I want to say something different. This World Cup will be the best in history. Every team will try their best to win. But if we really love football, we must love Messi. So my personal opinion as Messi said this World Cup is probably his last World Cup. So I am hoping that the World Cup trophy will go to him. And I think the football world will be delighted if this World Cup goes to him.
Every season of the World Cup have got some special moments like this. Supporting an individual player based on his performance is good, but just because he's into farewell it doesn't mean his team can take the World Cup for him. There'll be different hope, yours in favour of Argentina based on Messi. It is to be noted, individual performance can't bring win in football.

But there are at least about 5 soccer stars who will compete in the world cup for the last time. and one of them is messi. I am also a Messi fan. and indeed it would be very good if Messi could lift the trophy in this last world cup. but in the world cup there will always be unexpected surprises. because indeed every team will play with all its might. Even Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal would want to give his best for the last time in the world cup.

Senegal was able to qualify for the quarter finals of the 2002 world cup. The other team from Africa who managed to do this was Cameroon in 1990s. No matter how good the Senegal team seems, they won't be able to compete with European teams who have so many facilities which African teams cannot think.

If you think about Brazil for example, they have qualified for every single world cup, and they won their first in Sweden 1958.

In that same year, this was a headline about their economy:

July 24, 1958: Inflation-ridden Brazil has decided to tighten the fiscal belt, cutting Government expenses in an effort to diminish what promised to be a staggering budget deficit this year.

So it's not necessary to be a rich country to win the World Cup.

Since we are all so much excited about the world cup - and talking so much about it.
This world cup will surely be the best one. There is little time left and excitement is at the peak.

If things may change as you suggested, why are you so certain that Africa or Asia won't produce a winner? You don't underestimate a nation because of how it is seen on a global level. Will you be surprised if Senegal wins the World Cup despite their excellent and consistent performance? FIFA might not be fair to them, whether it be an Asian or African side, but no matter the biases and misjudgement that will be made, what will be will be.

Based on the historical records, it doesn't seem likely that Senegal would win the world cup. They've managed to qualify only a couple of times to the world cup, and their absolute best was at Korea-Japan 2002 where they ended up 7th.

I don't really see them as a strong candidate for winning this world cup, there are many other stronger teams. But as you say, anything can happen and they of course have the chance of winning.

Brazil are always a strong contender for any world cup, they have a very good chance to win gold in Qatar when the tournament starts in November, but there are other strong candidates for gold too, and unfortunately only one country can take the trophy back home. Brazil are ranked the number one country in football now, i don't know if that is good for the players or if it will put some pressure on them as they know that eyes will be on them to deliver based on their rankings.

What I see, as a person who followed all the Brazil matches of qualifiers, all friendly matches and Copa America:
Some months ago I was worried about coach Tite not giving space to young players, like Rodrygo and Vinicius JR from Real Madrid, but after the Champions League, things started to change
Brazil have players to play in any league, with any team, if you need a team only with players under 20 years Brazil can provide easily, just an example, the last Olympics Brazil won, so this is a continuation of the work. Now Brazil have more players from that title, like Richarlison, Matheus Cunha and Antony.

Now Brazil have a mix of young players (but already experienced), and experienced players like Neymar, Thiago Silva and Ederson.

Last cup Brazil are weaker, but now Brazil is strong like any other squad.

More and more people are talking about the chances of Brazil winning this World Cup. They are a combination of young and experienced players. They have everything in their squad.

But Brazil and Argentina are not included in this survey. They are my personal picks to win but I am more to Argentina coz i'm a fan. Survey looked downing Brazil and Argentina. Italy fell flat by not being able to qualify to this World Cup. And Portugal? Better ask the Manchester United fans if their Portuguese striker still has it. I have no idea what country is leading in the survey coz I can't vote for Argentina.
Brazil is undoubtedly the favorite to win the world championship; they have the offensive and defensive strength, but their midfield lacks creativity. On the entire Brazil team, there isn't a creative midfielder who can run down an opponent. Any team must have a balanced attack, midfield, and defense in order to compete well in this world cup. The only team with such balance is Portugal, who have two talented midfielders in Benardo Silva and Bruno, who are now at the top of their game. Any foe can be taken out by them. Brazil, meanwhile, lacks similar ingenuity in the midfield. is a significant issue for the Brazil team.

But things can change, and any result can happen, but one thing is surely still we are not going to have any winner from Africa and Asia it's all about UEFA and CONMEBOL this is surely hurting me too much as well.

Will you be surprised if Senegal wins the World Cup despite their excellent and consistent performance? FIFA might not be fair to them, whether it be an Asian or African side, but no matter the biases and misjudgement that will be made, what will be will be.

The problem is that there are no teams in Asia or Africa who can compete with the western or South American teams and beat them in the all important fifa world cup. Also if we see the total number of teams that qualify for the world cup, the majority of them are from Europe and South Amercians.

Based on the historical records, it doesn't seem likely that Senegal would win the world cup. They've managed to qualify only a couple of times to the world cup, and their absolute best was at Korea-Japan 2002 where they ended up 7th.

and that is a fact. no one can be sure that Ronaldo will play well for the Portugal national team later, after seeing his very declining form at Manchester United. regardless of the obstacles that caused his performance to decline, but for sure, his contribution to the world cup later will be questioned and also doubted, soon we will see.

Unlike Modric, captain of the Croatian national team, Luca Modric is an important player in his squad, this Real Madrid player will be the foundation of the Croatian national team. he is important for the squad, not only at the club but also with Croatia.

back to Ronaldo, I hope in the world cup later he will play spectacularly. however, I would not be surprised if he later became a second-tier player because his performance did not improve.

Croatia is still in the lead in this competition. I see Luka Modric as a game creator and also the captain is still in good form. At Real Madrid he also has an important role to play in managing the defense as well as attack, how is it possible for a 37-year-old to have so much stamina and I think only Modric can do that.

For that matter Cristiano Ronaldo is also 37 years old, and he seems to be in much better shape when compared to Luka Modrić. I had mentioned this previously. This world cup will witness a number of players in their late 30s leading their respective teams. Lionel Messi is 35 years old, while his team-mate Ángel Di María is 34. Luis Suárez is also 35, and Fernando Muslera is 36. Others are Manuel Neuer (36), Karim Benzema (34) and Kasper Schmeichel (35). Goran Pandev and Zlatan Ibrahimović are the only notable omissions, as their teams failed to qualify.

I would disagree with you.
Ronaldo is in a big crisis and hardly plays for Manchester, and his contribution to the Portuguese national team is very small this year.
On the other hand, Modric plays great both in Real and in the national team and is among the best players in both teams.
Real and the Croatian national football team simply can't play without Modric.
With such Modric, Real can once again win the Spanish football championship and the Champions League, and the Croatian national football team can once again play in the final of the World Cup.
On the other hand, Manchester and Portugal are playing better without Ronaldo at the moment.

To me Senegal can retain back the trophy, their performance in the recent Afcon and world cup qualifiers was outstanding. Though Nigeria recently have the best squad in Africa, but I don't see them winning the trophy, Senegal are more focused than Nigeria during game play, their recent bears it out.
Senegal truly displayed impressive play during the last AFCON to win their first-ever AFCON cup. But this shouldn't automatically qualify them to win the world cup, and the first win in a cup doesn't have to exonerate the nation from being lucky unless they display the performance more often. I don't know what they will do this time, yet we are talking about the world cup here, even the best in a continent might not near a good performance in the world cup.

All I know is that Africa and Asia won't win the world cup yet, they both have to do better in a team making to get that done.

If we talk about just chances then many teams are good and can go through with their chances, but realities are completely different from these chances and for real results we have to wait for the start of this event which is now having few days no doubt Argentina and Brazil both are currently hot favourite in pre talks and predictions but still we have to accept this few UEFA teams are still good enough for having title even these are unlucky specially Croatia and Netherlands both are competitive sides which are unlucky in past but can change their fortunes with France and England are also having few quality players even many concerns about their inner issues.

But things can change, and any result can happen, but one thing is surely still we are not going to have any winner from Africa and Asia it's all about UEFA and CONMEBOL this is surely hurting me too much as well.

I have to admit this time Brazil is a strong candidate for the world cup champion. They have a lot of talented players, especially players who each play for teams in the English league, their attack line is very strong, maybe the coach will be a little confused in making his choice. Maybe the tough opponents for Brazil are Argentina, France and Germany because they also have a lot of great players. I can't wait to see the world cup match which will be held in November.
Yeah, people keep on adding the most popular teams to the list of favourite. Think of the previous FIFA, very few were for France and none thought it would be Croatia as the opponent. This time too we can see more such unexpected teams making big performance. I find some small teams making a big moment in FIFA 2022.

There is no denying that Brazil are the main favorites in the Qatar world cup championship, but I will add the Netherlands in the squad list of the team that will surprise the world cup this year, win, the Netherlands are not too favorites, when compared to the squad that came from  from Europe.
because after all France is more superior and has a depth of players who are very qualified from all lines, but unfortunately their performance is not as good as the players they have.
I would like to see Holland in this world cup even further, they are quite consistent and have a pretty good performance.

Modric is still the leader of the Croatian team and one of the main players in Real Madrid, but Croatia is not only Modric.
Croatia has several other fantastic players such as Perisic (Tottenham), Kovacic (Chelsea), Brozovic (Inter), Gvardiol (Leipzig), Stanisic (Bayern)... and they have already shown their quality in the League of Nations, after winning  against France and Denmark and and winning first place in the group.
After a short crisis after the World Cup in Russia, Croatia is playing at the highest level again and at the World Cup it will be a tough opponent for every national team and with a little luck it can go far again.

Few days ago Messi said this will probably be his last world cup, i have been thinking of a Brazil v Argentina final in Qatar, it will be great for football fans, and it will bring two friends, Messi and Neymar against each other. While it will be great to see, it is just my speculation, and it is what we do not expect that may happen, as an unexpected country may win it this year, one thing i will do is to enjoy the tournament despite who wins it.
