Isn't this silly.
There is BTC and everything else is called Altcoin.
But BTC is rather outdated, rather inefficient compared to some mighty fine alt coins out there.
If one could let all coins do a survival of the fittest run based on performance/possibilities BTC would be placed pretty low.
BTC is up because of sentiment, nothing more. And since BTC is held for a large part by moguls, I hope it'll be reduced to 1 dollar or less...
To me cryptocurrency should be about equality, and it should be decentralized. BTC is none of that, so I hope it perishes.
Sentiment however, it's a worthy antagonist. So I probably go to my grave on a day putting me in the ground costs 0.001 BTC.

Long term, there is no way this coin will fail. Might even bet bigger than BTC. Market cap is not that far away. Also Vitalik is a big power figure.
If the block size of bitcoin is kept below 2MB, ETH will overtake it.

It is practically very good investment. ETH has always been to its promise making investors happy each time. ETH is closely related to bitcoin and it sings as the bitcoin is singing. It will rise like the bitcoin taking leap towards moon. Big mines are being build for mining ETH also and thats why it is getting more popularity now a days. Im for sure will keep investing in this currency as it can make a great deal in the near future.

Bought some ETH and I will monitor it for now, ether is gaining quite a lot of shares in the digital market. Giving it a shot and see how it goes, this is an alt worthy of noticing, if it turns out well, I'll invest more in ETH

You don't buy when it's up, you buy when it's down. But I don't think people are obeying this basic rule, and by looking at the marketcap, a lot of people can get burned out of it.
When it's high now can be very low after a period of time, your logic is very good but does not work always, to be in topic Eth is a good altcoin and at the same a great platform for other altcoins to ise this platform for their tokens and I think Eth is the best altcoin (it's better than Litecoin).

Moreover it moves as the bitcoin is moving in the market. The direction is straight and the set up is running with full speed for ETH. Also more and more people are getting into ETH mining as they think it is more simpler than bitcoin due to the difficulty of former. So it is worth investing into ETH now a days as it will bring nice future towards us real soon.
Ethereum is good, but I think it can't overtake bitcoin as the no. 1 crypto-currency. It should create its own path and so that it will be not compared to bitcoin. Currently, the price is very strong which is a good signal for a lot investors. One advantage of bitcoin though is that its fast with regards to transactions and the fee's is not as high as bitcoin. I think this will be the major point why btc investors are going to Ethereum now.
