For Dota 2 people here, we're seeing left and right roster changes from different regions. There's this sad moment in the Chinese region but it's just all about the retirement[1] of a known player there, Paparazi. This is an era for those players, bettors and fans.
[1] Paparazi retires from competitive Dota 2 ahead of TI12 qualifiers
If there's someone who retires then there's someone who do make out a comeback.

Ceb leaves ‘EU retirement home’ to officially rejoin OG’s Dota 2 roster
https://dotesports.com/dota-2/news/ceb-leaves-eu-retirement-home-to-officially-rejoin-ogs-dota-2-roster

The only person whom i do wait for some comeback on Dota 2 scene which is ANA or simply liking to  see that old roster of OG but in todays era on which there are
lots of changes in patches and there are lots of teams which are rising stars on the scene. It is really that hard to make out those predictions on who would be able
to win this years "The International".

After Riyadh Masters, Ceb might have thought that it is not enough for just one tournament. He really misses professional DOTA, I think that is why he is back to OG. OG did not perform that well in Riyadh so Ceb has to log in serious grind hours to catch up with the current META. It is just a short time before the TI qualifiers start.

Speaking of The Internation, DOTA has released the new format for the Group Stage of TI 2023.

Quote
In the new Group Stage format, instead of two groups of ten teams playing for four days, four groups of five will now play for two, with the bottom team in each group getting eliminated. This means that every team will now only play four games instead of the previous nine, making every game impactful to a team’s final standings in the group.

Source: https://www.dota2.com/newsentry/3674426239851301040

I like this new Group stage format since every game will be important. Unlike in the old format where most of the team's goal was just to win 1 map to get a good place in the group, this time, every map is important. There are only 5 teams in each group and 1 is sure to be eliminated. Every map and every win is important to be sure not to get eliminated during the group stage. We are ensure that we will see exciting games as early as the group stage.

@boltz I am not so sure about that.
I remember G2 Esports in their last tournament where everybody expected them with Niko and m0nesy to do the exact samething: Just dominate the other team in these championship rounds.
But they didn't and ending up leaving with no silverware to speak of for their efforts.

I have a feeling ENCE will do some exceptional things and will extend this to the maximum amount of maps if not take all three maps.
With those roster changes at the beginning of this tournament they seemed to come out of nowhere to show they are a team that have it all locked in when the pressure is on.

Very good prediction @boltz !

Apex and his Team Vitality could not have a good match on LAN, actually they played terrible as they got destroyed on the deciding final map.
I think they are known as choking at these semi-finals and it was a fluke last season they made it to the finals and won.

ENCE were the define champion performance in this match-up and deserve to be in the finals in Cologne against G2 Esports who just beat Astralis in a 2-0 beatdown and also looked in form for their battle in tomorrow's final.
SunPayus was the standout player for the underdogs today and they will need him and Nertz to show what they have when the pressure of winning it all is at stake.

Yep , finally some good bets on my side as well but I didn't expect G2 to beat Astralis 2-0 but I do see G2 winning against Ence today and lift the trophy. M0nesy and Niko are in god mode right now and I don't see anyone that could stop these 2 from taking their angles to peak and kill.

SunPayus is a next star in my opinion and he will be a problem for G2 today as long as they don't let him play his AWP. Grin

For now, i'm looking forward to the LoL playoffs (LPL and LCS) that'll happen during the weekend.
Makes sense. LPL's looking as strong as ever and LCS is in massive shambles so I don't really expect them to win this playoffs. Plus Doublelift's not playing since he's still in the hospital so i'm not really keen on watching lol. He's the only person besides Faker that makes me watch these games nowadays cause the game's just so linear after 20 mins, you pretty much know which one's going to win soon as that first turret falls before plates.
I don't follow the Valorant scene that much, but if i'm going to pick one team, it'll be Fnatic since they won the VCT Masters Tokyo.
Same bet here, Fnatic is going strong here and they aren't really showing any signs of stopping. Although paper rex shows real promise and a game is coming up if I'm not mistaken. They'd open the VCT game if I'm not mistaken and will be fighting against DRX.

Even if Vitality looks better in Cologne this year , I do have faith that Cloud 9 will take the series today as this team is becoming more and more solid and Sh1ro is not even on the team right now so that says a lot about the true potential of Cloud 9.

Also , a safe bet would be over 2.5 maps and maybe try first map Cloud 9 as they like to pick 1st map.  Wink

Awful bet from my side yesterday and I've ended up losing both of my tickets on Cloud 9 but they were so close to win 2nd map but they ruined everything in overtime ... . I also think that Apex had his best CS:GO match of this year when it comes to LAN and I don't see it happening again today against Ence because this team is so unpredictable right now.

Funny or not , I don't see 3 maps today but what do I know ? my bets are not on point lately  Grin Grin

On top of that, Ax1le will be playing, so we could expect a better version of Cloud9 in the playoffs. A sweep is still possible for Vitality, but they're more likely to drop a map if they don't get the ball rolling.

I remember seeing you mention somebody else had a 4k earlier in the week during this tournament on another thread. I saw the clip and it was nice too see those while they happen live.
That player was Nertz from ENCE, the timing of the Heroic players retaking the site and his spray down was unreal.
Yes it was Nertz with the 4k from the clip after the match that I watched of that earlier match were they were down a man and then he went nuclear.
He must be doing well on ENCE since they made it to the semis happening in an hour from now.
Team Vitality vs ENCE then Astralis vs G2

Okay, the one teams that have not had one along with Navi.
The IEM Cologne matches restart early in the day tomorrow and run into the weekend, so we are not short of an CS:GO tournament action.
Unfortunately, Navi also had a couple of roster changes they picked up three new players (Aleksi, jL, and iM) while electronic and Perfecto moved to Cloud9 that's why they've struggled to survive in the lower bracket.

G2 was the other team with good results (including ENCE) and hasn't made any changes after the off-season.
Watched so much ESL IEM on Wednesday, had the two overlapped.
I remember looking at the teams and saying nobody was cut from the same team roster as last season, so it was G2.

Flamez having a 4k was impressive so I think he is comfortable on his new team. I remember seeing you mention somebody else had a 4k earlier in the week during this tournament on another thread. I saw the clip and it was nice too see those while they happen live.

Cloud 9 is in the quarter-finals which is about to begin in the next hour and h0bbit is looking good during these IEMs.
I like the over 2.5 maps for both matches happening with Team Vitality vs C9 and Heroic vs Astralis.
No Faze clan who were last years champions of Cologne.

Anybody excited about VCT starting soon? I feel like nobody's talking about it lately on this forum when it's one of the biggest FPS games out there, and with a tournament coming up soon there should be no reason we couldn't talk about it yeah?

I'll start the discussion for anyone willing to participate lols.

We have a pretty solid roster of teams out here, new faces in the crowd too which is really exciting. My bet is on Paper Rex not because they are the best team out there or whatnot but because they are entertaining to watch, they make Valorant entertaining in a sense that they don't go for the methodical beaten path playstyle but instead focuses on outrageous plays. How about you? What's your bet?
Heard about a Valorant tournament starting up soon just didn't know when it was planning on beginning so thanks for informing us all about it.
As ralle14 above has mentioned, it isn't really gained popularity here on the forums yet. But I have posted about it around when I first started the thread.
They did just recently get more funding by sponsors I believe so that is why more excitement is occurring for the sudden surge in exposure for the esport.

A surprise were Ence defeating Heroic. They must of had a roster change same as Team Vitality but for the opposite effect due to them going down to G2 in the earlier matches as well.
ENCE didn't make any roster changes recently, they're just meshing pretty well as of late and it all came down to some clutch moments in Mirage. I hope they make it in the final and possibly face a rematch against Heroic as the back-and-forth shouting made it entertaining.  Cheesy

Navi were looking strong at the beginning of the IEM in Cologne beating Faze but then when I checked on the game with Astralis they were in double overtime. They eventually lost on the final map.

Team Spirit is good in countering picks and also in slowing down the game to give space for yatoro and have him his farm and items. I think with Team Liquid, they have to restrategize if they've been reusing strategies again and again. Like if for Talon, the fast game worked for them then they should have at least tried a different strategy if that fast game didn't worked for Team Spirit. Whilst zai and nisha has always been a performer, it seems that every fan is putting blame on micke.

They did try to change things up, but Team Spirit is way ahead of them in this tournament. It is the little things that they do that put Team Spirit to be better than Team Liquid. Like when have troll warlord on Yatoro and they are at a big disadvantage, the supports itemized to make troll better.  Eventually, Yatoro was able to catch up and they won the map. Aside from Yatoro always on point, like he knows where to go to avoid Liquid and when to push for the kill. That eventually put fear on team Liquid and you can see that they are very afraid of Yatoro. They cannot complete a high ground push even when they are way ahead. Team Spirit is just a better team in drafts and execution.
When there's too much prize money a on tournament, Team Spirit won't let that slip. Well, that play with troll for Yatoro. Truly props to the supports as having a troll is like having a sure minus one whenever there's no longer an ulti and bkb on it.

Micke is a shit carry and always picking up that Drowranger on which it would really be just that so easy to kill and you could really see that Yatoro is really that a good and aggressive carry unlike Micke.
I wont really be that surprised if he would be leaving the team or would be kicked out, it is really just that a waste on seeing zai and nishas effort on trying out to baby and carry out their carry most of the time.
Early gaming strategy against Team Spirit wont really be that effective considering that their drafts is always that versatile on which they could really be able to give a fight even if the match would
really be lasting from middle to end game.

It is really just that been turns out to be that normal that Team Liquid do always end up on second place consistent.  Cheesy
True, I like more yatoro as a carry than micke. Yatoro seems to be careful yet quick in farming and at the same time whenever his team needs his backup, he's there. Well, the curse of former EG has been transferred to Team Liquid for earning 2nd at most of their tournaments.

@ralle14 & @jakelyson I too was placing bets on the IEM Cologne as well but lost the G2 esports match.
All teams were looking pretty much the same except for automatic but Navi looked exactly the same from what I remember from last year.
Team Vitality had two players that were from other teams and now have Spinx and Flamez on their side:

This is going to be a great tournament and didn't know the prize was a million dollars thanks for that information about the Intel Extreme Masters jakelyson!

Micke is a shit carry
We shouldn't put most of the blame on Micke for Team Liquid's loss in the grand final because they wouldn't have made it this far several times in a row if he's that bad of a player. They failed to win another grand final, but it's not the end of the world when they're that close to winning their first trophy with this great of a roster.

Navi vs OG did not go as I thought it would be. OG gave a good fight and was able to force a third map. On the third map, Navi was just better and won the series.
Both teams are shaky with their new roster and I have to bet against Navi on the lower bracket semi, as I still think they're not good enough to make it in the playoffs.
