ethereum is a coin that is better, but if you say bitcoin is not as a crypto that may well be less precise. because bitcoin has already become the first coin that is not ethereum

Presale is live!
Ehtereum isn't the future of crypto. No way. Bitcoin is here to stay. I will admit Ethereum is a great platform to make your own token for a business or something like that, and advantage which Bitcoin does not have. Tongue

eth is a altcoin indeed, there are many new altcoin coming out, its probably to replace eth oneday, but btc will not, its the base of cryptocurrency as the time proved
Yes now BCH is giving strong competition to ETH, so in future ETH will be replaced by Bitcoin cash. Now already the BCH value is high to compare to ETH. If this coin start to gain more reputation, then there will be one day BCH will replace ETH. But Bitcoin is the head of all these altcoins, so no other coin will replace BTC.

I agree that Ethereum is gonna be one of the most strong altcoins that are gonna be on the crypto market, but definitely Ethereum is not gonna be better than bitcoin. It is simple, bitcoin is the #1 on Cryptocoins, its like saying that Silver would be better than Gold, that is impossible and that would never happen, considering that ethereum tokens are being hacked every month.
What you say is true, the best altcoin is ethereum, and it is impossible to compete even better than bitcoin.
We do not yet know exactly what will happen next year, if ethereum continues to innovate, the possibility of ethereum price will be high, but still can not beat bitcoin.

There are two correct comments. i completely agree to you, ethereum is an altcoin and gonna stay as an altcoin even though it increase.
BTC is a Bitcoin. This is not a fair comparison.

I believe that bitcoin and ETH should exist in parallel and complement each other in the world of crypto currency. However, the first was and remains bitcoin. This has already happened historically and it is necessary to reconcile with this. Efiriumu and bitkoinu, it seems to me to clash and not compete.

Quite the opposite. Ethereum dreamed to be the future, but it is not. Bitcoin is the future, and it is the cryptocurrency.

ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.
Leave the discussion about the article that is placed in the link , come at the main point of the future of bitcoin vs ETH as a leading currency .
Here you are saying that ETH have future but not bitcoin , how can you say , Are you thinking with the favour of the mining earnings ??
Because mining of ETH is profitable more than what we can make in bitcoin .
Here main factor is to see the users demand , the demand of the bitcoin is increasing rapidly and supply is getting down rapidly , so you can easily understand how much the bitcoin is profitable for those who are users only .
If you will see toward the profit purpose for miners then beside these two coins you will se bitcoin cash is also a option and that is only created by the same team which is operating bitcoin.

I think there is only room for one crypto coin to be accepted in payment systems for the next few years,,
Bitcoin has already infrastructure and most popular than eth,,
I see no reason why shops should do the additional work for accepting another crypto currency,,
Eth/etc is something for traders, while bitcoin is something for users

Not until the price/cost per transaction reduces.

I am not paying a $4.00 USD fee to buy a $3.00 USD cup of coffee with BTC.

Is there or has there been an ICO for a project which will allow you to buy whatever with a cryptocurrency card but which also converts whatever crypto you're purchasing with into Bitcoin for the shop owner?

Actually, could someone do something similar but with ERC-20 tokens and Ethereum? I imagine that would be a successful endeavour

Soon we will see the position of bitcoin at number 2, and ETH is the top one, I really do not like to use bitcoin, long transaction and big cost. Unlike ETH, the transaction is easy and the cost is very cheap

Maybe next month!  Smiley

No, Ethereum is just another Altcoin. Ethereum can never beat Bitcoin no matter the situation. Cool

A lot of my friends, who were also among the well versed in bitcoin said that etherium has a great potential thats why they mined using multiple units..
They said one day value of eth will soar high which will really be competitive as compared to bitcoin.
But despite of all these things bitcoin will still be the number one cryptocurrency...
And it will continue to do so for years to come, we can now call it as the foundation of cryptocurrency.
