Team Liquid fell short again after losing 3-1 to Team Spirit in the finals, and the series is almost the same as the upper bracket finals, where they started out strong in the first game, and then Team Spirit started to click on the remaining games. Team Spirit's team fighting was overall better after that first game loss, and they punished Team Liquid so hard in the third game by countering their Io Lesh with an AA pick. In the fourth game, Team Liquid tried to gain an early lead but failed because Team Spirit is always getting something back.
Team Spirit is good in countering picks and also in slowing down the game to give space for yatoro and have him his farm and items. I think with Team Liquid, they have to restrategize if they've been reusing strategies again and again. Like if for Talon, the fast game worked for them then they should have at least tried a different strategy if that fast game didn't worked for Team Spirit. Whilst zai and nisha has always been a performer, it seems that every fan is putting blame on micke.

They did try to change things up, but Team Spirit is way ahead of them in this tournament. It is the little things that they do that put Team Spirit to be better than Team Liquid. Like when have troll warlord on Yatoro and they are at a big disadvantage, the supports itemized to make troll better.  Eventually, Yatoro was able to catch up and they won the map. Aside from Yatoro always on point, like he knows where to go to avoid Liquid and when to push for the kill. That eventually put fear on team Liquid and you can see that they are very afraid of Yatoro. They cannot complete a high ground push even when they are way ahead. Team Spirit is just a better team in drafts and execution.

Micke is a shit carry and always picking up that Drowranger

I do not think he is a shit carry, but they were just out drafted and outplayed by team spirit. They were executing perfectly up until they faced Team Spirit. GG and Team Liquid has been the top dog for this year and have played most finals. It is bound that other teams will eventually break them and uncover their tendencies. It is not a coincidence that both teams are dropped by the most unlikely teams. Team Spirit has been mediocre this year up until Riyadh Master.

I do not know if Team Liquid is not happy with Micke anymore and they would replace him but I do think that it will not happen this year. Maybe after TI but not before. It will be hard to go to TI with a new team mate you and expect them to be able synchronize automatically. I think micke will still be with team liquid and if he underperforms again in TI, then maybe Team Liquid will break this current line up.

This is the result of my bet today in Intel Extreme Masters Cologne.

I got G2 vs Faze right. G2 was able to sweep Faze in their series 2-0. Never expected it to be a sweep and they could easily beat Faze but they did.

Navi vs OG did not go as I thought it would be. OG gave a good fight and was able to force a third map. On the third map, Navi was just better and won the series.

Micke is a shit carry and always picking up that Drowranger on which it would really be just that so easy to kill and you could really see that Yatoro is really that a good and aggressive carry unlike Micke.
I wont really be that surprised if he would be leaving the team or would be kicked out, it is really just that a waste on seeing zai and nishas effort on trying out to baby and carry out their carry most of the time.
Early gaming strategy against Team Spirit wont really be that effective considering that their drafts is always that versatile on which they could really be able to give a fight even if the match would
really be lasting from middle to end game.

It is really just that been turns out to be that normal that Team Liquid do always end up on second place consistent.  Cheesy

But I manage to bet on Game for over 40.5 kills and I won.

Good for you, at least you were able to get back what you lost from Team Liquid. I cannot say the same for me. Well, there are other e-sports that we can bet on.

Speaking of other e-sports, Inter Extreme Master Cologne 2023 is going on right now. I have been very busy watching the Riyadh Master that I ignore CS:GO this past week. Now that there are no more DOTA games playing to watch, we can all switch back to CS:GO. This is also a good tournament and it have a million dollars prize pool.

I have the chance to bet on the current matches.

Natus Vincere vs OG. I am hoping for an upset on this match up. Even though that OG is currently underdog in this match up, in the past tournaments, OG have shown some life and can give upsets to favorite teams.

G2 Esports vs FAZE.  G2 has been very good lately and Faze has been on a down hill. Even though G2 is underdog in this match up, I know they can defeat Faze like they have done multiple times before this tournament. Fortunately, I was right in my prediction and G2 did not fail me.

I am also lost here. In the upper bracket I bet on Team Spirit against Team Liquid, and I won.
And on the championship, I bet on Team Liquid because of their momentum in beating Talon Esports 2-0.

But I manage to bet on Game for over 40.5 kills and I won.

Team Spirit is on a different level in this series. Yatoro is a god in all those three maps that team spirit won. This is specifically visible in the third map where he exactly knows where to be and when to push for the kill. Team Liquid is noticeably afraid of him.

Larl is syncing perfectly with his teammates and Yatoro is back on his top form. What a time for Team Spirit to be in perfect form, on one of the grandest tournaments of the year and so near to TI. I have been doubting them this whole year because of their mediocre performance in the past Majors and other tournaments but they have my trust now. They decimated Team Liquid. They are back in their form when they first won their first TI. I will still be rooting for Team Liquid and GG on TI but Team Spirit is definitely on the top to win it all in TI.

I placed a bet on Team Liquid to win the Riyadh Masters 2023 Finals series. I should have stuck to my plan to place a bet on Team Spirit since they won the upper bracket finals against Team Liquid. But after the performance Team Liquid have shown in the Lower Bracket Finals, I gained confidence that it might be a different result against Team Spirit. Team Liquid again failed to win the first place. It has been the same for them for the last 3 Major tournaments and now in Riyadh. Team Liquid is slowly turning out to be the new PSG.LGD of Europe.

Congratulations to Team Spirit for winning the Riyadh Master 2023.

Currently the final between Spirit and Liquid is 2-1 with 3rd game draft on-going and I do hope we will get a game 5 as the hype of this final really proves to be real.

I feel bad for Talon as today they really tried to play european draft and they lost both of them due to lack of having consistency of playing that draft against strong players and teams in SEA region and that's what hold them down in my opinion. Overall , a mega 3rd place and a well deserved prize pool for them.
Just seen the result of the match between Team Liquid and Team Spirit and the winner of the tournament is:
Team Spirit
https://www.dexerto.com/dota2/riyadh-masters-2023-scores-schedule-teams-prize-2193238

The one team I hadn't heard anyone talking about until now when reaching the grand finals.
So they must of been the dark horse team to win the Riyadh Masters 2023 and winning the $5 million prize for taking first place.

Talon has given me a lot of losses in this tournament. I never expected them to win in their matches in the upper bracket. I never bet against them on the lower bracket and just decided to take over maps and still I lost because they just overwhelmingly beat 9Pandas 2-0.
That's sad but at the same time encouraging to see that they're able to win against Gaimin Gladiator. Later on we will see if they'll be ending with a 3rd place against Team Liquid or they'll proceed to the finals against Team Spirit. This Riyadh Masters so far is the best IMHO.
I am sure that many did saw a lot of actions and thought that it's gonna be GG again that will end up with that 1st place cash prize but they don't. I am sure that later on with their match, they're going to ban broodmother so if it's not the first ban, I am sure that they'll remove that hero for zai.  Tongue

I do hope Talon wins the next lower-bracket series since we might see another banger of a series between them and Gaimin Gladiators if they'll be the ones to advance in the next round over 9 Pandas.

They did win and with a very strong performance coming from 23Savage. He totally dominated the second map and 9Panda can't find a way to come back from the game. I thought it was going to be another long game since almost all of Talon's game are late games.

Lots had been saying about the plot armor of GG despite on being on the lower bracket and able to survive and now trying out to climb on finals. We are now waiting for TS vs Liquid on upperbracket finals
and having those Talon vs 9pandas result outcome would face GG.

I also wonder if Talon will receive a penalty because I saw a Reddit thread pointing out that 23savage violated the rules during their series against Team Liquid.

Talon against Gaimin Gladiators is now on their third map on the Lower Bracket Semi-Finals. They are holding their own against the European powerhouse. If they win, they go against Team Liquid for the Lower bracket finals. I kind of want this to happen because Talon and Team Liquid's match in the upper bracket is epic.

We've been getting used to for Gaimin Gladiators to be playing on the Upper bracket but now they have fall down on Lower bracket because they have been defeated by Liquid in Upper Bracket quarterfinals on which it

causes for them to go into the lower but still able to climb up beating up Quest and BB which that 3rd game is really that crucial and that disruptor and darkseer combo did made the trick on closing up that game.
Their loss was inevitable in the third game when Gaimin Gladiators stalled long enough for the Medusa to catch up in networth and BB's Batrider support was always getting caught when initiating a pick off or team fight.

We have a incredible DOTA today in Riyadh Masters. I think I have seen the best matches in this tournament today.
I agree the quality of games is almost at TI level. The remaining teams are playing their hearts out and won't back down until the ancient goes down.
I can't agree more, the games that have been on Riyadh Masters are top notch and for sure next year, the teams are going to be giving more time on this tournament prior to TI.

Gaimin Gladiators are still breathing and surviving. The last hope of the many about them being beaten by BetBoom is all gone because they've won against them for today's last match.

Gaimin Gladiators are playing dota at a high level as usual, while watching the interview of Quinn by Tsunami. Bro, he's hyped while asking Quinn because he knows that their situation ain't new that going through the lower bracket isn't a thing for them.

Yes, that was less thrilling but each team do everything what it takes on closing up the game considering that prize money or pool isnt something that you would joke about.

Counterstrike major is going on in Cologne with the Intel Extreme Masters play-in matches right now.
https://www.hltv.org/events/6812/iem-cologne-2023-play-in

Its not quite the same as a Major but big money event for sure it matters to ranking etc.      Win a major and you are immortal in the game, name engraved on the trophy and so on.   IEM are long term sponsors, important for sure.    I believe Valve do help sponsor all the big name event type LAN so Im being picky, its quite close to official.   Valve called in all the big 'partners' to talk about LAN format and how they wish contests best to proceed, I would have to find a source for how that might alter in future.
I think the teams are still settling in and its all a bit unpredictable.  The age of Astralis domination is over, I dont mind that so much they were kinda too perfect for me same as old Fnatic kinda irritated me for some reason.  I feel its best to be careful on these bets, not at all clear how teams are developing.

No luck at the IEM in Cologne for Imperial Esports as they just lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas after going into OT and losing the last map. They had Grayhounds number in yesterday's play-ins and 2-0 the Australian team but just couldn't do it against a more experienced team in the Ninjas.
One team to look out for are TheMongolz from what they did to the new FURIA team it was a surprising 2-0 win and the exact same to Into the Breach yesterday early on in these Intel Masters Extreme tournament trials.

I've lost on this match. I thought that GG will take Team Liquid but that's a proud moment for Team Liquid especially for Insania since they've always been beaten by GG for the whole year in different tournaments. As for the lower bracket match of GG against Tundra, they've won 2-1 against them. It was a match of former TI winners and major winners.
I also lost my bet on that upper bracket series, but only a portion of it since I got to cash it out before the odds started moving to the side of Team Liquid.

And speaking of GG, they're lucky to get away with a series win against Tundra earlier today. They made an impressive recovery in the games they've won, but I wonder how long they can hold on because it feels like any team can knock them out based on the two playoff series they've played so far.
They've been through with two teams for this day. First with the Quest Esports that has even had a bad ending for Quest on their first game because of technical difficulties. TA2000 even typed "FAIR PLAY" when they're about to go in mid barracks but ended up badly and GG won that moment. The last one was with BetBoom, it was an exhausting day for them and GG should have lost against them ending with 2-1 but still GG proclaimed as the winner. It's hard to be in their position when they've been through serious games and make it or break matches on this lower bracket. Anyway, they will proceed to the next round and will have to wait for the match of winner of Talon and 9Pandas. Even possible to see Team Liquid and GG again in the finals. LOOOL

Waiting for Game 3 against BB vs TS and making some bet on TS this time. Odds arent that bad at all.
Congrats on winning your TS map three bet. It all crumbled quickly for BetBoom when GPK's Ember Spirit died at the top high-ground siege without any buyback.

I do not doubt GG. They are still in their top form but the competition is getting better. In both their map wins yesterday, they were down 20K gold but they know their timing and what their core needs to do. Dyrachyo is heavily carrying the team. Even when Quinn loses his lane as long as Dyrachyo hits his timings, they can recover. It is not the best scenario for them but provided us with a very exciting series.
Fair point, even in their series against Team Liquid, they still recovered when it hit the late game and made it feel like the game could go either way despite the big gold lead that Team Liquid accumulated.

We have a incredible DOTA today in Riyadh Masters. I think I have seen the best matches in this tournament today.

The first is between Team Liquid and Talon. They are equally matched and team fights are epic. The last map was non-stop action and team clashes. But it is heartbreaking how Talon lost the game. I thought they have secured the series after the last team fight when they won and were about to break the throne, but Brood Mother has other plans. He beat Talon in breaking their throne. Zai has single handedly won the game for team Liquid. He made the plays and the pushes that eventually won the game for them. I really thought Team Liquid was going to drop to Lower Bracket because it was clear that Talon was going to win but in the last seconds, the camera spanned to the radiant map and Zai was pushing. Epic game.

Then there is the last series of the day. Team Spirit vs Betboom. It is a long series with the third map currently the longest match of the tournament. Team Spirit was trailing all the way, but they never gave up. They persevere and take the game to the late game where Void is the strongest. It is proven in this tournament, even if you are trailing over 20k of gold, if you take void over the 60-minute mark, you can win. Team Spirit has done and won over the favorite BetBoom.

It is not over yet for the two teams. Betboom and Talon are still in the series at the lower bracket. And with the way they are playing, they still have a high chance to go further in this tournament.

Incredible matches today and couple that with a win on my bets, it is perfect. Two consecutive winning days for me in Riyadh Master.

Did make out some parlay choosing up Team Secret against 9Pandas but it turns out to be sweep + Betting on Talon Esports vs Liquid on upper bracket semis which it did make things worst.  Cheesy

Now im betting on Betboom on Game 1 and Betting on TS on Game 2, ending up on being that reversed or totally opposite results. Totally unpredictable i would say. Past performances or match
ups dont really that be that precise if you do try on looking back with those match ups and statistics because outcomes and results would be on their next possible match would be entirely be still
random. It all matters on the hero drafts and execution with some mix of luck.
