There are two points of view. First is that facebook wants to control everything in the world. And crypto world has an opportunity to take away market share. And the second is that facebook struggle with scam ICO projects to protect own users. I'm inclined to the second point of view
Since most people don't care about their privacy i don't see facebook los any market share , so i agree on the second point. After the bitconnect fiasco i can understand they are careful now.

I guess Facebook just want to absolve from effect  that someone lost it's money by investing into scam ICO has been annonced on facebook.
But I also heard they just want to decrease ads relevancy so that you will see more info about your friends that commercial. Maybe ban of ICO annoncements is the part of that policy

Because they believe that Facebook prohibits bitcoin and ICos and other cryptocurrency
The new Facebook policy will not allow announcements of known digital currency exchanges or initial offers of currencies.
Is it to avoid fraud or false advertising? That's why?
I don't dare to say that Facebook is against Bitcoin, but I think they put such a ban to protecting investors from danger. At present, more and more ICO projects are emerging and many of them have scam projects, Facebook is doing it to avoid damage to people. However, we are still allowed to post and discuss about cryptocurrency on Facebook, they only ban paid ads.

I've read an article and this happens because bitcoin and other altcoin do a lot of promotion in social media. that's why bitcoin should not be promoted in cyberspace.

I don't think the whole issue of facebook and bitcoin is all about bitcoin itself but just that icos where being fraudulent and taking opportunity of investors. So, bitcoin being at the top was being seen as the number one and was being referred to. Otherwise, bitcoin had know issue with facebook.

first you have to study terms and condition of facebook. they are announcing fake icos or digital fraud currencies only not for all. i think there is no any such kind of problems. now a days they're starting discussion about the cryptocurrency in feature may happen but now there is no problem i think.

It's to protect people from scam investment. many coin/token use facebook ad for advertising ICO and ppl don't know scam or not.
one of mark's resolution for this year is to study about bitcoin and cryptocurrency
I agree, it is also to the safety of everyone, I think there is nothing wrong with that rules, as long as Facebook has a very good intention to every body so that their site won't be shut down in the future.

Most likely a hybrid mix of : Wanting to protect FB users from scams related to ICO's and cryptocurrencies //// and in my humble opinion i get the feeling the Zuckerberg and the FB team are planning a coin of there own (why woudnt they? it makes sense and cents) I wish I could elaborate more on my hypothesis but I'm about to miss my flight! : )

I really don't think that Facebook are against in bitcoin but yes, there are issues regarding bitcoin being banned from Facebook. One of the reasons why Facebook banned bitcoin was because of people who shared their knowledge about bitcoin in public with the identity of them on it They all want to protect those people by hiding their identity to avoid crimes.

Sounds like they’re planning on launching their own crypto asset and don’t want to deal with competing products based on Mark Zuckerberg’s previous post on the subject: "There are important counter-trends to this -like encryption and cryptocurrency - that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people’s hands. But they come with the risk of being harder to control. I’m interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services

YES those who participate in bounty companies have probably faced with the fact that Facebook blocks records. One way out is not to spam and not take many firms.

They only will not allow ICO adverts in their paid advertising program.
It is their strategy to minimize, if not eliminate, fraudulet ICOs in the Ffacebook social media platform.
So you are still allowed, or it is still ok to post, share, and link ICO topics with your FB account.

This regulation are only for those that pay FB for advertising purposes.

As the revenue model of Facebook is built upon advertisement which increases the revenue of the frim with bitcoin becoming a part of popular culture, the people consuming the goods of the companies are decreasing as more consumers are investing in bitcoin, the decrease in revenue decreases the incentive to advertise decreasing revenues for facebook.
Yeah it decreasing but lets say in a small quantity of people only because its only one site but theres a lot of sites supported by bitcoin. So we should grb that opportunity and never been affected by bitcoin.

Facebook is accept any icos, because they advertising all the problems, like scam to any the project. And also give opportunity to the people.

Indeed, Facebook purpose is to bring the people closer together and not be the victim on crypto or ICO scams.
Facebook would be no longer support or allow cryptocurrency ads and promotions because their are to many people who are victims on fake ICOs due to Facebook ads.
