Ethereum will become core cryptocurrency in 2,3 years ahead. Smart contracts, scalability, transactions per sec, and others atribute will push him up. Even now we see whole new ICO-s space full of ethereum based tokens. But Bitcoin and other BTC crypto cousins will exist and be developed throw own path.
There is a chance that part of bitcoin's capitalization will pass to eth in 2018.
But price for etherium will not be so high because supply of eth much more than btc.

Etherium have a chance to replace bitcoin but not in near time. Need longer time than i imagine.
But for a couple years, bitcoin is not able to replaced.
the future of ethereum makes the investors who hold the coin ethereum can be rich, because I believe the price of ethereum 3 to 5 years can be the same as bitcoin prices now.

Bitcoin is the base of all coins in crypto world, there are lots of next generation coins including ethereum but it just can't surpass bitcoin. Bitcoin is the main coin of cryptocurrency so I think no one will surpass it. Is ethereum going to be next bitcoin?
Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and it had a new idea that everyone supported and still support it to this day, and that is what made it so successfull, so there will be no other cryptocurrency that will be like bitcoin, ethereum is a good currency that has a good idea and it allows diversaty in the market by allowing project owners and poeple with ideas to create tokens to get kickstarters on their projects, and from this idea i think that the ethereum will bloom and become a good cryptocurrency, it may not reach crazy numbers like the bitcoin but defintly it will grow even more. ETHEREUM wont replace Bitcoin, but, it is always next to Bitcoin. If you compare the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum, you would say that it wont gonna be the next bitcoin. Also the number of Bitcoin in the market versus the number of ethereum, you can really tell that Bitcoin will always be superior among altcoins.
It has some features of it: known to many so many are likely to invest in it, and as btc rises too high eth will be more attractive

Etherium will not be the next bitcoin. Because etherium is much better than bitcoin initially. Bitcoin is hype. Etherium is a high-tech platform.Ethereum is past , present and the future itself. Since the day one ethereum had the potential and vision to be one of the best coins around and for me it's the best alt coin out there in many various aspects. In the future we will probably see some competitors to ethereum but that will also force ethereum to improve it self. Considering all these things i'm very hopeful about ethereum's future.
You don't consider looking at those top at the marketcap, do you? Ethereum probably is the second that's following the lane of Bitcoin but how about those under him in the marketcap? BCH, LTC, XRP, these are the examples that were going to be the next Bitcoin in line, although ETH was there in the first place that's some of them are still following but you'l never know. We can't predict what the future will bring, so good luck on holding for every single altcoin you have right now they will be a big help to you in the future. 
Ethereum will not be the next Bitcoin and there's no reason why it should be. Bitcoin is pumped heavily by whales, which made the price so incredibly high. But with the high fees and long transaction times, it will remain something for investors rather than a decentralized currency. Ethereum has the future, because it has more potential that large companies will make use of.

Wait until Casper is out and we might have an ETH miracle with its price. Maybe overtake bitcoin.
Is ethereum going to be next bitcoin?
People have said its next in line to succeed bitcoin but we have a long way to go before this happens and IMO it has some advantages over bitcoin that could make it the perfect heir to the crypto throne...things like fast transaction times make it a good option and it is quite a stable coin for investors looking for a cryptocoin to invest in and it has a lower risk rate.
Bitcoin still has a firm foundation and is still the mother of all cryptocurencies.Ethereum still has alot of developments to embark on.Not withstanding that,ether will still soar high in 2018 because several upcoming ICOs depend on ethereum platform.

I think they will live in parallel, but ETH can take #1 market cap place no doubt. Dev team too good

If Buterin will do something with scalability - then yes it can beat even bitcoin! And founders of Ethereum working hard so I think Ethereum have big chances to beat Bitcoin!
It can be yes, but after 2-3 years from now. It has a great potential and huge suply. You won’t be sorry investing in it, because it can make you richhhh. But is so high now to buy, check out HIVE PROJECT, one of the best and hottest coins on the market now.
He has good chances to become the second bitcoin, but I do not think he will exactly replace it. Although in the future everything is possible. As for me there are still some options that can replace bitcoin in the future.
