Belgium looks shaky but they leave the impression that they could score out of nowhere anytime they want and I'm curious how they will perform with Lukaku on the pitch because tonight they are kinda fortunate to beat Canada by 1-0, during the fact that Canada had a missing penalty but also 3 clear chances to score besides that  Undecided.

Looking at Croatia and Marocco , neither of them will have an easy game against Canada and I could see them beating both of them and moving out of group F with Belgium alongside.

Some teams have become really strong in this World Cup.Like yesterday we saw the game between Argentina and Saudi Arabia where the most powerful name Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia.Again today I saw that Japan beat Germany.Like in yesterday's match no one believed that Saudi Arabia would win and in today's match no one believed that Japan would win. But whatever one says is strong only when one can win a tough fight. All the teams that won the World Cup this year are really strong.
what a surprize Saudia Arabia and Japan gave to the world. I think Saudis are well calmatized with the Qatar weather too.
But the celebration in Saudia and UAE is still going on. The Saudi gov have given a day off in celebration of the win.
What a day for Saudis and Japanese.

I doubt they'll win their next game with 2 good players out of the game. They have one in the hospital and another one with a sprain or something.
Saudi Arabia showed their best in that match but I  just don't see them coming out of the group and the weather isn't going to play a part at all.
You are right but did you notice Saudi goalkeeper did so well in the match - I was thinking about MEssi too and I am looking fwd to see Ronaldo on the field too
What surprize Ronaldo is going to bring to us. I wish his team wins and don't give us shock like Saudis did to Argentina

seems like many big team will be out soon. I don't know how Messi is feeling after losing the game from Saudia Arabia.
What a joy Saudis give to their nation and what a shock Argentina gave to their fans. Now Saudia which was not in the early discussion  is the hot favourite team of the world cup too

That wining over Argentina by the Saudis is really a big shock to the Argentines entirely, even with the early penalty that was awarded to them, It couldn't help matters. I still believe that the Lionel Messi side will have the opportunity to qualify from the group stage.

So as a lesson, let them know that there's no small team in this this year's world cup compition , unlike before where we usually have big teams dealt with the small teams.

Most German fans expected a straight winning for the team since history is already favorable to Germany, but then this year's world cup is different from the others and full of unexpected game outcomes, but since we are at the group stage we may be seeing a new development in the next stage of the world cup when the bigger teams will start facing each other.

Germany did play well if we are being honest; the chances were difficult to convert because Germany played major parts of the game without a striker. Haverts is not a striker, i do not understand why coaches continue to use him in that position. Also football is a game of chances; Japan took their chances, defended well and got the 3 points deservedly
Japan did play very well and Saudia surprised us all
Its BEL and CAN playing  but the game is not that thrilling. The way Saudis and Argentia played yesterday was amazing. They were fast and quick in attacking.
Hope Messi is doing well. This is said to be his last world cup!

Spain won a simple match. Together with England, the only team that really made an impression. Weird things happen at the World Cup, like Germany's defeat. But 4 years ago the group stage was also the final station for Germany, maybe that will be the case again this year. Spain seems to me to be stronger than Germany at the moment, and then Germany might no longer be able to qualify. Canadag missed a penalty against Belgium, and Belgium led 1-0 1 minute before the break. No goals have yet been scored in the 2nd half, but the Belgians are by no means convincing.

I don't understand why a player of the class of Alphonso Davies could fail to convert the penalty opportunity given by the referee into a goal for Canada,
You could say almost the same thing for Poland as R. Lewandowski also directed his penalty shoot, right into the hands of the goalkeeper even when these two knew what it meant for there country. The truth remains that, its a very tensed moment for all the players on the pitch and most especially the player that is given that burden of giving theee nation that goal to set them ahead. Am sure they would have wished differently after not converting those shoots.

Also, we would try to remember that, there is an eleventh player on the pitch and that player is the goalkeeper. They've got to be making there marks in the games they feature in don't you think? That includes moments of the penalty shoots and that means, making those saves.

We watched two kinds of teams that played with the ball very dominantly today. One of them was Germany and the other one was Spain.

Germany had everything under control especially in the first half. But when it comes to their finishing skills, they were able to score only once. After keeping their 1-0 lead for a long time Japan saw an opportunity there in the second half. They played bravely and achieved a great success for themselves.

On the other hand, Spain also had a huge dominance about ball possession just as Germany. However they were very effective in making use of their dangerous attacks at the same time. This must be like one of their most productive matches in the recent times - 7 shots on goal and all of them concluded with goals. It was like a trailer of what Spain are capable of in this tournament.

Although I'm very disappointed with the German team's performance at this year's World Cup, I think that Japan played well and deserved to win. Japanese team played a very disciplined game, with excellent teamwork and solid defense. Germany dominated possession, especially in the first half, and had more shots on target, but Japan showed greater creativity and flair in the second half, which ultimately led to their win. I don't think it was a case of the Germans being flat or not playing to their potential. They just weren't as good as they could have been. It was a case of the Germans being outplayed by an opponent that knew what they were doing and played to their strengths. Japan's defense was also very good, and their goalkeeper made some excellent saves to keep Germany off the scoresheet.
Germany deserved to win compared to Japan, but I think Germany squandered too many chances and underestimated Japan a bit. I agree Germany created a lot of chances but their finishing was unlucky regardless of the reasons. Almost the same as Argentina, but Germany looks worse in my opinion.

But don't worry, Argentina and Germany both have a chance to win their next two matches in the group stage. The problem is they have to win it, they have to avoid defeats and draws in the next 2 matches to ensure they qualify for the round of 16. It will really be hard to imagine how these two big teams will fight in the next 2 matches, but really their every match will be a final from now on.

Canada managed to trouble the Belgian defense throughout the first half but fortunately the solid defense from Belgium was able to break every Canadian attack, Belgium should thank Courtois for being able to save a penalty and also to Batshuayi for being able to score 1 gol  to end the first half with a score of 1-0 on belgium won, actually Canada had many opportunities including a penalty to score but unfortunately the poor finishing from the front line of Canada made them fail to score, I think the second half of the match will be even more exciting because the two of them will continue to exchange attacks to get the win.

I don't understand why a player of the class of Alphonso Davies could fail to convert the penalty opportunity given by the referee into a goal for Canada, maybe his mentality as a Canadian player is very different from when he played for Bayern Munich. In this second half maybe we won't see any additional goals or at least there will be 1 additional goal from Belgium, there will be no more chance for Canada to rise. What do you think?

A country like Germany with such extremely good players, who today only scored a goal through a penalty, that's bad. They can play so much better soccer and they didn't do that today, maybe that he write "very bad". They won the friendly match against Oman only 1:0 and I think: Oh dear, how will the first match in the World Cup be? Now we have seen it and it was not Germany as we know it.

Yeah. Germany entered the World Cup with high expectations, since they are four-time World Cup champions, and they were expected to win Group E. But then, it looked like Japan had watched Saudi Arabia's win on repeat because they managed to turn the game around after a dominant first half from Germany.

Germany had the ball for almost 80% of the first half, but Japan came out with a different game plan in the second. They played more directly and managed to create chances through counter-attacks. The Japanese team was not only able to keep Germany from scoring, but they also managed to score twice of their own. This will definitely go down as one of Japan's greatest World Cup performances.

Spain's performance tonight was amazing, it's hard to believe they were able to win such a big win over Costa Rica. This victory is certainly an important asset for them to secure a place in the next round. Spain will have a decisive match against Germany on the second matchday. Victory can pave the way for the Matador team. But for Germany it is mandatory to win to maintain hope in the group stage, if they lose again, the Panzer Team will certainly lift their bags earlier than Qatar.

Spain has a great team and imo they are strong candidates to win this year's World Cup. They have a balanced squad with very new players like Nico Williams who is just 20 years old, but also very experienced well-known ones.

Let's see how they play versus Germany. The match should be harder to win than Costa Rica's.

What a day for Saudis and Japanese.
Saudi is a very weak country when it comes to football, they don't believe they could win the Argentina, Saudi Arabia where really suprised and amazed that's why their government decide to give a public holiday to celebrate their win. To be honest nobody believe that Saudi Arabia can diffit Argentina.
Japan played a very nice game today, immediately after Germany scored their first goal which was penalty, I was expecting more goals from Germany because the pressure was too much on Japan, i was suprised that Japan where able to score two goals in second half even as Germany was still processing them.

Now Belgium are in the lead by 1-0 against Canada. However Canada's missing that penalty was a turning point for Belgium as well. I'm still not very confident about Belgium until they make it 2-0.
Canada should have scored more than a goal in that first half even after that poorly played penalty, the goal keeper for Belgium is very experienced and has just been good and Canada have not been good scoring when they have had their opportunity. They will regret it if the game finishes and they are not winners. If they let Belgium score again, it will be demoralizing for them because of how more impossible it will look win this game.

Japan already known as a team with so many spirit. People are always picking a big team as their favourite but i think that japan was underrated team in the world cup. Germany got surprised caused by it has the same fate like argentina. I guess people are always underrating the country that didn't popular caused by it was not having popular league. As far as i know even since world cup that already passed if japan can't be underrated as the team from japan was always making the popular country related with football to have a tough game against it.
Japan has proven if asia country can't be underrated.
Germany played very bad today, they would have lost 1-2 also against Lichtenstein. Maybe that was too mutch of politics today as the German team cover mouth with hand before the game at the team photo. Too much politics is probably not good for soccer, maybe the Fifa is right? On Sunday Germany vs Spain and if they lost, then the World Cup is over.

Played very bad, haha. Did you see the first 75 minutes?
Also, criticizing FIFA is not politics, it freedom of speech, unknown in countries like Qatar.

Arabs stopped Argentina, Japanese stopped Germans and anyone would be completely shocked by the results of these two fights. Who would have thought that two non-seeded teams like Saudi Arabia and Japan would be able to beat Argentina and Germany in almost the same scenario?

Although I'm very disappointed with the German team's performance at this year's World Cup, I think that Japan played well and deserved to win. Japanese team played a very disciplined game, with excellent teamwork and solid defense. Saudia and Japan has surprised and they have shocked the world. The Argentina and German defeat is so surprising.
I think it will be a surprize which team will win the world cup - all the prediction went upside down. In the OP poll Saudia and Japan is not even mentioned as the fav team.
