Reading the beginning of this thread is interesting and made me pause and consider how products make it big. Obviously coins need to stand on their merit but someone mentions how eth had some strong advertising when it was new. It made me think about how a lot of times the best product doesn't necessarily win, it's the one that is easy to use/the one everyone has heard of.
ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.
Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.

Yes your thinking is something right and i agree with you because now a days Ethereum is really highly growth coin from another alt coin and this coin is favorite for all traders.I always trade with ETH.

If the javascript community becomes a hint to ethereum, they will start integrating it with everything whether it makes sense or not. The Microsoft has done is saying hey we will let you install your ETH shit on our cloud services. I hope it's like what the ripple exchange has where you can make fast payments during this time

I agree with you, Ethereum is very undervalued coin right now, and it will cost$ 1500 after half a year, but bitcoin is also good should not be thrown out with the bath.
I think both are still very important and valuable in the world of digital currency, just look at the ethereum began to rise again the price

I think it's not objective or just opinion
i think your statement is wrong .. eth can't win .. but for the future altcoin i think eth can .. you can see if you compare bitcoin vs eth see the price is very different .. eth lose .. and see from users .. eth lose because bitcoin used in more website and big site like steam , amazon etc .. so if you want compare .. you mist compare alt vs alt .
Both will play their own role in the eco system. With the anount of attention bitcoin has got, its never going to give its No.1 position to any other coins in the near future.

Both does have the potential to grow and we've been seeing them to increase in good times and affected in bad times. I don't think that ETH is the future of crypto, it's just a follower of bitcoin and bitcoin is the original. Bitcoin is the future of crypto and though ETH has the smart contracts still bitcoin has whales of investors so I'm have a strong feeling that ETH will always be in the second spot. 
I really believe in the Etherium, it's really ideological. Next year, the team will unload a huge set of updates and news. I believe that in 2018 ETH will cost about $ 1000.
I guess at this time, there is some concern about the future of both subject if discussion because right now, the future seems blurry based on current happenings and its something we don't know when it will end or recover but for me, I would still choose bitcoin above Etheruem simply because of the level of adoption/penetration bitcoin has garnered over the years

so far eth has a very good potential, plus every ico sure they use eth to store their coin, bitcoin is currently a lot of trouble, plus chinese stop trading with bitcoin, but that all not mean bitcoin will fall, we just see progress ,,
Bitcoin is the first blockchain currency and ehtereum is most popular altcoin at present. Both are important in the cryptocurrencies world.
