I really do not believe in these type of periodically movements somehow impacts the price in the future. Just because there are ups now doesn't mean it will be up later or just because there are downs now means downs later. Ethereum is doing fine right now and will continue to do fine, do not be worried about all the small movements and believe me that ethereum will eventually worth a lot as well.
I think over 800 dollars is totally doable in a crypto situation, it is not really something that you should be worried about if you see small dips here and there those are just crypto volatility and it happens to every single currency as well. The future is bright for ethereum and even before 2.0 we are already this high which means we are going to see even higher.

We can always presume that the market will really be having that flip out which means it can potentially switch to alt market where the probabilities of top altcoins increasing would really be there and the market had shown out those kind of probabilities which means it can happen anytime but not one would able to predict out the precise numbers or days on reaching out that moment.

Just like you said, no one knows exactly.We are in altcoins season with so many fork coins and good news about certain coins in last 2 months, so we can expect the impact this month because of these news. However, once the hype is over and there is no good news remaining in this world then things starting to go really bad or even worse like in 2017-2018 era. My suggestion is don't take the hype so seriously and don't expect anything higher than reality.

Not really crazy if you think about it,,, $600 means it is only about 30% more than this year's ATH. And $800 is only needs a push of 75% to break the highest price ever around $1400.

Ethereum is in more strong position now as compare with last month before the launch of 2.0 so that I also believe in the very beginning of the next year it will get succeed to enter into 4 figures price range. Now is not the right time, but you are not too late to enter the crypto space, Ethereum has experienced a tremendous increase since June 2018, but it's still the beginning because the price of Ethereum will go back up after Ethereum 2.0 is launched. You don't have to wait for a dump or be bearish to buy Ethereum, because it will take a very long time, moreover you say you want to invest in the long-term, invest wisely, because only you have access to manage your money properly. Having that mentality will allow you to take the longer road, if you are aiming for long-term investment, then ETH is always good for you to take, the current value still buy-able if you are positive with all the upcoming developments, and consider the last time high it's still far from what the current value now.
