I don't think that there really is a reason why people would be disappointed in the performance of Otto Addo. I mean they were in a group with Portugal and Uruguay so i don't think that a lot of people expected them to go through to the knockout stage of the tournament. Still they had a big chance to advance and as you already said they even had the chance to go in front in the match against Uruguay but Ayew simply missed that penalty, so that is definitely not the fault of the coach. Maybe they made an agreement before the tournament started that he would resign if they would not make it into the knockout stage or something.

Uniquely, the 3 countries that passed earlier lost their last match. France lost to Tunisia, Portugal lost to South Korea and finally Brazil also lost to Cameroon. And of the 2 countries that lost they lost dramatically because the opposing team scored a goal in 90+ minutes. Maybe this is something that is natural because losing doesn't matter because they have pocketed 1 ticket to play in Round Of 16.
This is what is more awaited, where the big countries will face each other. I feel like the World Cup just started yesterday, but today we finished the group stage.

As Argentina had easily defeated Saudi Arabia earlier in the group stage. So they will never take Australia easy today, Argentina will play with great responsibility today and ensure victory. Lionel Messi missed the penalty in the previous match. I believe he will put up a great performance today and be able to score.
