So you are hinting at Bitcoin backwardation? Perhaps the 'overall market' is being slightly manipulated  Wink

You said it not me. Wink

One data point isn't enough to draw a conclusion, just pointing out it is "interesting".

GLBSE has had the following message on their homepage for more than 24 hours:

Quote
Deposits and withdrawals are delayed, we've installed a new version of the bitcoin client which requires us to download the blockchain. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Does it take longer than 24 hours to download the blockchain these days? Has it gotten that massive?
2 weaks ago it took me around 36 hours to download the bitcoin from ground zero.

Well, if market indicators are hinting at bitcoin backwardation then I sure would not want to be short a bunch, like 400k, of bitcoins. And I sure would not want to be the counter-party who lent the bitcoins because then the counter-party risk could get very high.

Remember the first rule of panic: Do it first!

No I am not bashing our sellers, we got the best sellers, it just interesting.

We have an imbalance.  Higher than normal buy side demand and (well) lower than normal sell side demand yet the overall market indicates the exact opposite.

First time this has ever happened but we got more demand from our Bitcoins Direct service than FastCash4Bitcoins is generating.  Usually the supply from FastCash is about 3x what we can sell to our direct buyers.  I altered the conservatism factor in the model and that increased the payout rate by about 0.5% (all other factors, volatility, spread, available funds, etc being equal).

The new model will remain in effect until we get a little bit more normalized cashflow, er would that be coinflow. Smiley
When the price is high, people want to sell.  When the price is low, people want to buy.

It's funny how that tends to happen... Smiley

Yeh,holding onto them, looks like they want 10 or more per coin.

I certainly understand the sentiment.   It is just "interesting" that our clients are diverging from the overall market.  The market price is below $10 because some enough sellers are willing to sell below $10 but not our sellers.  No I am not bashing our sellers, we got the best sellers, it just interesting.

Been watching this since it launched, looks awesome.

Just posting to say thanks. Got my ACH in 3 days. Cashed out at just the right time Cheesy

Wish btc price was higher again, I just got $1500 more in bills, but on the bright side I've hit my max out of packet for the year now...
