To replace bitcoin in next year i think its impossible because many changer and many shop just receive bitcoin as the payment. As we know a lot of ico receive etherum as the ico calculation. If the etherum have a trade charge below bitcoin its not impossible anymore that bitcoin will replace by etherum because from the mining point eth more easy to mining then bitcoin.

This probaby will happen soon,if bitcoin's market would be more unstable most of the investors would be switching to more stable coin like ethereum,i dont want to see some coin replacing bitcoin if theres only one coin that could replace bitcoin that would be ethereum,it is matured and has good community plus the solid platform will be enough to replace bitcoin.

Ether is a great Altcoin with a good purpose! At this moment the value of ether is amazing because the price of it is stable.
Its hard to predict that Ether will overtake Bitcoin in next year as number one currency in cryptos world. Maybe right now ether have a good value while bitcoin experienced price fluctuation it is not necessary that ether will dethrone bitcoin. If you monitor the movement of price value of all cryptos its dependent on the bitcoin value. Right now, once the bitcoin dump its value, most of crytos or coin are followed as same in bitcoin price fluctuation even ether is the same. That's why it is hard to overtake bitcoin by ether.
In 2018, I hold more etherium than bitcoin, I also think that the etherium will grow and grow. He just started his ascent to the Olympus.

Ethereum could not overtake bitcoin even now the price value of btc is dump in the market. bitcoin is still the best of all major coins and no one could ever replace its side for being famous in the crypto world or even in terms of value comparison,because i still believe that bitcoin recover soon immediately if all this adversity will resolved and all the situation in crypto world will be controlled.

is this some kind of joke? Bitcoin is the father of all crypto currency and bitcoin came first in the market as a crypto so no way for eth to overcome bitcoin or kickout bitcoin for number one position.
