It is possible. But I think they will be focusing on their own coin for now. After building a good reputation and established a good impact in the crypto community, then there is a possibility that they will include their coin in some gambling sites.

Some people might use it to gamble, it is inevitable.

If someone made a bet to his friends and he lost, it is obvious he will be paying his friend money. If he has Facebook coin then he can use it to pay his friends. It is not the gambling you think but that is the only way I can relate it to gambling since most of the sites that I read for some time now says they will only be in their sites.

Facebook, will be launching its own cryptocurrency for use in its messaging apps, Messenger, WhatsApp, and even Instagram.

We know it can't be transacted on gambling sites so I think it is impossible. Also, it is said to be connected to dollars so I think people will not be using it to gamble that much if it can be used.

My question here is that, will they be releasing their coin outside, I mean will they be able to access their coins outside Facebook? If their goal is to make a coin for the purpose of paying through Facebook, I guess it will be limited only to their platform. I don't think they will be the same with other coins since if that happens, they are biased banning Bitcoin and other crypto currencies on their site.

I don't think that facebook's coin that they are planning to create will be used for gambling although we can't remove the possibility that it can be use too for gambling.

I'm thinking of the use of their coin is for the livestreamers. They can gift their coin to those livestreamers in facebook and then they can sell it on an exchange. Maybe.

You are not making any sense, first you say you do not think that facebook coin will be used for gambling then you say it can? Roll Eyes

Facebook Coin is a real think just accept it, it does not matter what kind of usage it will have. It can be for gambling, for buying anything as virtual goods such as games currency or buying ads.
I also agree that if they do this it will be a +1 since for example in games will be much easier to buy some virtual good just by using their coin. This way you don't have to use own games payments.

Then it could be like steem, right?

We still don't know what Facebook reason to create their coins, but for sure, they create the coin for making more money in crypto. Besides that, I think they are aware of existing of the cryptocurrency, so they want to join in the crypto world and create those coin.

If they want to compete with steem, then they need to seriously to work with their project because their members will be a potential user to attract them to come into the crypto world.
It wont really be that hard for them to compete with Steem since we do know on how big Facebook network is.
Everything to be done do have its own corresponding reason and for facebook no matter what it is it would always tied up with profits.
They create either both on function basis or just going with the hype or innovation.

It's really difficult to happen because I no see itention for Mark and their CEO to accept crypto and implement directly on their platform.

To see it happen they require an absolute and reasonable reason so the chance for happening less than 1 %
We are now in the stage of innovative technology which will definitely convince people and make what seems not to be possible happen. If JP Morgan who once make negative statement about Bitcoin could join the crypto currency scheme then you should never doubt the action which was said to be taking by Facebook.
Yeah it is good to join the bitcoin scheme as it is profitable and specially in gambling if we get the idea I will be profitable to bet about bitcoin, on facebook I know some are really worry that scamming can give them lose but no need to be worry just have patience and keep playing, being afraid of scamming gives nothing but only discouragement.

Well we can spend money on Facebook games even way back. I'm not sure if FB would endorse people to buy their coins for use to play these games though. I remember EA had problems in EU over lootboxes coz it have elements of gambling and several FB games (at least those I've tried) had lootboxes.

They'll probably need to add another service that will use the FB coins so they can say "Hey, it's the person's choice to buy FB coins using cash and use that to buy game credits, they could have used it for something else".

The Facebook coin will have many use cases and gambling can be one them. Gambling is a big field and if they introduce the coin in gambling as well, they could capture a whole lot of market.
As of now, i don't see facebook looking to develop any coin etc but in future, there is a possibility of it.
There is always a possibility for that but I don't think it can be done gambling on Facebook, Facebook has also some kids using it even if there is also a designated age for appropriate users for it we cannot avoid those kids seeing some article with Facebook and if Facebook will create Facebook gambling then maybe better to not use it for kids now especially students. They will get addicted for sure.

but this time its different, they would have the facebook coin which can totally be a change in the structure.  there use to be apps hosted by facebook which are related to gambling such as poker, maybe they can allow users to spend their coin there. this is if they are trying to find some use to their own coin.

As we have heard, Facebook is planning to launch its own coin. And we know that this site has so many people that use this to communicate, the fact that it has many users, the possibility of getting their coin famous is just an easy picky.

Could we also expect that facebook may have a feature where gambling (that uses crypto/ facebook coin) is allowed? What do you think?
I think it's impossible that Facebook will be having gambling because as far as I know facebook is strick in any cases or any posting that harm for everyone we know how risky the gambling is. So maybe they do their own coin for some reason but not for gambling.

Its maybe something like that. I have a strong feeling that their coin can be used as a currency for game application through facebook or as a bet in an online poker and other apps.
I have played online zynga poker through Facebook 7 years ago and I just sold my chips for real money. Look how serious the people are when it comes to gambling. Now, theres this coin that totally has corresponding value in the market (once launched successfuly), then that would much more interesting.

That’s exciting because i have been playing facebook games and gamblings for long and now thy are goinh to lunch crypto base gambling by Facebook?looking forward fo this to become reality
It's less likely to happen that Facebook will create gambling to its platform, even though it has a billion users around the world that will support this Facebook gambling but each of the countries have different rules and regulations about online gambling and it may create an another issue about Facebook.

I don't see why they would not unless they ban gambling outrightly or censor transactions.

Gambling shouldn't encouraged on the social media nor banned.  Advertisments should only be viewed by gamblers.
For how many years now theres alot of casino games in facebook so theres nothing wrong if they will extend this to crypto,so lets see what’s on the future for facebook coin

There's a lot of casino games existing on Facebook but when a real money is involve that's different and a whole other issue, if Facebook coin will truly launch soon I think that it'll be use for receiving and sending of payment between the advertisers and its users but not for any gambling purposes .

That will be possible happen, Facebook now has a digital currency on messenger app that will be possible they use as a coin. However, Facebook now didn't take action with that feature because n my own they are focussing in their social media platforms. Time to time it will happen but I guess not now. Frankly speaking, they have a very high chance to launch a gambling feature but we don't know when.

There is still no facebook coin, right? So I think gambling in Facebook is not an appropriate place. I don't think Facebook will adapt this kind of activity online and the owner of facebook already rich and I don't think he still needs to make his own coin.

Mark can easily create gambling sites, of course not using Facebook as a platform.

That is right.

Why would Mark create a platform for connecting people into something that can destroy the life of someone? If they will be creating a currency, I think it will just be limited to Facebook where people can pay each other or it might be their income for the views of the videos they made. It might be used by some people to pay when they lose a bet maybe they are betting to each other whos gonna win in the NBA playoffs at the Eastern conference, something like that. And I think Mark can't do anything about that and it is not their fault.
