The amount of stolen funds is not so much to influence on the price of ETH or any tokens, but the fact of the DEX hack shows its vulnerability. Thanks God that I didn't make any tx after the hack.

Damn nothing is safe. How much security can you provide after all. So much efforts and resources are just going into securing things, which could have been used to develop and evolve the systems.......

You can actually see in the comments that so many people lost their funds to this address, but thanks to decentralization, nothing can be done.

You can see your funds in that wallet, but you can't do anything!!! Not even the ETH devs and team can. So much for the decentralization. Guess ultimately the law of average wins. No system is perfect, neither centralization nor decentralization.  Embarrassed

I used Etherdelta to sell all of these beautiful airdrops last three months. So, it is time to say - "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish"
I wish good luck to devs!

Stay away from Ether Delta though. There is something funny about those dudes in charge anyway. I seen them list coins on their exchange that are clear scams meant to confuse and manipulate people. A respectable exchange wouldn't list those coins.

It also looks like crap compared to other exchanges.  The site is slow and an utter hog to try and do anything on.  It's way too cluttered.  I have some EthD on there and will leave them there for the time being.

very surprisingly if etherdelta hit by hackers, I feel confident with exchane etherdelta to be used as the safest exchange but now I feel worried about my funds are still there. hopefully can be fixed.

Is this real? I tried entering etherdelta a while ago and since my browser have some sort of security and antivirus protection it warned me ahead of time that the site I wanted to access is unsecured etc so I did not continue.

How is this even possible?  I thought the whole point of decentralized exchanges was that something like this couldn't happen.

I don't have money there. But I am still very upset. Because I have money on other sites.
I think hackers may be one of the big issues of cryptocurrencies.
Always keep your money safe! Wish whoever see this post were not affected by this.

Firefox specifically warned that I should not go ahead with etherdelta link  I usually type and I was worried, So I decided not to log in. I think if people are observant they may actually be safe from this kind of attack!  Let spread the word about this hack please!

I read the news too and I am worried about my fund on that site. I hope the team of etherdelta can solve this problem so we don't have to worry again. if there is a way to move our tokens from etherdelta, then I think we should move for temporary to stay away or avoid the attacker to penetrate into our account.

Here is a useful post on the subject stickied to the top of /r/ethtrader. It includes info on how to get your coins out of ED without having to go to the compromised website:

Heard of this already, DNS server attacks are super powerful, kudos to Etherdelta who acted quickly to let the people know what happened.

The only thing they did was to make a tweet 2 hours after 250+ ethereum was already stolen. They could've disabled their website because even after they made the tweet, hackers are still transferring eth.

Disabling their website would've done nothing. The Domain Name Server was attacked, it translates the etherdelta.com address into an IP address of a different server. You could say they should've fix the DNS, but any changes to DNS take time. And yes, maybe they only found out 2 hours late.

Yes actually it would've done something.

Another thing they could've done was contact the host of the scam website so they could take it down, but ED didn't do that. Even the operators were surprised that ED didn't contact them, it was the users who did.

On the first place companies holding tons of money should invest at a higher rate than cybercriminals. Hope this works as a warning for other wallet services
