Believe that Boom Esports won their match 2-0 because it was quick when I was switching between games earlier.
All the sudden it was over and they were already broadcasting getting ready for the NaVi game.
Had a bet on them but cashed out after they lost map 1. Not sure if they lost the game after dropping first.

Every game they keep always picking good support well Tims always do the game so well with "Senior Abed", in their game one TA pick is not quite as effective as a TB late game they manage to make an advtange with the early game but patience given to BOOM and they hit the first game win imagine the frustration you have the advantage but they have the higher kill potential with ES, Phoenix and a space from Fbz doom and Tims just make Jacky free hit in their game. But a spec draft with DK is so op in lane reason why they spam this and Boom lose the series of 2-1 against Aurora but in lower bracket a hard fight against Talon makes them still qualify.

These closed qualifiers that passwordnow has just mentioned seem to be the only thing going on in the dota2 scene.

There had been some movement in the OG active roster as of late.
Last month Bozhidar "Bzm" Bogdanov transitioned to Tundra Esports. Bzm moved to the inactive roster of OG after TI13. Here is his farewell post on x the end of December:
https://x.com/OGesports/status/1873670876953977218

Sebastien "Ceb" Debs made a return to the team of OG. It is not certain if he will be replacing xNova who is active on the roster.
Here is their current team lineup for the upcoming year:
OG lineup
Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon
Leon "nine" Kirilin
Sebastien "Ceb" Debs (stand-in)
Matthew "Ari" Walker
Yap "xNova" Jian Wei

Oh are having lots of problems lately. Their manager left the team and already has a pro team under the name of OG Bonkers and there are also rumors that BMW will no longer sponsor this team in this year and the only one who could literally save OG is no other than NoTail it self...the real CEO of OG. However,  his intentions with Dota 2 has been cold in the last year and I doubt he has the power to keep this team as a Tier 1-2 rank but I'm sure he will try anything he can in order to either keep BWM as sponsor or replace them with something similar which is pretty difficult.
OG was featured in something I was just watching on youtube:
How One 500 IQ Play Created Dota's Greatest Dynasty

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcVAghrx1UU

Who is this player which made such a high I.Q move in DOTA2 as I was not watching the tournaments last season due to being more into CounterStrike. But now have warmed up to it with watching more videos such as this one I just outlined above.

It does make it much more exciting to watch when you know the history and lore behind such players and the huge plays they had made in the past so to make a lasting effect on the genre.

Have checked how they are all doing and it seems to be all over the table interms of who is a clear winner in each region.
Most of these matches had a clear gap between them and the top tier teams like Gaimin Gladiators and Tundra. So far, the SEA region is the first to surprise me after Talon failed to qualify and they're heavily favored in both series they've lost.

We'll have a WEU derby between Tundra and dyrachyo's previous team Gaimin Gladiators. Both of them 2-0'd their opponents, but Tundra played so cleanly right off the bat and finished their series within 30~ minutes compared to Gaimin's series where they had to grind it out.

That said, it'll be a Tundra pick for me in this series, Gaimin's shakiness is still showing, and Tundra can now roll with a playstyle similar to the previous Gaimin Gladiators where their carry can soak some of that pressure and play together with the team.

Had noticed the team name Yakult's Brothers come up a few times on this thread and never had watched a match played by this team due to them being in the region of China. But they are currently in one of the closed qualifier matches being played with Spiky Gaming.
Other notable teams playing right now are:
9Pandas vs Navi
Wolf Warriors vs Chimera
Gaimin Gladiators vs Passion UA
Team Tidebound vs Xtreme Gaming
Team Turkiye vs Tundra

Have checked how they are all doing and it seems to be all over the table interms of who is a clear winner in each region.

To be honest, I am choosing only a few games that I can watch seriously and if jumping from the other region to another, I'll only take a sneak peek. The games that Boom Esports went against the Mongolz look easy on them and yes, they're quick.

Just watching Fantasy Gaming against Heroic. Think this is a SA closed qualifier because their internet connection keeps dropping right in the middle of the game where they have ISP issues in this part of the world where blackouts often last hours.
Heroic took the first map and then they're live on the 2nd map for which I am expecting that even with some internet connection difficulties, they'll get it.

Just giving some updates about the open qualifiers #1 that's happening in all regions for the Dream League Season 23.

These are winners that are qualified for the closed qualifiers for their specific regions.

WEU OQ#1 -> Team Turkiye
WEU OQ#2 -> waiting

EEU OQ#1 -> Virtus.Pro and 9pandas
EEU OQ#2 -> waiting

MESWA OQ#1 -> Winter Bear, Wolf Warriors, Advance Esports, Kodiak Bears
MESWA OQ#2 -> waiting

China OQ#1 -> ToLight Team, Team Tidebound
China OQ#2 -> waiting

SEA OQ#1 -> Team Essence, Team Kukuys
SEA OQ#2 -> waiting

The other regions that haven't mentioned, the open qualifiers hasn't started yet on them.
Just started watching the closed qualifer between Aurora Gaming and Talon Esport. On the other dota2 official  ESL channel there is Boom Esports vs The MongolZ currently beginning underway right about now.
I've watched that game too, I thought that Talon will have a reverse sweep but Aurora is just too good at map 3. But well done to Talon at map 2, they really made Aurora look like a baby on that game.

Noticed you say this is the 23 season while all the youtube channels I am watching are saying this is season 25.
And the announcer for this Boom game said the very same.
Thought it was it a type-o the other day. No worries passwordnow, all good bro! Grin
Oh my bad, yeah, it's season 25. I'm sorry. Thanks for correcting and reminding me. I stand to be corrected.

Good for Tundra and OG and there seem to be another good move of roster from the favorites, Team Spirit. Welcome back to collapse, yatoro and their coach silent.

He used to play as an offlaner with OG before so he should be fine in filling the role temporarily until they find an actual offlaner. xNova shouldn't get replaced anytime soon, he just got in after being trialed for a while and it'd be a downgrade if they suddenly swapped roles.

Just was searching when the next big tournament was on hltv.org for CounterStrike 2 but the only thing that showed up was this Frost and Fire tournament.
But I don't think this was meant to be a serious one where teams want to make any leadway for their careers to be part of.
After looking up the details it appears to be an online tournament for tier-two teams. It's still a decent tournament for the participating teams because getting a high placement here could bump them up in the valve rankings and potentially earn a direct invite in some of the A-S tier tournaments.

Then again there's still the top seed so whoever the organizers invited for the quarter-finals will probably win it all.

There was one team that looked to be just made of players who play for fun on their time off of work.
Their name is CS2News and a Russian based team probably made just for promotional purposes for their website that offers headlines in the space of CounterStrike.
Just absolutely no creativity to their team name and doubt we will see them after this run.

Some news out of the Faze clan team is they are to release long-time Estonian player Ropz:
https://www.hltv.org/news/40646/faze-release-ropz-tc
It sucks for Faze to lose their best player, but at least they're close to finding a replacement which could be EliGe based on this news post.

jottAAA replaces Calyx on Eternal Fire oh come on, that's what I call a change. Eternal Fire will be completely relaxed on the firepower side with its new player JotttAAA.
Xantares, Wicadia and JottAAA are great, now we can never say that Eternal Fire will be top 5 in 2025.
I thought Eternal Fire was already doing well with their current roster and didn't have to change anything. Anyway, i'll be looking forward to how they'll capitalize on their explosive trio.

I can also say that Calyx was a player who slowed down the team and was a player who could not establish proper synchronization with the team, the reason for this is very simple, because he liked to play the game slowly. The three players I just mentioned are players who like to play fast and can be more synchronized. It's a new era for Eternal Fire now.

They are actually doing a top 20 list that will conclude it's voting on January 11th according to this chart:

This is fun but dota2 has nothing sort like this. It seems cs2 is now really turning the tide around and became the center of highlights for esports huh. Its a sad truth but dota2 is being left by the mass. In 3 years ahead, cs2 would surely takeover dota2 in term of annual tournaments prizepool
We will have to see this if CS2's prize pool will overtake Dota2's. I think that there's still some exciting years ahead for Dota 2 but it's sad that you're right that this might happen.

So anything good to bet on? I take a look at liquipedia and it seems that tier1 tournament on cs2 will be back on late January, around the same time as tier1 dota2 tournament. Its been a while since I bet on any esports game
It seems the majority are on a break, let's wait for a week or two and maybe there will be some actions. Belgrade will be on 24th of this month but DreamLeague qualifiers are there to start maybe the next day.

I have noticed this trend too. And it makes me sad to see how Dota 2 is becoming a game that no one wants to develop and think about how to make it better. All the layouts have become disgusting. Previously, players were pleased with the distribution of sets of heroes for free, and now the prizes are some kind of loading screens of poor quality. And all the plots are not interesting. And all my teenage friends play CS2, they do not find Dota interesting at all. Valve is not working on attracting a younger audience.
