For now ETH is a solid competitor for BTC's dominance. Hopefully, the announced Metropolis fork will improve ETH's tech specs and will lay the foundations to move forward to the Casper PoS protocol.
If all goes well with both moves, in a couple of years, ETH will be incredibly more efficient than BTC.
The question is; what will BTC's devs do in the meantime? How many forks will BTC have in the future?

I don't think so.. Eventhough ETH has smart contract option, ETH transactions takes long time as usual compared to other alt coins. Compared to Bit coin, Eth is faster... But I think other altos will overtake ETH due to that reason... 
I think bitcoin is just sleeping now, soon will be back at it.
Today, the price of ethereum, according to CoinMarketCap is 1225 dollars. This is a relative record of this coin and such growth is a positive moment in all respects. Ethereum is too underestimated compared to other altcoyins and even more so compared to bitcoin. However, in the near future ethereum will not be able to catch up with bitcoin, there is too much difference between them in price.

Bitcoin is still the best among other coins as this is the mother of all crypto currencies. The volume and price is incomparable to other altcoins. Bitcoin is not only leading in trading but also accepted by many merchants as mode of payment thru online such as electricity, water, telephone, insurance and many more. Bitcoin is very stable as of now and suitable for a long term investment. So we better to invest now and hold.
im sure ethereum will going high this year. but not that high bitcoin for sure. this will make the balance on cryptos going crazy.. i love ethereum but i didnt think it will overcome bitcoin in anyway as bitcoin has still a mother of other cryptos.
Nah, i would say Ethereum will not or cant overtake bitcoin, bitcoin will be surging again in next couple of months, wait for it and it will come. but ethereum will be mooning too, and it will be good to all of us

Bitcoin will rise up again in this year however the ETH is also moving forward.
BTC will rise by all means but it is ETH year first of all. I'm looking forward it will grow after they will solve the scaling issue.

I think it may never happen when ETH reach near to the value of bitcoin, then the bitcoin will also move forward to new level. ETH may overtake the bitcoin provided that the demand of bitcoin suddenly fell down.

Ethereum is good for contracting smart, that is and will be widely applied on the blockchain platform.But I think Bitcoin is also necessary as an intermediary for all other altcoin conversions.
So Ethereum will be very hard to beat bitcoin, bitcoin prices have gone very far.

Bitcoin's value is increasing as time passes by and it is not possible for coins like etheruem to have high value in the future
The people interest increasing day by day and the bitcoin is already good in the market so the value of this currency is very good the market is tough and the bitcoin price is increasing gradually. The Ethereum price is less comparatively to bitcoin so every one can easily buy this coin anytime without any problem. These both if in your portfolio then don't worry about the future these will provide you good profit.
what a statement! Ethereum might be running good, but overtaking it within the year will not be happening mate. Bitcoin is still the powerhouse at this very moment, maybe for a couple of years more.

Funny thing is that ive heard that line a few years ago, ETH wont be able to replace bitcoin as the number 1 cryto currency, when ETH was released in the market they say that its smart contract was the future, and now its smart contract is useless.
