I was expecting much more race to see today, but ended up being a normal race, the only BIG move was the alst one made by Alonso, what a move made b y him. COngratulation to Lando Norris and Mcclaren because they really have good pace, they only not win because MV exists.

And mercedes... what a disaster today. Ferrari, nothing to say.
Fight between Alonso and Perez was epic. At first it looked that Perez have no chance to overtake as he alread was barely in DRS zone. But he managed it. Alonso counter attack wasn't less impressive. And then on finish line Perez almost reached Fernando. I nstand flashbacks to 2019 and fight between Lewis and Gasly on final lap.
When I saw Leclerc crashed on warm-up, first I thought how it's even possible on dry track and perfect conditions. But if it was car failure, there is no reason to blame him
And Mercedes, there is nothing positive that we can say about their race today.
If there was another driver other than alonso in front of perez, he would have passed in 3 laps, but this is what happens when the most unlucky driver in history for me is alonso, who deserves at least 5 championships. Where he took the corners, charging the battery and cooking the red bull car softly like a potato in the embers was very clever. Perez pulled the difference up to 0.9 for a while, and around the 65th lap. In 2021, we are talking about the best defensive man of the grid who gave nightmares to the most in-form Mercedes and hamilton of the period for 10 laps. Perez gave a very good message for the future, he had a very good pace for the team.

Never seen scenes like that during an F1 race even if it was at the end of qualifying (Q3) and it was the correct call to make in stopping it with 4:19 left to go in the session.

Had Max to be on pole today so good they stopped it there.
Have Hamilton to win today and get fastest lap so we will see how it goes in the next two hours when the final race begins.

The ones which looked really good with how their cars are handling during the sprint race are Norris and Russell.
Can't see the Ferrari cars getting anything higher than P5 or P6 from the way the other cars are performing on the track.
A few of them went off track. Piastri and Stroll from what I remember of the sprint races yesterday.

For sure Qualifying was exciting as the rain was about to drop it became a sudden night race on the Q3 as Max Verstappen was still in 1st place when the Race did not continue because of bad weather for this race as it was a red flag for this event after the rain had poured down and so the F1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix has commenced to stop as they are readying for the Sprint Shootout next

Actually, Lando Norris is looking sharp in this Sao Paulo Grand Prix smoothly traversing into a great driver for the McLaren, and the Main Race the fight between Norris and Verstappen is happening from start to finish of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix,

I have a feeling this race will be insane to watch and I had to place a bet on this one against Max because I don't think he will win in Brazil , especially that he always struggled here in the last years.

I also feel bad for Charles but as far as I understood he had some brake issues or he simple made a rookie mistake that will cost Ferrari mega important points...

Actually, he was talking about the Hydraulics issue on the radio, it was not fair if you lost to something and it wasn't really your fault the car is not really responding correctly for sure the Mechanics need to do their job properly and there is no need for major errors next time,

The Frustration of Charles Leclerc when he is on the radio as the Race is only starting he has slipped into the wall and so the race will need to be restarted but at the start of the race without Leclerc another incident occurs this time Alexander Albon and Kevin Magnussen have crashed and the wheel is bouncing on the track and so the race will need to be restarted again because of the safety car,

And as pretty much Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were fighting for the 1st place was also great to see, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Sergio Perez was really getting this on if they can make something in passing it through, but again Max Verstappen still ended winning this Sao Paulo Grand Prix,

This is the official look of the starting grid after some grid penalties given Russell, Ocon and Gasly. They were penalties for impeding their competitors in the qualifying session.

Russell's penalty was a big help for Norris to get right behind Hamilton. I don't think that Hamilton would like that at all while Norris has a very solid race pace. We saw that in the sprint race previously. I hope that my podium in the pool would come true but I'm really nervous about it.  Undecided  It is mostly dependent on Norris' performance.

Q3 was quite different than I expected after watching Q1 and Q2. Because Stroll - Alonso duo did a really good work in Q3 but luck was on their side at the same time. Because the weather got really bad and there was a red flag out while there were still 4-5 minutes to go for the end of the session. Norris (7th), Sainz (8th) and Perez (9th) all could have had a better position than this considering their effort. Especially Norris could have fought for pole position as his lap times were really impressive.
We all saw that rain is coming, but probably nobody didn't expected such big weather changes. These rain clouds were so dark that just after few minutes it looked like night almost. And it wasn't just rain, but heavy wind too. It's good that drivers managed to complete one fast lap during Q3 (except Piastri who made mistake). Otherwise we probably would have to wait long time until weather conditions will improve. It's logical decision that session won't be resumed.
It's a bit strange to see both Aston Martin on 2nd row, but they got lucky a bit.

For the first time in history a driver gets more points than 500 during a single season and for this I really appreciate Max for his achievement and with 2 races to go , he could go almost to 600 points and I'm sure this record he just settle , it will last for a very very long time period , maybe even decades.  Shocked

Qualify was ruined by the rain but once again Max got the position.

this time he got it because it was the 1st running, he always makes the correct decision.

The circuit simply went in dark mode and it was the correct decision to actually stop Q3 because no sane man would have take an F1 car on a lap during such a weather. It was intense just to watch it on my tv so I can't imagine how it actually felt to be there  Shocked

With this , Max won the qualifiers, followed on 2nd place by Leclerc and 3rd place a big surprise with Stroll and his Aston Martin.

Should we really believe the rumors of Fernando Alonso moving to RedBull from next year ? Personally , I don't get it from where this rumors are coming from but with Lawrence Stroll determined to sell Aston Martin by the end of the year , I start to believe that rumors might actually be true! If that happens , I think Max will finally have a battle and also a strong teammate that will most likely be allowed to fight with him for championship title.
Heard of this yesterday from one of those reporting on F1 websites but they are just what you have said so far, rumors.
So until there has been an announcement from either teams you can only go by speculation at this point.
Perez has a contract with Red Bull into 2024 if that hasn't changed unless Red Bull can it buyout to release him.
Stroll putting Aston Martin for sale could be the reason for Lance driving the way he has and not caring for his actions off the track in the recent months.
Don't you think it's more plausible to have Ricciardo instead of Alonso? I haven't seen much of the rumors but it's an interesting one. I just hope that in the next season, there would be a competition and there would be a fun and unpredictable battle.
Ricciardo would be the first choice for any driver on the current circuit to be driving for Red Bull next season.
Was this not the scenario ever since he joined Alpha Tauri?
Look at his performance in the last race. He ran up and impressed so many in Mexico that it was no joke doing it in a car many had written off to not score points but he did. So big up to him in doing so.
We have to remember, Alonso is an aging driver who has what? 2-3 more years of driving left in him?
Don't think Red Bull are willing to put very much of an investment in a 42 year old driver being in the position they are in with the best performing car on the planet for the oldest driver who is struggling to finish races right now on the current F1 gird.

I dont think so and for two main things. First of all, i dont think Aston MArtin wants to change (again) his main driver and the principal developer of the car, they lose the race in term of develop and tecnologies, i dont think they wanna lose the only part who is working fine an is Alonso. In second instance, RedBull is not a team for Alonso, because they are gonna do everything for Verstappen, and with alonso only problems between them are gonna start.

I agree with you on this. Red Bull wouldn't like to bring Verstappen more competition right beside him. Perez is just the kind of a teammate for Verstappen to reach his future goals comfortably. However Perez hasn't been looking good for a long time. If he maintains this performance next season as well then he would put Red Bull in bad condition about being the constructors champions.

However there has been a fact in this season until this moment. Verstappen could have brought this title to his team anyway even if Perez collected 0 points. If the other teams don't become more competitive then Verstappen can be in a similar condition once again.  Grin

I hate this problem of F1. Last race I was in 2nd with 1.5 points behind 1st now I'm so far behind and in 3rd. Who knows. Luck can change again.
Yeah but the competition is still quite fired up considering there are still 3 more races. It is really difficult to be confident for me about my finishing in top 2 honestly.  Grin  Because the results of even one of the races remaining can upset balances in the pool. For example it was really lucky of people like me on the United States GP week as Hamilton's disqualification changed points in the pool a lot.

Otherwise I mightn't have been in 2nd place right now. We are in another race week by the way. The next GP is in Sao Paulo and we have a sprint race also.  Smiley

3 races sounds like a lot but if you see, it's really really tough to get even 1 or 2 point advantage, unless race is crazy different. This means I must get advantage in every race left over BOTH while hoping I myself don't get caught lol

But yes Hamilton disq really changed table so I pray for more such luck but of course, for me.

GL in Brazil! Anybody here from there??
Leclerc got disqualified for the same race which did change the table. Luckily it moved up one of my selections into 10th place. I actually did better in the points even if having more drivers DNF.
When that happens it does feel you had been playing a round of roulette.

So with this race in Brazil does anyone else seeing Perez and Alonso not finishing too?
Both of these drivers seem to have lost any momentum they had when the season started.
