the more it seems to be intended for idiots.

Hope to have one soon.  It's the only way I'll ever get some BTC.

lolwoot ... once i get this thing I will shitload at least 1 BTC onto it and carry it withme ..

If I'd like to safely store BTC longterm I still use paper

Same here. I'll make it my main wallet for everyday use. Long term is very cold storage.

Looking forward to getting mine.  This month I hope but if it is delayed in order to get it right then that is OK by me.  I certainly can live without it for another month or two.

+1

being as how I have lived without it since the beginning of (bitcoin) time. I would hope I can live without it for another month or two if need be

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.

...
As a reminder, people should not use it as their cold wallets right away. It's much too risky with a new product like this.

WTF? for the last 2 sentences.
This is an implicit prediction that people will use Trezor as a cold wallet replacement. Using Trezor in that way is a risky proposition, because of the tail risk of a new product containing an unknown bug. Also note the "right away" - given time and proper auditing it may prove itself worthy as a cold wallet "replacement".

This is not a statement of mistrust - it's a statement of prudence.

We are all working hard to meet January shipping estimates.
With a product as sensitive as a bitcoin wallet, security requirements beat time to market.

WTF? for the last 2 sentences. It was over a year ago it was started. How new does it have to be to be risky? like bitcoin new?

Fortune favors the bold, and sometimes the bald.
So people paid for their PRE orders with this newfangled thing called coin bits, which apparently gets deflated and then they wine?

Umm, bitcoin is worth $800. Champagne, anyone?
Who gives an over worked poop how much your bitcoin would be worth. Cease and desist, find a rose and inhale using the nose. Then look at how much is bitcoin is worth. If you still want to complain, go back to the rose thing and grab it by the stem.

ps. hrm, ok. That sounded more insightful in my head.

pps. that head thing sounded less crazy in my head.
