keeping things easy to handle alsways is the best way if you want to attract normal people (which are the masses). It makes no sense if there are just a few nerds out there who really understand what to do with some rocket sience.

If you want to get mass adoption you need to have things that are easy to handle.

I think you go the right way

Short thoughts about Europecoin and the way of the team:

We hit a horrible period of ICOs. Nothing to fear for us, because its only the next step of the economical evolution of the whole cryptocurrency world. What I/we fear is, that million of dollars will be burned in technologies, which no one can understand it. A lot of "skilled" traders dont care for whitepapers and the idea behind a coin or an asset. Its often too heavy to get the point.

We had from the first day on the concept, to hold things easy.

Its the reason, why we keep the blockchaintechnology and be an easy going coin. We have a very strong standard with a high developed core. our wallet is easy and we integrate step by step easy apps or easy ecosystems. If u follow our history of this thread here, you will always see a very high openness from the coreteam. Yes, even, if we failed with one or another idea, we discussed it here and shared our steps always with our community. We are very proud to have a high "democracy" itself in our coin and our developments.

If something is unclear, u always can ask your questions here, and we often answer very fast with a seriously but kindly and humorous style.

Need a macuser of Europecoin.

*imagesnip*

He tried the first time to use Europecoin for Mac. But his wallet always said, no blocksource.

What can we do? And if its adding nodes, how he has to do that?

Thanks for contributing.

yes would be nice if we get that thing up and running!:)

well, this won't help the particular issue in question, but I noticed that the current Mac release was built with almost zero backwards compatibility (requires OS X 10.11). Considering that that is irregular, there may well be other issues with the mac client due to build system variations.

Also...most of the hard-coded pseudo-DNS addresses aren't accepting connections on the default port (one isn't even a complete IP address). The single hex-encoded address is actually a HODL address, so i've excluded that from the output below:

Code:
     ___      _         ___ _               _
    / __\___ (_)_ __   / __\ |__   ___  ___| | _____ _ __
   / /  / _ \| | '_ \ / /  | '_ \ / _ \/ __| |/ / _ \ '__|
  / /__| (_) | | | | / /___| | | |  __/ (__|   <  __/ |
  \____/\___/|_|_| |_\____/|_| |_|\___|\___|_|\_\___|_|

I tried to set minermemory=1 and genproclimit=1 to see if I can get it using one thread, but it keeps using full CPU (though it says: 1 miner/1 thread) : /

That's an old dual core PC, maybe a bit too old for this job.

I'll try to use a CPU limiter utility...

you could try to contact cryptonit. he something knows well programs, which can do that!

I've used BES CPU Limiter in the past and works pretty fine: http://mion.faireal.net/BES/

i use http://efmer.com/b/ for such tasks (limiting CPU proccesses)
u can make it based on cpu temperature (example u have a nice overclocked cpu but dont want ur CPU mining destroy it.....

but u also can just set the max cpu cycle percentage for a process and this way make sure he not use up all ur CPU resources

addition u can just open the process in taskmanager (details) and set process priority to below normal

this way even if it use up 100% cpu resources whenever someone else with normal priority need cpu
the cpu resources given to him instead the miner because miner have less priority

Is there a config option to set the number of threads used to mine ERC?
This part sets the memory. Not quite sure who it works. I think it basicly runs several instances of the miner.
They recomended to go with 2. Doesnt work for me but worth a try.
Code:
minermemory=1

This sets the number of threads used for mining.
Code:
genproclimit=8

To get the total number of threads used you multiply the two.
