Just acquired 100 for exactly 78.5 DVC/FBX so I believe this is a good time to be in Smiley

1 FBX = 101.14 DVC

According to https://latestrates.traxo.me/?from=FBX&to=DVC (using Latest Rates file)

Congrats on snitching that bargain.

Considering my last purchase (weeks ago) and last nights purchase (9/22) was the only one to buy said bargain, you're welcome for being the only one actively taking advantage. It's still ~ 80 DVC per FBX.

Maybe you just need to get some tokens yourself.

Evidently so, by the latest Latest Rates file! Smiley

Which just came out... Right after it comes out is a good time to run around looking for new bargains, as things that people placed for sale in the past become bargains at the new rates...

...And maybe place them for sale at some higher price that will be profit to you when someone notices that changing prices have turned it into a bargain. That way the gradual drift upward in values that seems to be pretty common can serve to profitably drive active trading to make the markets lively.

Of course it is still alive, it is also still in use in the Galactic Milieu.

This also it can be traded on the HORIZON and Stellar platforms, see http://makemoney.knotwork.com/

I am surprise that Fairbrix is still alive, it is one of the earliest scrypt coins.  Wonder anyone still have the Windows client?  Want to try out mining it for nostalgic sake.

Fairbrix always seems to have a few people mining it at any given moment, I usually see a few connections, seldom more than eight though even with incoming port open.

The nice thing about it is people only seem to be using CPUs still, so just like BBQcoin was last year Fairbrix is one of those coins that people without GPUs can mine effectively.

Looks like maybe another dead thread so I'm gonna try to find another one.  Thanks anyway.

Having a hard time finding feedback on fairbrix.  I'd like to know if a client is still available.  I'm worried its been a while and the binaries may be hacked.

NP. At the current rate the difficulty will probably drop 75% at the next adjustment, so don't despair  Smiley

Thank you. So.... do the Fairbrix automatically show up in the open wallet?

They do. But:

At the current difficulty, if you're mining with 10 KH/s (a fast processor with a few threads) you get a block every 2-3 hours. Then that block would need 150 confirmations to be credited in your wallet. At the current network hash rate, those 150 confirms can take a week or so.

Anyone? I need help..... please see above.

Go to the Data\Fbrix_files\ directory in the folder where you unzipped the package.
Edit the fbx.conf file (use notepad to open it) and change the line "daemon=0" to "daemon=1"
Start Fairbrix (with Start_fairbrix.exe in the initial folder)
Start the miner using start_mining.bat and do what you did before.

It will work.

After you make it, you might want to check out some more advanced miners suggested in the original thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/announce-fairbrix-relaunched-46528) or customize the inputs (like setting the threads number to your processor's number of cores minus 1, so that you can have a working desktop while you're mining.

Good luck.

Ok, you can call me stupid. LOL I'm not sure what all that means ... but here's what I did.

1. I have the FBX wallet working.
2. I downloaded the Fairbrix-pack and unzipped
3. I started it by opening the START-MINING MS-DOS BATCH FILE
4. I followed the instructions on the black window that appeared
5. It read "press enter if mining solo" on every input
6. It trys do start but the message reads  "HTTP request failed: couldn't connect to host
and json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds"

Eventually it shuts down after 5 minutes

I tried my own IP address and it still did the same thing.

I'm not as smart as you, and I appreciate your help.

Ok, I did receive the 38 fbx. I'm happy with that.

However, I still can't get the miner to work.
It still reads
HTTP request failed: couldn't connect to host
and json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

Eventually it shuts down after 5 minutes

Help

I suppose that you have the daemon up and running and that you have already compiled the miner.

This is my fbx.conf:
Code:
rpcpassword=pass
rpcuser=user
rpcport=8645
#Allow connections from my internal network. Change the address if you have a different subnet.
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*

dns=0
noirc=0

#uncomment this line if UNPNP gives you trouble
noupnp=1

# comment out this line (add # right in the beginning of the line) and / or set to 0 if UNPNP gives you trouble
#unpnp=1

daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
printtoconsole=0
Then I run the miner with
Code:
./minerd --url http://{daemon's IP address - NOT localhost}:8645 --user user --pass pass -s 3 -t 4
Try this way, even if they are on the same machine.
