I know that you are not fully open yet and considering you will be widely available only when the sports leagues will come back, I can understand why you wouldn't feel the rush to add in esports because that makes sense and lines up perfectly. However, right now the whole world basically stopped and saw the greatness of esports because it can be played at home and can be played whenever people want, even during a pandemic, do you really think that it will go away after the corona ends?

People will suddenly stop gambling there? They got a taste for it already during this period and I am pretty sure they will want more of it in the future when this pandemic is over (or at least not as deadly anymore). Do what you want of course, it is your own website, but I would suggest adding esports further.

NFL, NBA, Soccer - are you planning to replace this sports betting with esports or virtual sports?
Launching 2020 - when in 2020 due to the new world wide situation ?

Thank you

Hello! We are not planning to use Esports or virtual sports as replacements.

Esports betting is growing all the time and has a huge future, but we want to build liquidity around the primary sports betting offering (Soccer, NFL, NBA, Cricket, and later Tennis, Horse Racing) before we expand into Esports markets. Although we will always be listening to liquidity providers and end users - if the demand for Esports grows massively, then we will of course review these plans.

Virtual sports, in our opinion, is not a good fit for a betting exchange. Effectively, virtual sports are a casino product that is powered by an RNG. This can work well in a traditional sportsbook, but we do not think it will attract liquidity on a betting exchange.

exbet.io will launch when we feel that the sporting calendar has recovered and stabilized sufficiently, but of course it is not clear yet *when* this will be. We will keep everyone updated on launch plans here on bitcointalk, on Twitter, and via our newsletter.

Thanks arco-yabamba.

The launch of a betting exchange is, of course, insignificant next to a global pandemic.

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected now and in the coming weeks and months.

An update on exbet.io launch plans

The ongoing COVID-19 disruption of so many high profile sporting leagues and competitions has led us to postpone the launch of exbet.io. To go live with a betting exchange product in the middle of such uncertainty in the sporting calendar would compromise the product offering and liquidity we are so committed to providing to our customers.

As such, we will hunker down and continue to build out the product. We will progress through the final stages of the licensing process. And we will make sure that when the sporting calendar has stabilized that we are in the best position possible to launch our world-class bitcoin betting exchange.

In the meantime - stay safe & stay well.

Regards
The exbet.io team

Hi again tumis

When Rocket League and Hearthstone ?

Well, we need to launch first!  Cool

Esports we'd love to get rolling, for sure (Hearthstone is a particular favorite with one of the exbet team, big Magic player but fell in love with Hearthstone when it brought Magic to the masses... but we digress...). However, our focus at launch will be the core sports betting offering. Esports has a huge future (and a pretty huge present actually) but we expect an exbet.io esports offering only once we have really grown userbase and liquidity as a whole.

Interested to see you ask about Rocket League and Hearthstone... usually CounterStrike, LoL and DOTA are the first that we get asked about.

add tennis instead of the NFL who plays at all, and tennis the big tournaments will come Madrid, Rome French Open, Wimbledon, US Open

Tennis is definitely a strong shout and has been a staple of exchange betting for many years. It will not make launch but will be near the head of the queue after that. European clay season is one of our favorite times of the tennis year... then straight into a now sadly much-diminished grass season culminating in Wimbledon, surely the most iconic of all the Grand Slams. What a sport!

Having said all that, NFL is a Tier 1 sport in our humble opinion, and we're looking forward to offering a full range of markets, Pre-Match and In-Play, when next NFL season rolls round in Sept 2020.

dunno if you read the reply above which says they are still on licensing process and he said once that done , there could be no problem accesing the site on many countries . but im curious , did usa are strict on gambling ?  but why . i thought that usa is a friendly country or not strict country on many things . and what if we can only use a vpn for temporary purpose or for temporary acces  . by using vpn we can trick the site that we are on a legal country were gambling is fully legal  .
yes usa is strict on gambling without a license but it happens anyway of course lol eg all the costs rica books set up for usa only even tho they have no license

Just got the following message while trying to load the site;

"exbet.io - the Bitcoin betting exchange - is not available in your territory right now."

Can anybody provide a list of blocked countries? Do you guys allow VPN usage? Please let me know.

dunno where you situated but if in Usa theres gotta be no way you are accessing this site. too risky pushing this into the states and anyway exchange betting is foreign concept there so little reward also for exbet. having said that if exchange betting got a foothold there it could absolutely takeoff.

hi Diced90, thanks for your interest.

Due to the fact that we are currently in the middle of a licensing process, we are erring on the safe side as regards geo-blocking. Once the license process has run its course there will be clearer guidance around permitted territories.

hows it looking for getting cricket markets up? watching big bash final right now, money pouring in on betfair

We're still gunning for cricket at launch. Big bash final was a bit of a let-down, but lots of great international cricket on at the moment, and lots of people who can't get on at Betfair...!

Just saw the screenshot that you provided on your Twitter handler and that looks sleek. Really looking forward on when the go-live of your new website will be. Do you have any plans on adding the dark mode on your website? It's kinda hurting my eyes if we only have a white-background website to stare at when gambling.  Grin

Hi JanpriX, cheers for the feedback, really appreciate it. Dark mode is a great idea, it's increasingly a standard UI option these days, and we will push it a little higher up our priority list now that you've mentioned it.

Prepare for some huge expense on the marketing department as you need to put your name out there (especially against the more, established, traditional betting sites out there). Signature campaign with good participants would really help (with good manager).

Yes, getting the exbet.io name and brand in front of the right people is a big part of building userbase and liquidity after launch. We have had others on this thread suggest a signature campaign, and it is one of many options to consider.

Hey Twinkledoe! (great handle btw)

Thanks for the good wishes, we hope to be the new kid in exchange town very soon. We realize that attracting users and liquidity is not easy, and look forward to any thoughts the bitcointalk community has on what they would want from a Bitcoin betting exchange. All feedback welcome.
