Feathercoin now is in the new Alt19+ Index.

FTC is still included in the oldest Altcoin Market Index Alt19 as well.
FTC is one of the most famous and time proven alternate coins,

trading volume over the last 30 days is $ 67,820 (Bittrex) and $ 6529 (Cryptopia) according to my radar http://AltcoinMagic.com.

alt19

i hope FTC will be up

I am using wallet 0.9.6 and have got message "Inconsistent checkpoint found! Stop enforcing checkpoints and notify developers to resolve the issue".

Anyway, transactions are coming and it is sync

I also have this message with 0.9.6 wallet. what does it mean?

I saw the same, I re-scanned the blockchain and it seems to have gone away.

I had to re-download full blockchain and it is ok now. It takes about 24 hours. Not that long

Thanks, it also helped me Smiley

Im examining the site. Will add some parallax animations here and there and release a totally revised version of it. Apart from the site, I find the state of affairs in this this thread boring, nothing happens, nothing changes so Im crawling back into the shadows.

Sorry that Feathercoin isnt some fancy coin that releases some bunch of useless things every 2 weeks.

i am using the android wallet of feathercoin.
last few days it is not possible to get peer connections.
any solutions for this problem ?

Dont use the Android wallet for now. Ive never personally had issues with it but the devs warn there is a chance of losing your coins until its updated. To my knowledge they are working on it.

Lose your coins? How, I've never heard that? I'm no coder so excuse my ignorance please. My understanding was that funds in old wallets are always recoverable provided there wasn't a fork that rolled back the clock to before your wallet existed (like ETH reverted to an earlier chainstate). Also providing that future changes to the coin don't permit someone to access/steal the funds (again ETC as example where they needed to upgrade something after the ETH fork that rendered the old wallets "ETC" susceptible to hacking somehow).

So a couple questions:

-If I have a wallet set up on 0.8 and no desire to access the funds anytime soon, should I rebuild it in 0.9 ASAP because it is at risk somehow?

-When I decide I do wish to access the funds. Would trying to open it in a 0.8 wallet put me at risk? Not that I would do this of course, just a hypothetical question. My layman's understanding was that the worst that would happen would be my inability to sync to anything. But I could just take the same wallet file, drop it into 0.9 and everything would perfectly normal. . .This not true?

Actually there is no risk of losing your coins. But you shouldnt try to spend them if your BC isnt synced and you are still on an old version, that could may lead into a loss.

ChekaZ

Gottcha, thanks ChekaZ. ...Is there also a risk if i opened a 0.9 wallet and tried to send on it before it synced? Or just a risk when on unsynced older versions?

Also, again just curious. If i did try to send on a 0.8 wallet, how exactly would the loss potentially occur? Is the risk that I would screw up my own balance by sending to somewhere that essentially doesn't exist....or is the risk that there may be poachers on the old chain waiting to steal from people who inadvertently try to send coins on there...

There is no risk in sending from 0.9 wallet if its not synced, but the coins wont be "send" until its completely synced up. - As far as I know ( Iam not a core developer) you could potentially lose your coins by sending from an old client that is on another chain/fork, which could lead to end up your coins on a wrong chain and you wouldnt be able to get them back.

I tried looking for a reference to this but it must have been in a PM that I cant find now.

My personal feeling is this, first since its an Android wallet and most likely to be carried in my pocket I would never keep a large number of coins on it. $5-10 worth is plenty. I normally only use this wallet to show people how it works so even if I did lose the coins (wallet issue, stolen phone, dropped/broken phone, etc) Im not out much.

If the coins are in a wallet.dat file they should be able to be moved between wallet versions with no issue or risk of loss.

I apologize for a possible false alarm but Id rather people be a bit cautious and keep their coins vs the alternative.
