I don't know if Morocco has trained hard for the penalty shootout, as far as I can see, Morocco seems very experienced in the last round to determine the winner in a match. After successfully eliminating Spain on penalties, Morocco managed to make a big surprise at the 2022 World Cup and qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the first time.
Morocco's performance in 2022 is truly admirable and deserves to reach the top level. Yesterday's match between Morocco and Spain went to a tiebreaker after neither side could score at full and extra time. Spain failed to shoot-out there but the Moroccan players did not. Their short in the tiebreaker was worth watching. Spain's goal keeper was completely defeated by the Morocco player last day and i hope Morocco will do better against Portugal in the quarter final.

Portugal played surprisingly well to score 6 against a fairly decent Swiss side. The front 3 and the left and right backs have been massive for the Portuguese national team. I am fairly confident that they should be beating a the Moroccan squad in the quarterfinals. Who themselves have quality players and could cause some concern to Portugal.

Portugal coach really prove to their fans that they are well prepared for this tournament, because they were able to achieved two goals in the first half to gave signal that Switzerland cannot stop them in this FIFA world cup. If Portugal coach can allow cristiano Ronaldo to start the match in the first half, I think they can withstand Morocco in their next match because their opponent is also a strong team that defeated many strong teams in this season. Portugal has more potential players than Morocco just that Morocco are good in penalty shoot out which Portugal will never allow such thing to happen.

I think after looking at the Brackets I can pretty surely say that we are going to have a Europe versus Latin America final.

What I think is that we might have one of Brazil and Argentina in the finals against one of France or Portugal.
In my opinion, France have a better chance of reaching the finals, while Portugal have played inconsistently.

On the other hand, both Brazil and Argentina are playing quite well in my opinion. The good news for Brazil fans is that Neymar has returned to the field after getting injured.
He played very well against South Korea, which is good news for Brazilian fans. I'm really excited about who might be able to go to the finals and who will lift the trophy.

I agree on most points, but I would swap Portugal for England.

The final in my mind will be Brazil vs France. They both have shown amazing skills in the field and they can score a lot.

England and Portugal are also very good in this tournament, but I think they're just not at the level of the other teams.

And Argentina, yeah, they will advance a bit but not getting into the final in my mind.

And well, who knows, Morocco is still undefeated in the entire world cup, they can manage to go through and win it.

Before the match between Spain and Morocco i really wondered why such ods, it was 1.4 for spain to win and that's really not logic because Spain team is so defferent than before, Morocco players was in high confidence and they did everything to keep the score at draw till the end of the match, when the match goes to penalties i was pretty sure that Morocco will pass to the next round because the players confidence was very high

Even before the game started, Morocco looks more like the favorite to win the game but it was still a surprised considering Spain are world favorite when it comes to football and they dominated that game with all the possession as they're known for. The game at the 90th minutes was just flat and boring, both teams looked tired at the extra time round and that was understandable since we all thought the game will be over at the 90th minute. Morocco showed determination in that game and they didn't just get their qualifications out of luck but earned it.

The hero for the day was the goal keeper, he turned up for the team when they needed him the most. Immediately Spain first penalty taker missed, I knew there was going to be an upset as that has never happened before then the Morocco team were looking more confident and that showed in the 3:0 win at the end of the penalty shootout.
what surprised me the most in that match was when I saw the penalty shootout in which the Moroccan players looked more confident than the Spanish players. and the Moroccan win was well deserved not luck. because since the qualifying round Morocco has shown their strength which is to be reckoned with in the world cup this time. And in the next game, Morocco will face a more difficult challenge. because Portugal is one of the favorite national teams in the world cup this time.

Days have passed since the start of the qualifiers and Morocco's strength is only growing.  Morocco will continue to perform well in the future as they progress day by day and build on their experience.  Spain could not score a penalty because their strength was different from the experience of the Moroccan players and the speed with which they shot.  The Moroccan players used different experiences to win against Spain.

You are assuming several things here. First of all, both Brazil and Argentina need to win against their opponents in quarter-final. And given all the upsets we had so far, I would say that nothing is for certain. Brazil is up against Croatia, who have a history of making upsets. Netherlands is one of the best teams from UEFA. And also, how can you assume that France would automatically win against England? France did well so far, but England is no walkover. The QF match between these two teams is perhaps the toughest one in this phase of the world cup.

During the match Morocco seems very discipline to guard Spain players and almost no mistakes from them which make Spain was hard to created the opportunities to scoring goals besides that Morocco players has showed they have strong mentally than Spain and apparently Spain players looks weren't ready to ended the match with penalty kick even their captain Busquets was failed as penalty taker unfortunately poor records from world cup 2018 was repeated again yesterday and for Morocco finally they can break their records from this tournament and so far quarterfinal were their highest achievement but they had strong opponent on quarterfinal that Portugal seems could be serious contender in this tournament after humiliated Switzerland with huge scores
Morocco implemented a defensive strategy well, the Spanish players had a very difficult time finding gaps into the Moroccan defense area. Spain is superior in terms of ball possession, but very few opportunities are obtained.
Morocco coach Walid Reragui had expected that Spain would play a game with short passes by relying on ball possession, the strategy he implemented went perfectly without a single goal scored against Morocco. A draw at normal time was Morocco target from the start, if Walid Reragui implemented an attacking strategy then Morocco would lose.

I don't know if Morocco has trained hard for the penalty shootout, as far as I can see, Morocco seems very experienced in the last round to determine the winner in a match. What a qualification for Marocco country! They did an amazing job today against Spain who simply couldn't perform and install their own play style and Marocco knew exactly how to defend for 90 minutes , pushing the game to extra time and then penalties. At penalties...well...we can all agree that Spain has an awful penalty session and Marocco had only 1 goal , shot as strong as you can in that ball and score.

What is wrong with Spain in this World Cup tournament? They performed so well in the first game, scoring 7 goals against Costa Rica. However, after that, Spain's performance was unconvincing. There was disappointment in the fact that Spain drew with Germany and lost to Japan, and as a result, Spain were eliminated in the first knockout round.
In any case, Morocco did well in this match, and they definitely deserved to win.
Spain were trying to dominate and hold possession but Morocco was well organized, they didn't let Spain find spaces, they were defensively good. Spain still believes in traditional slow game just focusing on possession. And Ball Possension should not be the main tactic of a team, Japan proved it to them. What's the purpose of having the ball all the time but cant even register shots. I’m happy for Morocco, they have done us proud and shown the world that they’re a stronger team and not to be underestimated.

As someone who really doesn't watch much soccer/football, these World Cup tournaments are always really fun to watch.  I also don't understand the game all that much but starting to learn watching these games.  My favorite teams to watch so far are France, Brazil and Argentina.  They all seem to have a decent shot at taking down the tournament.  Still proud of the US for at least doing decent this year lol.  They should be a bit better next time around.

It's awesome that all the games are broadcasted in 4K. Drives me nuts that American NFL football rarely ever broadcasts in 4k.  I know they will eventually but damn, hurry up.

I just found out that in the US it turns out that football (soccer) is not very well known. I misunderstood all this time. because I thought that in the US, football (soccer) is far more famous than in my country.
then what sports are famous there?

Your choices to favor Argentina, France and Brazil are very good choices. because I also favor these countries in the world cup this time.
because the teams I support have lost, namely Korea and Japan.

Yassine Bounou was yesterday's man of the match, he was able to stop Spain from scoring any penalty yesterday, with high level of players spain are having but they couldn't score any penalty, Yassine Bounou really deserved the man of the match.

Not just Yassine Bounou, but the defenders also played really well. Achraf Hakimi, Nayef Aguerd and Noussair Mazraoui in particular were very successful blocking the attack plans of Spanish forwards. Spain players made the mistake by constantly attacking the Moroccan goalpost without any planning. Unfortunately for them the Moroccan players were not intimidated by these tactics and held on their own. As the match progressed the Spanish players got more and more frustrated and made a lot of mistakes.

Thats what happens when you don’t play with intent. You need to score to be able to survive in this past pace environment. You don’t get to play 30 league games in this event. Morocco were very composed and defensively organized. I wasn’t surprised with the 0-0 goalless result. I knew they had conceded only a goal from the group stage till now. Spain weren’t mentally ready for the penalty shootouts.

Before the match between Spain and Morocco i really wondered why such ods, it was 1.4 for spain to win and that's really not logic because Spain team is so defferent than before,
Before the match started, most people believe that Spain is going win Morocco, even one saw Spain as a big country and Morocco as a small country, so they believe Morocco cant really win Spain, I lost my bet because of Spain match and most of the people that I know also lose their bet, everyone believe Spain will definitely win the match, but unfortunately Spain couldn't even secure a goal in the match.
Morocco players was in high confidence and they did everything to keep the score at draw till the end of the match,
Morocco defence was very strong which make it difficult for spain to break, with the kind of squad Spain is having, they couldn't break Morocco defense yesterday, Morocco performed well in their match yesterday. They will be playing against Portugal in quarter final, I will recommend they put more effort in the match and am sure they will also send Portugal home.
when the match goes to penalties i was pretty sure that Morocco will pass to the next round because the players confidence was very high

Netherlands looked shaky, even before the start of the world cup. They performed poorly in the qualifying matches, and then went on to concede a draw against Ecuador in the group stage match. But then, Ecuador lost when it mattered the most. The loss against Senegal was completely unexpected. Their chances of qualifying to the PQF stage evaporated with that loss. BTW, I wasn't impressed with the PQF performance as well from Netherlands. They won against the United States by a margin of 3-1, but there was nothing extraordinary in their performance.
The Netherlands has worked hard in the last match having beaten the United States for a high win score, so we don't need to judge from the beginning during the qualifiers because spain, german and uruguay are big teams who played amazing in the qualifiers but didn't make it through to the quarter finals, so the previous high win has motivated the Netherlands to prepare to face Argentina.

Well.. I agree. This world cup have been very unpredictable from the start. Some of the tournament favorites have been kicked out already, such as Spain, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. Being a fan of the Argentina team, I want them to win against the Netherlands. And Argentina (despite their loss against Saudi Arabia) has performed satisfactorily so far. Players such as Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala have managed to relieve a lot of pressure from Lionel Messi. As a team, Argentina seems to have a lot of bonding and cohesion.

Morocco pattern of for is a defensive style and Portugal very confident of winning them especially when they have reached this far in the world cup. Morocco eliminating Spain out of the world cup still remain a great shock to football lovers and new record have be written. Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi are very eager to reach the finals, Finally the two GOATs would proof themselves maybe this will be the last time we would be witnessing tough high performance from both of them.

The Moroccan team played defensively but they were also very effective in the attacks. The Spanish side hade the possession and shots on goal but most of their shots were off target. Luis Enrique was careful not to focus much on the attack because players like Hakim Ziyech would be very dangerous if the Moroccan side starts a counter attack. Basically I think the Spanish side don't have the quality they had four years ago. The the Atlas Lions had  determined and fit players that were able to withstand the attacking threat of the Spanish team for more than 120 minutes. Yassine Bounou's confidence during the penalty shootout intimidated the Spanish players, he was even making some dramatic movements. This is a victory for Africa. Congratulations to Morocco.

The joke is that the match was not as one-sided as the final score would indicate. Switzerland had 53% possession and more passes/pass accuracy compared to Portugal. But in the end Portugal won because they managed more shots on target. Anyway, now we know the full lineup for the quarter-finals. The only team from outside UEFA/CONMEBOL to feature in the quarterfinals is Morocco, who managed to defeat Spain. And as I predicted before the tournament started, in all probability, we will have the semifinal between Argentina and Brazil.

The Swiss team played good football but didn't use their goal scoring opportunities and they defended very badly. Yann Sommer, Switzerland's goalkeeper is to blame for the first goal because he was well positioned to save that shot by G. Ramos. I didn't expect the goal margin to be more than 2-0. Portugal's performance yesterday might be an indication that without Ronaldo the team can still win matches comfortably, this is because his absence was not really felt.

Well, Ecuador has really impressed me a lot, I did not expect Ecuador to have such a high performance, because in the South American qualifiers they had to win the last game because those 3 points were necessary for their qualification to this World Cup, but seeing that they have Given the stature of Holland, he deserves very good things, and it's not that Holland played badly, it's that they didn't let him play freely, at every moment they marked the Dutch very well, even so Holland for me is still a team strong enough to qualify and deserving of the world cup, only a couple of games have gone by, it remains to be seen how they continue to play from now on.
