Ethereum has proven itself, over the years, as a good and reliable coin. Besides, it has consistently been the second most used coin after bitcoin.
So I wouldn't consider Ethereum as a bad coin to hold. There are people who bought Ethereum and held it when it was just sold for a little over 5 dollars and now the price is over $300. Consider the profit they will make by selling it now or holding for sometime more.
I'd suggest you invest in both bitcoin and ethereum in a 70:30 percent so as to be on the safer side.

Look man, for me, I see both bitcoins and ethereum as great investments and the most safest choice of investment that a newbie can ever think of because both of them have already been in this industry for quite some time and have proven a lot to all of its supporters. Although bitcoins have a greater edge, ethereum also can make thousands of profits depending on how much a person is willing to gamble and how good he is in selling high and buying low. Both of these coins have pros and cons and can either make you rich or broke depending on your capabilities and determination to learn more everyday.
So all in all, I would choose to divide the my investment funds equally on this two or in a 60-40% in favor of bitcoins in order to be more secured with my investments.

One thing is noticeable that the growth of both Bitcoin and Ethereum tends to be in the same ratio, but in the recent dumping of coins Ethereum has faced a lot of criticism due to which Ethereum is very under-valued at current time. Both are having different concepts now. Bitcoin is a father of coins while Ethereum is getting mother of Tokens. So both have there importance. And both are getting stronger due to there use.

Yes both are good in terms of investment, if we go for btc it should be real to wait because its the main process here and the value seems like heaven when it pumps up. ethereum is good for long term besides bitcoin or other cryptos. and i think, ethereum have chance to grow more and more expensive than bitcoin if we make it to percentage. but, eth price cant beat btc price. and hold for bitcoin is more profitable because it have high value.

if you want a long-term investment it seems Ethereum is very suitable for long term because the price conditions are still very cheap and can be a very expensive coin in the future not only that the price conditions are still very cheap and not too difficult to pump upwards.
but the price is not too expensive than bitcoin and people still use bitcoin as their most investment and they still want to make money as their goals. although the bitcoin price now is not too good, in the future, bitcoin price can increase higher and bitcoin still the expensive coins in the cryptocurrency. maybe ethereum and the other coins will following bitcoin and will be behind bitcoin but the price for bitcoin and ethereum will surely increase.
No. Bitcoin will hold value because of limited supply. Poeple will want to hold it as an asset. Ethereum will be surpassed by new and better currencies. It has served (and still does) very well as a means to get crypto trading going, but is already showing its limits, for example in the current gas wars. When newer, improved currencies will take over the function of facilitating quick and reliable trading, I believe ethereum will loose its value.

I believe that both can be used for a long-term hold, especially bitcoin because we know that the price will grow, that is why we should buy now and hold and then sell. On the other hand, Eth has just been born. We do not know that the price is going to grow or not. However, we believe that it will do so because everything looks so fine about it. Bitcoin and ethereum are two good places to invest your money in as they have the most potential for growth and no one said that you have to pick one, inevest in both and diversify your portfolio.
