As you could see, just before the fork, the price collapsed due to the found vulnerability and the postpone fork date. The part of people who wanted to make money on the fork bought coins just before this moment, and they did not have time to sell them before the collapse. Thus, they suffered a loss due to unforeseen circumstances.

Disclaimer: I already own 15 or so different altcoins for long term hold, that won’t sell for several years.

I’m looking to purchase before the fork, investing maybe $1k, for a short term profit. Hoping the prices rises, I can sell before the dump. If there is the drop in price, these can also be held longer term until profitable.

Thoughts?
Yeah that would be good. A truly business minded individual should not make any trade with losses. So if the coins value still.not profitable to trade what you said about holding it until profitable is a good attitude. I just hope that it was being applied to you and you walk the talk. If you are looking for a good altcoin that even in bearish market still increases its market price then search for CHT tokens.

I don't think it's worth investing in Ethereum right now, as its price is more likely to continue to fall. I think we'll see the price of $ 80 again soon. In a bear market, it is better to wait.

I hope you had made some profits before ETH dropped to around 120$ this week. And I feel it will rise up again as the last week of February approaches. I just don't get why a reschedule is necessary, I think I miss something.

The hardfork had been rescheduled to last week of February so this will be a long wait and you can observe with the price movement of ethereum before the hardfork. There could be a chance that the whales will take this as a chance to get more ethereum before the hardfork so we may see a price dump on ethereum after a 2 or 3 weeks. Hardforks always is a great chance for short term profit but be careful on what price to enter.

I think you can buy ethereum now, because now the price of ethereum is also starting to rise, so you also really will get a lot of profits.
I agree that now you can buy Ethereum but it is better to sell it when the price reaches 170-180 dollars

It seems to me that in the conditions of growing market cryptocurrency will be a good decision to invest in Ethereum for the long term.
Obviously, this is a good coin that will grow in value over time after the market has risen, and then it will be possible to sell it profitably.

with the decrease that occurs in Ethereum at this time until its position is displaced by XRP from the best altcoin, that does not mean Ethereum will experience continuous difficulties. Ethereum is still the best altcoin at this time that has a large volume and a clear concept, only takes time to be able to fix and develop again. You can make a long-term investment for Ethereum.

I have the same thoughts as you in this matter. But there are different ways we can do it. I bought at least 1000 coins that are currently low prices for me to hold, and I will not sell even though the price starts to rise. I want to hold on for a long time.

This is the right thing you did, try to wait for a while. The price of Ethereum is very fluctuating and it is very likely that the low price hitting the bottom is a stepping stone for ETH to rise higher and higher  Grin Cool

Not what was expected. this time hardfork ethereum in my opinion was very disappointing because the increase did not occur so much and it actually happened that there were many problems regarding the hardfork controversy

The best time to buy is during it's bottom around the $80-$90 range before the fork and just hold for a month because it peaked at $150++ if I'm not mistaken so that is the best scenario for doing short term profit.

Above $100 though is too much of a risk, but who knows, we might see it attempt to breach $160 range. So try to weight your options and be mindful of your exit strategy as well.

I can say that now you should not invest your money in altcoins. I think that prices will be even lower in a month
some people are still in a state of confidence in investing, only those who invest must be more careful and can analyze the current price.

I hope the ethereum fork isn't just for a short term profit. And right now the price of ethereum are still low, it should be a good time to purchase and keep them until it rise.

I mean, I totally agree and follow the intention, rich in the short term. That I believe is possible, but there are some other signs that prove my actions and your words will be correct in the near future  Shocked

There are no sure on this pump. as we have seen the BCH FORK before after it happened and reopen the  transaction and exchanges.
BCH fell so hard for more than 50 percent in the market.
ETH my rise more than double or it can also fall, we are not sure.

I believe that investing in Ethereum is a good idea, even though its hardforks launch was postponed until February. I am sure that after hardfork does take place and the network will be updated, the price of ETH will increase, so you need to buy more coins to make a profit in the short term.

An advice for every investor who has read from a financial book. Don't expect to sell at the highest price, so sell early even though it may not be as profitable as the investment reaches the highest value.

Yes, I think this hardfork will be a short-term profit for investors. And I see the price of Ethereum now too low, so after Hardfork the price of Ethereum will probably be strong and stable again.

Maybe after hard forks that will change, but I do not think that it will give some really powerful impetus in development. All the same, I assume that the situation will change for the better, so that the whole market moves in the direction of growth, and not just some separate part of it.
