What other features would you like to see in crypto casinos for senior citizens?
I do not agree that any features/options are added to online crypto gambling sites, if specifically for the elderly, I know very well if my parents or grandfather, let's say 65-80 years old still involved in gambling, it will make me emotional high if I see it.

They should create and show their children and grandchildren their good behavior, should not show gambling behavior.

If there is a certain feature added in online gambling where the elderly are forced to gamble, I will be against it, if it is proposed to the licensing authority.

I visited an uncle in another city. His birth year was 1960. He has been an avid gambler for a long time and frequently visits brick-and-mortar casinos. He currently wants to test out an crypto casino. He has heard a great deal about it. He did, however, note that despite possessing the cash, he has no knowledge of how to use cryptocurrency for gambling but would really like to. I would like to suggest that crypto casinos put a video tutorial explaining how to use cryptocurrencies for gambling on their website.

What other features would you like to see in crypto casinos for senior citizens?
I would really not recommend this...though if you are determined, the best thing you can do is do a guidance on how to make a deposit and do the whole process in front of him first with notes. At least to teach him how to transact. Same thing with using a wallet, buying/selling on an exchange, the fundamentals. In terms of games, maybe slots would be most familiar, or traditional tables games. Most casinos work the same from what I have seen. Be sure to point him in the right direction of some trusted blogs to and tell him to be vigilant with which ones he chooses to use. The last thing you want is for him to be scammed.

I hope at the very least that you guide and monitor him closely.

There's no much attraction gotten from the senior citizens in gambling because they were not that involved like the youths and young adults, old age is a big factor that limit their participation in gambling and we cannot expect them to have sane result as the young ones when gambling, the more why the concentration here is not basically targeted on the senior citizens in gambling considering many factors that may render them ineffective, but nevertheless they can still be considered to have that right in gambling as long as they wish to, offering them video clips for tutorials isn't a bad idea as well, but know that only few can be interested in having time to watch and learn from those clips.

I somehow disagree with your statement. With the recent technological advancements, surprisingly, lots of senior citizens are into gambling. Majority of them are also using their respective mobile phones in order to access tons of gambling applications. Not to mention, these gambling apps are notoriously aggressive on their ads across all social media platforms and websites.

Personally speaking, my own grandmother gambles frequently on her mobile phone but sometimes she has trouble seeing the texts. In addition, I am somehow positive that she would not be able to grasp the complexity of withdrawing/depositing in a gambling website so I do hope there is a way to simplify this process.

You can deposit some coins to your uncle's account on a crypto casino, I think he can already manage to do it on his own. You just have to remind him to be careful in pasting BTC addresses in withdrawing.
...

You can't teach an old dog new tricks so easily. I think OP should set him up completely, from creating a wallet and registration to making first bets, and in case he makes some profit he needs to show him how to withdraw.

I would like to hear the rest of this story... some old habits are hard to change, especially in old age. I think it's not just gambling, but the ritual of going to the casino, meeting old friends, and all the other stuff that goes with getting out of the house. I wonder if he will make a shift to crypto gambling or if he will find it less interesting and go back to brick-and-mortar casinos.
I would agree to this that teaching an over-the-hill person is not easy and should be needing a longer time for him to understand like teaching him from the very basic up to the most complicated part. I guess that is important so that he won’t be making mistakes when he’s already betting. However, since he’s fond of brick-and-mortar casinos, I guess this will be a challenge for him to start embracing what is new and is of high demand. But if he will be well guided by OP, I think that will be a lot of help for him so he can gamble confidently.

Usually an old people is lazy enough to learn alone, they will ask their child or someone is younger then them to teach and guide them. So I think a video tutorials doesn't really help them, most likely they wouldn't watch it and will say it's hard or give other excuses. Traditional casino is more preferable for old people because they've experienced it and know how to play. Maybe this is why traditional casino is still alive until now, I believe when the new generation already get older, traditional casino might not be successful like now.

Yes, you are right. most of the elderly prefer to be told directly, rather than having to learn through tutorials provided by casino platforms or from various other sources. most of the elderly, would rather ask someone close to him to teach him about something related to technology. and the most effective is to teach them directly, and even then step by step, if not, in a short time they will quickly forget.

So, crypto casino feature for elderly will not be effective. why, because I had a similar experience as the OP described in this thread. at least, it took some time for them to memorize it properly. Regardless of all that, associated with traditional casinos or land casinos. I'm pretty sure, however, land-based casinos have their own advantages over online casinos. Traditional casinos will still be loved, not only for the elderly. especially if the casino destinations are in big cities, such as Las Vegas, Macau, Marina Bay Sands. at least, there are many gamblers around the world who want to visit big-name land-based casinos as vacation destinations.

I do believe that seniors still want to gamble, but using crypto or playing in crypto casinos might be too hard for them, even though we gave those clips that might help them but still they will prefer traditional ones, maybe because they are having fun playing with friends in real casinos and they don't need to be afraid that their money might be stolen without them notice I mean we all know that we all can experience online fraud and phishing and we should be vigilant to it.

Now, I know that OP wants to be of assistance to his uncle, but I think it would be wise to take into account his current financial condition before moving forward. It's probably fine to give him a shot and show him how to make a deposit if he's wealthy enough to bet and genuinely interested in doing so. But if he's using the money for bills and food, it's probably not a good idea to educate him about anything to do with gambling. When you or a loved one struggles with gambling, it's crucial to take precautions. Accordingly, everything hinges on his available funds and his level of enthusiasm for online gambling.
His uncle is indeed old but OP said that he still often goes to real casinos and was curious to try using crypto casinos.
From this we can conclude that indeed his uncle was a gambling enthusiast since he was young and even though he is now old he certainly has a lot of money or extra money that he can use to play gambling and bet, so we don't need to think too much about the money he has to pay bills and eat because of course the money for these purposes is already there and he keeps it.

Op you don't have to suggest a video tutorial or any other teaching process or material to your uncle. Because I didn't see any big different between depositing Fiat currency to a casino platform and use it to gamble with the transfer of cryptocurrency to a casino platform, you can just teach him how to make a deposit from his wallet to the casino site if only he is ready gamble in his old age. I am not advising you to teach anything in gambling because in his age now he has to keep his money for up keeping and paying bills at home not to gamble but he is eager to do that then there is no option than to teach him.

A tutorial would be good also, but for sure there are video tutorials on Youtube about this that you can send to your uncle and he can start to watch them, but I do suggest that you guide him at first until he can do it alone since I know it would be difficult for them, so guidance is the best. Also, I just think it is nice to have a feature in all casinos like senior mode, and it will make the font size bigger, make it easier to play in hand, or make it easier to recognize by those older people, as I think a lot of older people want to engage in this but are just scared.

Why not teach the elderly about cryptocurrencies and how to send the crypto into a casino. I am sure that they will find it easy to do since sending funds to another platform is not very complicated thing but the problem will be on how to use the gadget. Well, my mother doesn't even know how to use mobile phones and evem right now is that she didn't know all of its features and my mother only use messenger app and Facebook and nothing else. I think that it may be a challenge to teach ssomeone about gadgets but for someone who is interested even though that person is an elder then I think it may be easier to do.
It would be better than teaching parents about crypto gambling because we don't know how well they can control themselves by not using all their coins in one day. And if they find they can't control themselves, they can deposit more money into the crypto casino to continue gambling. This is the same as allowing them to gamble more than other people. We should be able to teach these parents to use something properly and correctly, especially if it is about bitcoin, and they also need to prepare for their old age in peace by making bitcoin an investment for their old age. It will really help them when they have no money and feel bad about asking their children for money, and they can sell their bitcoins to earn money and meet their needs without the help of their children.
I agree with you that it is not the greatest idea to introduce parents to the world of cryptocurrency gaming. Instead, they need to be taught the value of Bitcoin as a long-term investment. Betting profits are secondary to retirement planning, after all.

They need to learn the value of responsible money management in order to resist the temptation to gamble in the future, as you pointed out. Making Bitcoin into an investment helps them save for the future and prevents them from feeling dependent on their offspring. Everything benefits, and I have faith that this strategy will improve their lives for the better in the long run.
Learning about the investment offered by bitcoin, at least it can help them save for their future. And when they really are not working or have entered old age, they can use their savings in bitcoin to meet their daily needs. And who knows, they can give their bitcoins to their children and grandchildren to continue what they started, which can provide great benefits for their family, especially if he can invite his family members to join bitcoin so they can feel the benefits of bitcoin. That will make his family a family that is ready for anything that happens in the financial sector.

Well, I had a friend who at that time was over 60 years old, and he told me that he wanted to learn everything about computers, and I remember that every day I went and taught him, and in a period of 3 months he had a great level , he learned a lot, about internet searches, about what pages he could visit, what pages not to visit, at that time it was long before 2009, because Bitcin did not exist yet, but I am sure that if it had existed and I would have taught him, he would have acquired Bitcoin and I would have worked with BITCOIN, older adults are very intelligent and I think that a crypto casino would learn crypto very quickly.
There are elderly that can catch up with everything that they want to learn and it's only going to take them less time to be good at it. Although it sounds good to see them taking some touch with crypto and gambling. It's better for them to just enjoy other things than gambling. I agree to the concerns of the others that don't encourage them into gambling if they're already old enough because we don't know if they'll be compulsive and will start to react with every loss that they make. I saw some elder that have been through with that.
Yes, I actually have two elder friends here in my neighborhood too. One is 55+ and the other is 60+ years old. Drinking buddies on Saturdays. I try my best to feed them the simplest information about cryptocurrencies and even gambling activities because they are also avid fans of basketball locally and in the NBA.
One of them catches up quickly (the 55+) and he is now in the crypto space playing NFT games and others, he even sometimes surprise me as he gets his news faster than I do.  Cheesy The other one though has no interest in it although he will try listening to how it works but never applies it.
Some old people just want to stick with the traditional things but those who want to learn can make it happen. I think OP's uncle is willing to learn so this will not be a hard task for him.

I don't think teaching him how to operate an online casino is going to be a good idea. You should at least let him continue with the one he has been using and maybe his interest my reduces ( probability is very low) rather than help him find ways to increase his gambling habit.
And again I think aside from teaching them how to deposit crypto in their account they also need to the taught how to buy them. Because as times goes by they'll be needing more of it.

I would like to suggest that crypto casinos put a video tutorial explaining how to use cryptocurrencies for gambling on their website.
to be honest I think it would be better if the person actually do their own research on how to use cryptocurrency for gambling.

First, he can easily ask in "Live-support'

CASINO always have some live-support, and then they're gonna explain how to use crypto. Could be send a video from youtube from him to learn, the different is can your uncle understand in some fast way?

We live in 2 different generation, and could be your uncle is non-tech people. Is gonna to be hard for them, also casino don't have time to deal with it.
this is what I think too, will his uncle be able to understand the technology, I am not trying to belittle his uncle or anyone but I have seen some older people that I know of have a hard time learning new technology especially if it has something to do with computers/phones.

Yes, it is always sad to see old people sitting in casinos and being desperate for that win that will change their life. A lot of them cannot work anymore and they are looking for some quick extra money... but in most cases it never happens.

You actually need two things....

1. A tutorial on how to buy Crypto currencies and how to transfer it to a casino.
2. A tutorial on how to signup at a casino and how to play the games.

Let's not forget that a lot of old people are gambling as a method to socialize, so giving them online Crypto casino access.. might isolate them from other people.  Roll Eyes

I'm not comfortable promoting crypto gambling to seniors. Since your uncle is doing just fine on brick-and-mortar casinos why would he use online casinos? I know that online gambling is more comfortable, because you are doing it home. Why doesn't he use online casinos accepting fiat money? I guess that he knows how to use credit cards. Grin Is online gambling banned or restricted in your country?
I can't think of any "features" that would improve the online gambling experience of elderly gamblers. Most online casinos are pretty convenient already. The ones that aren't user friendly and convenient usually get kicked out of business by the competition.

Most of them have a hearing loss problem and poor eye sight, what I think the online gambling casino should add in their website is the "Voice over" or "Audio Description" I think that would not only help elderly but also the people with the problem with their eye sight. For example announcing the result in the roulette, what card does the user have, etc. I really haven't think about the elderly playing casino and since you bring that up I am curious how many elderly are gambling online.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that senior citizens often already have some issues regarding their eyesight, so if casinos could have an UI in which everything was bigger by design then they may have an easier time gambling as it would be easier for them to see what is going on.

After all most user interfaces I have seen look very sleek and modern, but at the same time everything is smaller in order to fit more on the same amount of space, and for the elderly this could be confusing as they many not know what to do when being offered so much information at once.

I think that on YouTube there are many tutorials about how to make deposits or withdrawals using a cryptocurrency which are carried out by gambling sites or users of gambling sites, for example stake.com and several other gambling sites, you can check youtube and tell your uncle about it.

each country has its own habits and even gamblers too, in my country there are also many older people who really like playing mahjong - poker - blackjack - or PvP chess. a gambling game that can sharpen the brain, this is a good thing for seniors.
