Russia has implied that Kiev deliberately targeted two Russian journalists, who were killed in eastern Ukraine last week.

“There needs to be a thorough investigation of this crime; there is too much evidence that this was a premeditated attack,” said Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin during a Security Council session on Ukraine in New York.

Russian state television reporter Igor Kornelyuk and sound engineer Anton Voloshin died after being hit by a shell near Slavyansk on June 17.

US need a war to dump its public debt and create another reason of existence for dying NATO. That's why Fashington's puppets are doing all these things, including direct aggression against russian troops outside of Ukrainian territory. They're trying to get revenge attack against ukrainian army.

Russia is also actively fighting on the diplomatic front both in Europe and in the UN, though it's not reported in the Western media.

Russia would lose politically if it intervenes to protect Russians and more people, both Russian Russians and Ukrainian Russians, would die as a result of a large-scale war. It's well-summarised here (in Russian): http://politichanka.livejournal.com/147908.html

As I wrote elsewhere, the whole thing since the February coup d'etat was huge provocation to get Russia into a war, something Russia denies Washington. No reason to start indulging the US warmongers now.

The Ukrainian Army currently outnumbers the rebels almost 20 to 1. There are some 40,000 active personnel deployed there (Army, NazGuard, Right Sector, NSA, Mercenaries.etc), compared to some 2,000 or so rebels. Also, the army is having air support. The urban warfare in metro cities such as Lugansk and Donetsk is going to be extremely bloody, but unless they get more reinforcements, the rebels won't be able to hold on for too long.
