Do I deny what?

shut up and pay the charity bet!

I guess that bfl has massive cash flow problems.
Strongly recommend a refund

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes.

Actual competence may weaken self-confidence, as competent individuals may falsely assume that others have an equivalent understanding. David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University conclude, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others".

Dunning and Kruger proposed that, for a given skill, incompetent people will:

    tend to overestimate their own level of skill;
    fail to recognize genuine skill in others;
    fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy;
    recognize and acknowledge their own previous lack of skill, if they are exposed to training for that skill.

Shouldn't you be building ASIC's instead of getting worked up from a few internet trolls?  Huh

It's not like there's a top bitcoin pool in Kansas City or anything... oh wait...

I'm sorry, but the coincidence is just too great to ignore.  Of all the 30,000+ cities in the United States, the largest concentration of U.S. hashing is situated in your backyard and yet we are to believe that you aren't involved?  Really?

You didn't even bother to deny it, you simply jumped straight to the personal attack.  This is a well known tactic used by companies all over the world to discourage dissent in online forums.  You sir do, it well.

It simply isn't possible for Josh to spout off like this and keep his job if he didn't have the consent of his boss(es).  Why would the company support this flagrant behavior if not to discourage dissent whilst continuing to ram the proverbial hashing rod deep within our collective rectum?

Holy crap, the amount of fail in this post is borderline epic.

Why would I try to convince anyone that I'm not involved with that node? (It's actually a set of nodes)  Are you serious?

Do. You. Deny. It?

Did you miss the earlier posts where people pointed out the map from blockchain is of bitcoind nodes, not hash rate? If you click "most stable", you'll see the Kansas City one and the one in Europe are the two most stable in the world that blockchain knows of. So of course they have a large number of connections and relayed nodes...

Oh i know a good one check this out if you think thats bad check out the google charts. and search everything under the date when bitcoin surged.  here is the link.  google domestic trends click on the one year tab and notice how everything spikes and falls at the same time bitcoin did.  or is it just me.  Or economics i dont know but you check it out for yourself.

I dont think its a bad thing for BFL to have a spike thats how it is in every business.  Perks, everyone uses them when they can i dont think they are taking advantage i do think there is some legal regulation in this.  why try to snuff out the manufacturer supplying you the money maker?

And that's exactly why I would never do business with BFL.

Feel like defending your professionalism?  Feel like defending your word on shipping by Christmas time last year?  Feel like defending your honor.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

You must view yourself as the country bumpkin version of the Soup Nazi.... except there's no soup.

Is that your official (and as always eloquent) denial that BFL is not hashing on customer equipment?

That fancy world map is just a graph of the 1149 nodes that the blockchain.info client is connected to, and then it charts the number of incoming transactions that get relayed by that node first. It's not a map of hashrate or even blocks found, it's a map of the largest bitcoind nodes that they happen to be monitoring.

This came up months ago, and it was proven to be nothing but the fact that EMC is physically located right in that same area. Herpy-durp!

In order to have that much hashing power, BFL would have to actually PRODUCE something.  Did you forget that one important detail?

Unusually, I have to come to Josh's defense on this one.

Just the slight oversight of Josh's datacenter and hashing hosting operation to consider.

umm, dur.
