While I am waiting for stake to list some other dota 2 games for the PGL Wallachia, I've put a bet on IEM Cologne 2024 for CS2. This is in the lower bracket quarter finals Team Falcons and Virtus.Pro, I guess that this is an advantage for the Team Falcons @ 2.15.
That's a value pick on Team Falcons, both of them got at least one map on their previous series, but Team Falcons lost to Mouz who's one of the top teams while Virtus.Pro lost against Complexity that's similar to their level.

I still don't have the confidence to pick a team so i'll go back with the overs and I think it's a good bet for this series. It's an elimination match so i'll assume each side will take their map pick and easily push for a third map.

I normally do this when I think that the odds are quite acceptable and if the team is notable and might be able to defeat the opponent. Anyway, since there are not that much updates about Dota 2 recently except the few tier 2 tournaments like RES SEA and PGL Wallachia open qualifiers, I might just share this one here about Team Secret, look who's remaining on the roster.

I think that Puppey will reform the team for the next season. Is he also becoming like kuroky? Hmmm. What do you think?

Now it is last chance for us. There is like nearly half an hour left for the game against The MongolZ. The current odds are literally the same on TrustDice, 1.85. Let's see who wins. The MongolZ can be unpredictable. While Eternal Fire have just lost an important game, they will look for a way to benefit from our condition. They beat us in the Skyesports tournament by 2-0 recently. This makes me concerned but we will see how things turn out.
This series was more competitive than expected, but the MongolZ still pulled through in the deciding map. I thought Eternal Fire should've won the series after they were up 8-4 in the first half of Nuke, then they started struggling in the T-side and almost lost in regulation. Eternal Fire's players put up some good numbers throughout the series, but it's not enough to win them the series as the MongolZ execution was just better when it got to those crucial rounds.

After every series yesterday went to all three maps, I think it's a good time to ride with the trend and i've picked Faze's series because they're not in their usual form after losing to G2 and NiP at the recent Blast tournament.

Yesterday, they lost against Complexity and the next match-up got more difficult as they'll now face the MongolZ who could send them packing once again.

The odds slightly favor Eternal Fire, but i'm backing the MongolZ to qualify since we could have another 2-0 series if Eternal Fire falls flat for the second time.

Yes, unfortunately we lost.  Cry  Losing on the map we picked really sucks. Dust2 lasted really long though but we still lost by 19-17 there too.

The winner faces Complexity to make it to IEM Cologne. Complexity which has a ranking of #12 could be a tough opponent. I guess Complexity would be favoured by odds. I'm thinking of betting on EF if we make it there and if I see the odds at least 2.00.  Tongue

I also heard some rumors going around about Team Secret trying out new carry players as Crystallis won't be with the squad anymore.

Currently, there's already $1.6M as a start to the prizepool as for Valve's share. But as the date comes, they will release such as battlepass to increase it. They should do better this time so that many are going to buy and contribute to the prizepool. I'm not expecting it anymore that they'd break records of high prizepool that was won by Team Spirit. And whenever these compendiums/battlepasses are released, you know what's exciting at those times? The prince of Saudi.  Tongue

Riyadh Master was $5M so yeah TI should be atleast over that amount. Kinda feels awful when TI's prizepool is way lower than Riyadh Master. Keeping it to atleast $8-12M every year should be pretty ideal amount
I think last year the prize of Riyadh Masters was more than the TI2023. So, as for checking, Riyadh Master 2023 was $15M in prize pool.
Whilst the TI2023 was only $3M and both of these tournaments was won by Team Spirit.

And speaking of TI, I've read that Quinn spilled the tea that there's someone who's going to miss TI. I have no idea who's talking about but it might be malrine from Team Falcons? That's my guess because he's the only one that I can remember that has got some visa issues.

I dont think its Malr1ne, he is a russian and there are tons of other russian players so it would be pretty weird when he is the only one with issue on his visa. Im guessing it could be either 33 or Fly, they are both from Israel and iirc 33 had visa issues before as well
It's possible that it was him, like the last other tournament, he wasn't able to play for Team Falcons. The other Russian players are fine because they've got to travel before the war happened. But it's also possible that it could be either 33 or Fly. There's also a reason for them about their country, although it's going to be only 1 person.

Got 1-1 on this, the other bet that I've made cancelled by stake but it should have been 2-1 for me though.

IEM Cologne is in a distance of only 3 days from now.  Smiley  It is one of the biggest tournaments in CS2 with a $1m prize pool.

Source: https://www.hltv.org/events/7436/iem-cologne-2024

Currently we are in play-in stage. The opening matches are underway. Eternal Fire v Falcons has started and the 1st map is Vertigo. EF like this map a lot so I hope they manage to turn it into advantage. Nuke is next and Dust2 is the decider. If we win on Vertigo, I think we can do it on Nuke too. They are our best maps.

This is the last day of the group stages for the RES Regional Series: SEA #4. I guess that the odds are quite interesting for the upcoming matches and they're all best of two. I wanna bet with some draw on these three matches left but it seems that I'd go with what I think that these are going to be straight wins for all of them. I hope that I am right but just gonna love and enjoy the games.

I didn't noticed that and now that's making me more excited.

Yeah I wanna know how much will we get for the prizepool this year though

On how high the level and how much the purchases he'd do.

I was even sure that OG would win the tournament. They were top 1 on both Swiss Stage and Round Robin Stage. Nouns had lucky win against OG otherwise it would be a clean sweep before the playoff. Imagine that you play so good on those two rounds only to lose twice against Team Liquid and Execration then got knocked out of the tournament. It was so frustating to watch
I also can relate to your frustration, they're so clean throughout the first two stages only to crumble within the next two playoff series and I felt dumb betting on their side thinking they're too good to lose against Execration. Tongue

They'll probably put out another lite compendium the same as last time, and with the starting prize pool at $1.6m, it should reach $2m-$3m but it might not be big enough to beat the Riyadh Master's $5m prize pool.

There's also Team Liquid who barely edged 1win after a five-map series in the finals, we already saw it coming as they're the heavy favorites to win this tournament, but they still made it sweaty and i'm impressed with 1win's performance as I first thought it'd be an OG vs Team Liquid final.

These two still the ones that have faced the finals. And guess what? 3-1 for Xtreme Gaming, they're able to beat Team Spirit in the grand finals. Way to go for Xtreme Gaming. A chinese tournament, of course they won't let a non-chinese team slide on this one.
Congratulations to Xtreme Gaming!!
After Nigma Galaxy took Team Spirit to a third map, I knew Xtreme Gaming would secure the win against Team Spirit since they've been shaky and the flex picks are next level from Xtreme Gaming, they always make it look easy.

Yeah, both teams are like to be expected when they enter the grand finals. XG did great and they didn't disappoint everyone. And for Team Liquid, despite falling first on the semis against 1win, they're able to move back beating Boom Esports in the lower bracket and then going back against 1win in the grand finals. Well played for both teams and 1win has such a good experience on this tournament as this is the first time that I've seen team reach that far on a major tournament and have faced a good team. As I've said about Team Liquid, when I bet on them, they make me lose and so I didn't bet and they've won.  Grin

Boom Esports knocked out Execration 2-0. They've ended 4th going home with $56k. Waiting for the semis to happen, I've posted the update on the other thread.

Expected, Boom was just better than Execration. I used to say that SA region is probably the weakest region overall but looking at it now, SEA region is obviously the worst for now. I cant recall the last time any of the SEA teams actually had decent achievement on tournaments
I'd agree with you about that. I think two years ago, it's said that South America region is the weakest of them all and we'd see teams from SEA to be one of the strongest. But meta has changed, retired players have been a lot and the competition has always been tough. Experience has been more with SA teams and there's been a buff with the teams there because players from all other regions have also played there.

Anyway, 1win is really surprising to some extent by knocking Team Liquid to lower bracket 2-0. They lost to Team Liquid 2-1 on the Swiss Stage so probably none would have expected 2-0 win from 1win
I was really surprised with that. Team Liquid is putting me down, I don't bet on them that much but when I do, they are always losing.

Anyway, this is for reminder to everyone. We are exacly a month away from TI 2024  Wink

Yeah, a lot of teams are on experimental mode but this is tough if they're on an official tournament like the Clavision. And with the current match that's being played now as of typing this, Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming are on. First win goes to XG.
Quick 2-0 for Xtreme Gaming, Team Spirit was just getting outplayed on both maps and their drafts had low damage output against Xtreme Gaming's lineup.

XinQ is crazy on this patch, played Timbersaw support and then Tinker too. XinQ did washed his face on this tournament, if you know the meme behind that!!  Tongue

Support tinker and timbersaw on pubs coming.

While for Nigma Galaxy, they've won awhile ago against G2 x IG and then later will be playing against NaVi.
They somehow survived against NaVi and surely this is the final stop for them as I don't think they're good enough to stop Team Spirit.

I made a ticket with them winning later and over 2.5 for the Boom vs. Execration match, Execration lost 2-0 against Boom in the group stage, but I think it'll be closer this time now that Execration took out OG.

I have bet against Nigma on that match and bet for LGD Gaming as the match winner and fortunately, LGD didn't disappoint. We'll see LGD versus Team Spirit tomorrow.
Nicely done on LGD, I wasn't sure which side to choose based on their group stage results and thankfully I avoided a losing bet because I would've picked Nigma Galaxy.
And that escalated quickly, LGD lost against Team Spirit and then down to the lower bracket and lost against to NaVi. They're already out of the tournament. While for Nigma Galaxy, they've won awhile ago against G2 x IG and then later will be playing against NaVi.

I mentioned in the other thread the bet that I plan to take, and i'm still set on the two top teams (Xtreme Gaming and Team Spirit) to advance @1.66 keeping it simple with the moneylines.

With the new patch dropping yesterday we could see teams experimenting, but I still expect the skill difference to show between these teams.
