There's far less hype around ETH than around Bitcoin, at least when it comes to the mainstream media. So I don't see Ethereum overtaking Bitcoin at any point. Not to mention that Bitcoin has a massive headstart.

I do not think that the etherium will take this bar at the end of this year next year, this goal looks achievable but not this year
Its too far to reach 1K by the end of the year, maybe it took 3 to 4 months from now. But ETH plays a significant role in cryptoworld which enables us to access our token to convert in real money. Hopefully it will hit 1k in the nearest days:)

If you just look at the graph now, it's battling the ups and downs and leaving it stable on that part. So bottomline, i speculate that it can't reach $1000 before 2017 ends. I think eth will not yet reach $1000 by year-end. Yeah sure it is pumping and getting stronger but my guess is eth would reach $1000 by end of 2nd qter 2018

Only happen if ICOS cashing out at the same time, but I can't argue with it, ICO gathering a lot of ETH and will eventually some of it even if it's gradually.but it's only the reason of why Ethereum gaining the 2nd highest market cap, people hunting it to invest to some ICO, it's like, people hunting 1000 coin and this coin will eventually be sold again but different holder.

Like you said, it might be able to reach a thousand in a few or more months but it is much unlikely for it to reach that at the end of the year because of bitcoin's trend and is popularity nowadays.

In January I remember people predicting bitcoin would rise to 2000 usd this year and people called them crazy. A $1000 ethereum is really nothing in the grand scheme of things.

What is a good price and what is a right price will depend a lot of how the miners will react after full implementation of the PoS. They will mine less, and might move on to other alts if the price cannot go up. People say it was undervalued all this while but I honestly still cannot place ETH as a utility coin. Even with the hundreds of ERC20 tokens and more coming up, if that is the only utility, then it is unnatural. Therefore, $500 is already a good pricing, I agree $400 is the more realistic one.

There's a chance that this will happen this year but we have to be realistic. For me, ETH can be $1000 by the 3rd quarter of 2018, why? see there's a movement of price in ETH but it is slow compared to BTC. I know there's a big difference between the 2 but I think by the end of this year is 1ETH = $750.
