great info thanks for sharing I'll search around it

also it was quite uncomfortable not having one monitoring solution for all rigs as Claymore's monitoring does

Bminer, another one that seems to be legit but still need to be monitored closely, seems to be equivalent to dtsm for 1070 series and less GPU's but better on 1080 series.

Well, simple stop using this miner, and when creator see that his income is gone, he will release updated version, with 0.5% improved hashrate Cheesy

Dear EWBF_,

do you plan to update your Zcash miner? I believe there is some room to upgrade speed. DSTM is stealing some miners especially with GTX 1060s.

dude EWBF bailed months ago, there wont be any updates to his program ever again

how's that?

Never looked at or heard of sharkmining before - and as a computer tech with experience going back to CP/M and S100 days (that's BEFORE IBM made their original Personal Computer, for the young folk among us), I'm not inclined to look at prebuilt machines at all.
I do rare exceptions for ones that are being sold for less than the cost of usable parts, like my "Big 3" rig I got from a NewEgg closeout that started out as a pre-built for Scrypt machine with 3 x R9 280x - and the value of the video cards plus power supply ALONE was more than the cost of the machine, leaving the Honking Huge Massive Cooling case and MB/CPU/RAM/HD as "bonus".
It has 3 R9 290 cards in it now (the PS was severe overkill for 3 x R9 280x) and I swapped in a dual-core for the original Sempron 145 at one point when the MB the dual-core was originally on died, but it's otherwise the same as I originally bought it (the R9 280x cards ended up in a different machine).

EWBF does in fact run on AM2 motherboards - I've even run it on Socket 754 based Sempron systems which are a few years older than AM2 at times in some of my testing.

I'd be more inclined to look at Windows 10 or drivers as the issue, especially since Win 10 was not designed to run on anything quite that old and needs MASSIVE resources compared to previous Windows versions.

to be clear

EWBF  runs on windows  it doesn't matter what motherboard, i don't know what you trying to say,but if you where able to run win10 on a 486 you could also open ewbf

but the gpu's they not running on all motherboard,
and  here there was no win10 or driver issue  because use the same version on all computers, also for the power supply, i upgrade to creator

my amd's they work fine on both computers, but not the 1070

i build my first  1070 ring yesturday

but it get a lot of trouble now

Temp: GPU0: 65C GPU1: 60C GPU2: 54C GPU3: 57C
GPU0: 391 Sol/s GPU1: 333 Sol/s GPU2: 336 Sol/s GPU3: 385 Sol/s
Total speed: 1445 Sol/s
......

It's very low hashrate for GTX1070. What is your OC settings? Do you use 0.3.4b version of EWBF? It also could be because of Windows build version. I had similar problem with Win10 without Aniverssary update. After reinstalling to 1703build hashrate became normal (470Sol/s at 150W consumption)

It might also be worthwhile to check you CPU load. Your PSU is powerful enough?
Did you install afterburner and made any custom settings? It looks a little bit as if the cards don’t have enough power.

i switch the gpu's with an other computer
it was always crashing  did not mater  underclock overclcok stock or whatever

maybe old am2 motherboard are not compatible ?
switched with an am3+ with rx560  now both ring are running normal
getting  410 with little oc  they doing 390 at stock  i did not try high oc yet
but first i have to update windows again on that one it s running an older win10  (so cannot do eth)
gonna need to do a fresh install the ssd is to small for an upgrade
i tried to clone a bigger ssd to a smaller  but it make trouble (even there is all the data in the begin of the disk) the reported ssd size is wrong even after scandisk)
and when you use it it make strange thinks, like i change computer ip but after reboot the old one is back just act like my profil is read only)

I had almost same problem. Recently, I switched to simpleminingOS and it is much much more stable now. It will worth for a shot!

Just curious how long some of you run your miners before rebooting, etc.
I finally have mine pretty stable as it is a new rig, and it's been running 24hrs now and still going.  6 1070's at 2771 Sol/s average now.  Sometimes it goes over 2800 Sols/s

All 1070's are about 472 Sols average each.

My LINUX rigs usually go for months (if the POWER stays up long enough) without reboots - I'd say years but I haven't had a year straight with no power outages here (had *2* outages last summer due to brushfires burning power lines).
Win 7 machines (the few I have left) are lucky to manage A month without problems.

Months.. wow.  I need to find a place with free utilities.
Speaking of linux, have you seen the rigs from Sharkmining website?  I almost bought one, but ended up just building my own (wasn't sure if they were legit or not).

.. and thanks for the info of course.

New version seem to be some sort of scam, the official depot either gdrive or mega wasn't updated nor the post. Look suspicious  Lips sealed

Yeah looks VERY suspicious, although I see a few blogs have written about the new update.  Makes no sense to NOT announce it on bitcointalk, etc.  I would not touch it until a lot of people check it out before lol.
Well nanopool still have the latest as 0.3.4b as the latest on github

https://github.com/nanopool/ewbf-miner/releases

If 0.3.5 is dodgy then I wonder if someone could reverse engineer it and see what it does?

This version in GIT has some kind of malware - IDP.Generic - for me Avasta founds and if I try to download by Chrome it also blocks it.

if to take same version from official - 1st post and scan - Avasta doesn't find anything.

I'm confused as to why poolgold was releasing the new version when this is closed source? Unless EWBF runs poolgold?

Because it was NOT an official new release - it appears to have been an attempt to spread a trojan CLAIMING to be a new release.

Hi, I was wondering what the 'boff  0' listed in the example config file does?

It isn't mentioned in the Help file

thanks

In first post, the new verson is still named 0.3.4b, and not 0.3.4c or 0.3.5...
Is there any news on a new version at all?
